Sileen sees the cave go further down, and motions Nio to stay. She quietly trots down the deep, dark, cave. She examines it, comes back finding it safe, and motions Nio to come. Then she goes back in the dark tunnel to the following room.

Sileen watches Nio enter the cave.
"What now?"

Nio thinks, but before she can even mumble one half-formed thought, the cave suddenly begins to shake. Nio opens her wings, and tries to take to the air, but her wings are fouled by a falling rock. Screeching in pain, she collapses. Then the entire floor of the cave opens, and Nio plunges downward (Sileen too).
