"Well..." Gwen said hesitantly; Mercy didn't know Brandon was a Gryphon, and Gwen would get in huge trouble for telling her. "He just owes me, I saw him doing something he wasn't too proud of." SHe winked, hoping Mercy would go for her bait.

Mercy nodded, although she knew Gwen was hiding something. "And you wouldn't tell me what, now, would you?" She glanced over her shoulder. "I'll have to wait until he's out with friends or something; I'm in the same class as he is... I think..."

OOC: He's taking 5th year potions...who knows why. You're not in that class with him.
IC:
Gwen smiled. "Thanks a lot." She rushed off to her first class.

((I meant the other classes then? *shrugs* Stop being special!!!))
"Um... okay." Mercy watched Gwen run away. "He's definitely not in my first class.... So I'll use this time wisely." She walked through the halls to the Ravenclaw dorm - she had, stupidly, left her bag on her bed.
Then again, the place was empty. Why not use this time for the spying...

Gwen was almost at her class, transiguration, when she looked at her watch. She still had 5 minutes, miraculously. She sidestepped out of the way of other students walking to class, and double checked her bag. She cursed silently, seeing Filch nearby, seeing that she had forgotten her toffees, sugar quills, nosebleed gum, and fainting candies. Also, some morphing cookies wouldn't hurt, as she wasn't the best at transiguring. She rushed back up the stairs, and entered the commonroom. She noticed she was already two minutes late for Transifiguration. More importantly, she noticed a figure sillouhetted in the rising sun. However, she recognized the posture and walk; Mercy. Time to give my latest invention a try... Gwen thought grimly and nervously. She really hadn't had enough time to work out the loopholes in it, but she had no choice; she wanted to see what Mercy was doing without getting detention. She grimaced, and popped a small chocolate into her mouth. She clenched her jaw tightly, as her body literally separated.
She felt an icy chill run through her body, as she saw a perfect image of herself. It was truly the oddest sensation she had ever felt. It was as if she had developed two other eyes, and was seeing two different pictures with them. On one hand, she was looking at one image of her, and tucking her hair behind her ear, while on the other hand, she was staring at herself tucking her hair behind her ear. She took a step forward shakily. She realized this would take a few minutes to get used to. She tried to transmit thoughts to her alternate side, as with animagus's. It worked, and after another 10 minutes she was ready to venture outside the commonroom. She cursed, however, as Mercy was already far away in the dormitories, and Transfiguration had already started. She raced out of the commonroom as a wave of dizzyness swept over her. She felt a little sick, but continued to her classroom, with minimal lecturing, as she madeup a story about how her book bag had split. In the meantime, she was set to follow Mercy.

Class had started. Marie didn't try to hide her enthusiasm, she loved this class! Sure, everyone teased her about it, but that didn't stop her. Snape had already written down the directions and ingredients for the Disorienting Draught on the board. The 5th year had spelled her quill so it would copy the directions and such from the board. She had just learned it over the summer, while talking with her slowly dying grandfather.
Snape warned the class that if they inhaled any of the potion's fumes directly, they would become dizzy (and possibly faint). Apparently, the fumes from the draught were more dangerous than the potion itself. Then... he chose partners. Marie kept a hopefull face...
"...and last is Miss Keaves and Mr. ____," Snape smirked. Marie acted like she was repulsed by this, although she was rejoicing in her mind. She looked over at Brandon and sneered.
((Why didn't you give him a last name, IDL?))

{I'm here, I just don't know what to do... wait... yes I do...}
After Brandon came and went, I raced into class and sat down at my regular seat, at the front. A few people stared at me, but they always stared. Even more so, since I had come in late. The only thing odd was that McGonnagal was looking at me strangely, too. She outlined the lesson on the chalkboard, then asked me up to her desk.
"Yes, Professor McGonnagal?"
"Shae, I would like you to see Madame Pomfrey, right now."
I was stunned. There wasn't anything wrong with me, was there? "Why?"
"It's that thing on your forehead, I want to see that it gets identified, if not removed."
My heart sank. That spell I'd used on my hair only lasted two days. I had forgotten all about the stone this morning when I had woken up.
I nodded at her and left the room. As soon as I was outside the door, I cast the spell again. This time I put all my hair in little braids, most of them curling around my head like a hat, only ten or fifteen of them actually hanging down.

Ok- I am in potions. Who needs last names Just say Snape snarls and says "that thrid year". He hates smart people Brandon slunk down in his chair. "Miss Keaves and Mr.... ah, I seem to have forgotten. Well, Brandon, come up here and join Miss Keaves." Brandon almost fell off the chair. He grabbed his stuff and sat as far from Marie as the table would allow.

Marie rolled her eyes and prepared equipment. Why was he avoiding her like this? Did he think that she knew something that he wanted to keep secret? All she knew was that he visits Gryffindor Tower late at night, but she didn't think that was it. No... It was...something else. This isn't the time to think about it. She thought.
"Well... Brandon. Why don't you go get the ingredients while I finish setting up? And, please scoot your chair closer. It's better if we work as a team." Marie smiled.

He began measuring the ingredients. "3 lionfish spines... two toadstools... pinch of powdered wolfsbane..." Brandon sowre never ot go for advanced classes again.

Taking long strides, it wasn't long before I reached the hospital wing. I did want to know what it was, but I didn't exactly want it removed... yet.
"Madame Pomfrey?" I called into the hospital wing.
"Yes, dear? What seems to be the problem?"
I took a deep breath and poked my hair with my wand. The braids all moved away from my forehead, revealing the intricate design of black and white metal, with that infernal head in the center.
"I got this on the night of the Yule Ball. I got struck by lightning when I was standing out on the lake, and this-it used to be a blue stone ornament-sort of became part of my skin. I think it's magical-I haven't been able to get it off. One of my friends tried a Severing charm on it, but the gem just blasted her back. Then it talked. I'm not sure what it is-do you know? If I can't get the darn thing off, I at least want to know what it is."
Madame Pomfrey frowned and went over to a bookshelf, taking a few minutes to find a book. She leafed through it and put it down, picking up another. Apparently, she didn't know what it could be, either.

Marie frowned, "If you don't move, I will." She said stubbornly. She carefully pushed all the things on the desk/table closer to the boy, then moved over her chair along with herself. She began measuring the ingredients also; double checking measurements and directions.
"By the way, I'd like to ask. Why did you avoid me in the hall this morning?" She said, still semi-focussed on her work.

Brandon frowned.
He had no answer to that one.
He pretended to have not heard her nad continued with the potion.
