"I wasn't planning on it. What's the trouble, sir?"
"There ain't gonna be no trouble, are we clear on that?" For all his fancy clothes. it was pretty clear that this man was not part of the upper class. He didn't talk like them. One could only speculate as to how he got his money. He seems to be intently aware that he has talked too much, but he keeps talking out of sheer nervousness. "You're all gonna keep yer mitts where I can see 'em."
The barman raised his hands in surrender, but his voice was still full of fight. "Now listen here, this young lady ain't done nothin' wrong. I don't hire bad people at my bar. She's just a shy little girl."
"You have no idea what she's worth to me."
"Yasmin, do you know this man?" the barman asks urgently. Yasmin manages a quick shake of the head before her captor increases the pressure on her throat. She brings her hands up to try to pry his arm off of her, but he pistol-whips her in the head. She goes limp as a rag doll.
... Except now he has 100+ pounds of unconscious girl to deal with. He gets distracted for just long enough for Simone to see an opening. (Sorry, guys but she's the one who readied her weapon. XD)

((Actually, I'd think Leroy's weapon is more readied than Simone's. He's actually got his hand on his gun, whereas Simone merely twitched towards her weapon before stopping herself.))

Leroy didn't hesitate when he saw the girl go limp, whipping out his gun at the man. This had officially gone too far. He aimed at an open spot on one of the man's legs, hoping it would be enough to stop him from doing anything further without causing anything fatal. "Sorry, friend, but you brought this on yourself," he said as he pulled the trigger.
((Sorry about the late reply, guys.. I'm visiting a friend for the weekend and though I'd have more computer time. ))

Guns weren’t generally good things to see. Ammerat eyed the one pointed in his general direction with distaste, but didn’t say anything in reply. Not moving seemed like a very good idea when there were guns out. Unless the moving meant finding cover and staying there until the guns got put away, but that didn’t seem like the brightest of ideas right now. Ammerat tried to keep himself calm, but more than anything else, he wanted to get back to Joy and fly somewhere else. It’d be nice to get some money out of that, but if sanity required leaving, he’d leave anyway.
And then people started talking and the girl fell unconscious. Ammerat started as a gun fired; he didn’t care whether or not it’d hit. Either way, nothing could would come of this. Making sure that there wasn’t a gun aimed towards him, Ammerat headed for cover as quickly as he could.

[glow=red,2,300]BATTLE TUTORIAL TIME! First off, everyone who's fighting has to roll initiative. That's your Agility and your Alertness dice. Since Purple took the first shot, she doesn't have to roll. She automatically goes first. To thems of you who start off shivering behind a barstool and want to get in on the action later, you can roll Initiative whenever you decide to pop in. Remember that you can take multiple actions per turn, (such as shooting then ducking behind something) but it will cost you. You go down one skill level (say, from a d6 to a d4). If you want to get fancypants, you can spend a turn aiming, or try doing stuff like feinting and grappling. Then there's All Out Attack mode. That'll be funtimes. Now first we roll to see if Purple hits. Leroy's skill with Pistols is a d8, plus a d8 Agility. I'd say that having to hit a target as specific as the leg while this man is holding the girl (however roughly) is a difficulty of 7. Because one way or another, he's a dumb immobile target. [dice=8] [dice=8] And he hits. ^_^ Wow, character genders vs people genders are gonna get confusing. I feel odd calling Purple a he. Pistols do d6 Wound damage, so next Purple rolls a d6. [dice=6] The shot grazes the man's leg, but it's clearly only a flesh wound. His fancy pants are wrecked, though. P.S. Found out earlier that my suspicions were correct. Apparently the amount of starting money in the manual is some sort of typo or another. I gave you guys way too much. .... Oh well. So Shade, what kinda cover are you looking for? Just ducking under the table or something more substantial, like the bar? Warning, the bar's a little farther away. I'm gonna be busy for a few days, basically until the 5th. So that'll give you enough time to figure out how to not fail. <3 [/glow] The captor's initiative: [dice=6][dice=8] = 8 Roll! [rand=66082159250427279070340308779858446722940312282438584361976171835]

Alexander jumped back when the hostage-taker knocked the girl unconscious, and now that he heard a gunshot, threw himself on the ground. He did not want to get shot! It generally led to him almost dying! Alexander attempts to squirm under a nearby table.

When the girl fainted, Simone drew her gun quickly, but the other man was quicker. The shot just grazed him, but Simone got a little bit of pleasure out of seeing the man's fancy pants ruined. Simone trained her gun on the man as most other people in the bar dove for cover.
"Now I asked nicely the first time. I'm not as inclined to be polite now. So you tell me what's going on, or all the money you spent on that very fine suit will go to waste."
Simone didn't know the man who had shot, and she didn't care; if the suit-man thought they were working together, all well and good. Two guns were far more intimidating than one.

((Clearly, the words "roll initiative" mean nothing. XD))
Two guns were more intimidating than one. The man was starting to understand exactly how reckless his plans were. But he also knew he wasn't getting far on an injured leg.
He drops the girl and bolts for it anyway.
*rolls some dice IRL so you an't see. Yes, I'll be doing that sometimes*
