((Wow, so many new players already ^^
On a side note, you two probably want to read Rider's tutorial. There are phases for each turn listed there which need to be done in order because, unlike M:tG, Events can't be used any time during your turn. Just a heads up, I'm just glad you two are having fun playing ^_^))
