I love this idea, and I'd be happy with any role in this. xD

This sounds like a good idea, and the rules posted seem very sound. I'd certainly participate.

I'll get in on this. ^__^ It fits in nicely with my idea of having other guilds hire Mercs for missions, which would require currency of some kind. Of course, to make this work, any services offered would have to require some actual work, not just "Elycien sneaks into the evil lord's castle and assassinates him because the Knight Guild hired her to." That'd be too easy.

Couldn't everyone just not buy from the Guild's shop that is currently in the lead?
Sounds like it could be easily unbalanced. XD

XD That would mean the shop till totals would need to be updated constantly. It wouldn't really be unbalanced, at least as far as I can tell. Each guild is given the same amount of money to spend, not each member. So the maximum possible amount of money to be made is the same for each guild. In the end, it all comes down to advertising.

I've started setting up the mage shop and got a couple of magly artists who may draw some special items and whatnot, but what sort of pricing is good? Is there a ratio for shinies? xD

I just use 1 shiny=1 US dollar. Check the Spacefleet Gift Shop for price ranges. Of course, most of what I have there is pretty inexpensive, touristy stuff--if you were selling more valuable things, you might want to price higher. Use your own judgment, I guess.

Shoi, the tag at the front should be [NIN] for ninjas like the one for mages is [MAG].

Shoi, the tag at the front should be [NIN] for ninjas like the one for mages is [MAG]. Dunno if we should actually bother with the tagging. Most of the time the thread title is already a good giveaway for the guild. I s'pose we can tag them if the title is really ambiguous, but otherwise I don't see much point in it, especially if we intend to make guilds more approachable. ...actually, for the shopwars it'd even pay to add Shop tags, to make it easier to find the shop threads, but even that can be a temporary thing.

I was working from the point that we'd discussed earlier when I thought the whole guild board would be flooded, but it doesn't look so busy as I thought it might be. It is sort of disappointing in an odd way.

You might notice that I've been using [BRACKETED] type titles for a while now - my other posts are [PRACTICE], [ART], etc. This draws attention to a post by type, as people are generally only looking for certain kinds of things anyway... I also feel it brings a certain "professional" bent to it, which people seem to instinctively appreciate.
I personally prefer the type of thing more than the guild involved. As was noted, it should be obvious which guild a post is involved with.... or, if it's a bit vague, it might just be a bit of incentive for people to read the post and figure it out ^_^
EDIT: On reflection, I figured "why can't I do both at once?" and so I am. I now use [NINJA - TYPE].

I also feel it brings a certain "professional" bent to it, which people seem to instinctively appreciate. Well, I'd rather not have the entire place get tagged with capslocked titles, it'd be everything but professional. Not to mention the more caps, the less attention it draws by default, because then there's nothing to stand out from the mass. In netiquette, caps equal yelling, and people who've roamed the depths of the internet for a longer time generally dislike them no matter what the content, so having too much of them around would most probably be highly counterproductive.
