On the contrary: I'm a math major, I've spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking in one, two, and even four or more dimensions.

Solid or not, if all you have is a linear one-dimensional object, you can at most have "gaps" of space between particles in what would count as a single body. As far as I know, even in quantum physics it isn't possible for two particles to pass through one another. So since there isn't any way for two particles going in opposite directions to pass around one another (since we are talking about one dimension, after all), they would simply collide and bounce apart.

Of course, if A Wizard Did It, all bets are off.

Since when did the laws of quantum physics apply to a single dimension? We only have stuff from 3, and we don't even know all that for sure xD
