((This time, I will REALLY roleplay. Name: Zalazzazzazza (she had some ODD parents...), "Zalza" Species: Hare Fur: Off-White Eyes: Blue Age: 9))
Another REALLY young female hare skips through the shallow stream, humming a song that nobody else knows to herself. She forgot the words, but occaisionally she makes up her own and sings.
"And when the sky turns green And the dirt is CLEAAAN, You know it's time to eat Something SWEET!"

((Sort of too lazy to reply to everyone else who just came... so I'll just reply to the otter (forget his/her name, too lazy to check, and besides, if you were threatened for your life, wouldn't you just want to talk to the person threatening you?) ))
I carefully sized up the otter. If things didn't work out, I might be able to outswim him. I was a powerful swimmer, even by otter standards, so I had a good chance of getting ahead and staying ahead. But first I wanted to talk.
"You can put that down, you know, I don't want a fight. I just wanted your name. I already gave you mine: Daggerstripe Swiftstone. It's polite for you to give me your name in return. By the way, do you know where Redwall is? Fleettail's maps weren't very accurate, and he never gave me any directions. Fleettail-the otter down near Castle Floret, you know him?-raised me. He gave me my surname and my watername ((I didn't think nickname would sound good, since it's practically her name, so I figured I'd make a new name for it...)), and even gave me my first name! It's Faldrin. So, what's your name?"
((She's pretty young, you know... forget if I put her age down or not, but she's only about the equivelent of a eleven-year-old. She acts like an eleven-year-old on sugar-high when she's in the water.))

The squirrel slowly makes her way towards the others, wanting to stay hidden and spy on anyone there first. She knew well enough how to spy without getting noticed.
(My loveley character is probably the equiveltent of a 25 year old...My oldest roleplaying character.)

Lein stops swinging her sling. "Yes, I know where Redwall is, but I doubt they'd accept you. Besides, how do I know I'm not being lied to? I've never heard of a Fleettail, either. "I can't tell you, Redwall has no warriors at this time. It's a time of peace, and they don't need any unnecessary trouble." She turns aorund and starts swinging her sling again. Something's watching us...OOC: Lein's age would probably be around 18 in human years.

"Aye, jolly good ol' Redwall is goin' through the peace stage!" Liz nods. "But aye, Salamandastron, th'mount to the south; 'tis goin' through a rough time, eh. Th'mount's goin' to be attacked by some fox nam'd Korenel Drunsweh," Liz sighs. "M'lord, Lord Stenelk, has sent m'to gather up gentlebeasts for 'is army." Liz groans, sitting at the trunk of the tree.

The squirrel got close enough so she could watch them, and she sat behind a tree, a sly grin on her face.
'Well Dera, you've outdone yourself this time. They won't know what hit them until it's too late! And when it's too late...Maybe someday I'll be able to take over that wretched place for myself.'She thinks.
Dera obviously wasn't the nicest one to run into, even in one of her good moods.

"You haven't heard of Fleettail? I can't believe it! He lives just upriver of the otter camp at Castle Floret... You sure you never heard of him? The fastest ever otter ever to swim? Oh, did you say Redwall's going through a time of peace? That's great! But no warriors? Why not? If Salamandastron's having a hard time with the weasels, then why isn't anyone staying at Redwall, just in case someone attacks there?"
I turned to the hare.
"Do you think Lord Stenalk'd let me into his army if Redwall doesn't let me stay? I hear the food there's plenty good, even if it isn't as good as Redwall's, and since they don't get many otters around I doubt they'd have any good stew for a ferrotter. I'd like to fight, though! Think of it, I'd be famous! Faldrin Daggerstripe Swiftstone, the hero of Salamandastron! That'd even be better'n defending Redwall while all the warriors are away! Unless they get attacked, of course, 'cause then I'll be told in stories by the Father Abbot as the ferrotter who single-pawed defended the abbey! I'd be a hero right up there with Martin! Well, maybe not as high, 'cause he led an entire army and has a famous sword, and his soul still hangs around the abbey, but I'd be a pretty good hero! And good decent soup, too! They'd probably give me potloads special just for me if I saved the abbey!"
((Told you she's on sugar-high when she's in the water... BTW, I've forgotten the name of that spice soup the otters really like... You know, with the shrimp and stuff in it? Could someone who DOES remember remind me what the name is?))

Lein turns back to the 'ferrotter.' "Hotroot soup? Ah, yes... it's great. With extra hotroot pepper, always. You can't have a hotroot soup that isn't spicy!"
The otter starts to swing her sling casually, then turns to Liz. "Salamandastron in trouble, y'say? Well, I'd gladly come along. Nothing like a good fight." At this, Lein pulls out a hidden javelin, and throws it upwards. It slices right through the middle of the leaf. As she goes to retrieve it, she sees Dera. "Uh... hello..."

Dera blinks, a confused look on her face. She then smiles sweetly."Hi.What are ye doing here?"She asks, her voice coated with sweetness."M'name's Snowfur."She continues.Of course, that was a plain out lie.

Lein blinked back. "Just collecting my javelin... Some war at Salamandastron. And I'm going... At least, I think I am."
She turns her back on the squirrel. She's too sweet for my liking.

"Oh, hello there!" I said cheerily to the squirrel. "Do you know where Redwall Abbey is? I can't seem to find it, and this otterchap here won't tell me where it is. I think I'll go and stay there for a while and have some hotroot soup. I can't stand too long without some good ol' hotroot, 'specially when I'm on the go, and I haven't been able to find everything I need for some. I've got the hotroot, but everything else seems to not want to find me, or me find it, so I haven't had any decent ferrotter food for quite awhile... Oh, look at that! My fur's gone all light again! I'll have to get it dyed down again before I go anywhere-nothing's worse'n havin' light fur for a first impression. So, do you know where the Abbey is? I'd like some soup before the week's out, y'see. Could you tell me?"

Dera just nods, pointing behind her.She knew Mossflower well enough to tell where the Abbey was pretty much anywhere in it.

Liz groans, sitting at the trunk of the tree. Korenel Drunsweh... where had Zalza heard that name before?Zalza's left ear twitched. She looked up in that direction and sure enough, a storm was blowing in from the south. Good old weather ear. She scampered silently towards Redwall, unsure what to make of all this.

"I better come with you," says Lein, looking at the ferrotter. ((What can I call her for a nickname?)) "Just so they know you aren't any trouble. I was born there; they know me."
Lein starts walking in the direction of the Abbey. "Well, are you coming?"
