Miri watched the interaction between the four of the remaining people in the cafeteria with great interest. She didn't see much friendliness in the Asylum, so this was one of the few rare events. She was especially curious about the conversation with the Harrys and The Aritist, and she couldn't help but let out a small, rare smile. Even if she never really talked much to anyone, she always liked The Artist. She made pretty stuff and Miri never remembered a time where The Artist wasn't nice. How[\i] The Artist managed to keep herself after being here for some time, Miri never knew.
After watching the conversation, Miri got up and headed towards the courtyard, looking around and still keeping an eye on any nurse that might also be in the halls... or anywhere, for that matter. Thankfully, she managed to have a nurse-less walk, and she arrived at the courtyard, where she sat on a bench and looked up towards where the sun was shining. Miri loved the courtyard; it was the prettiest place here and had the best window to see through.

((Considering no one wants to do anything, we have three options: 1. Zander does something that will hopefully make stuff happen. 2. We timeskip to later in this same day 3. We timeskip to "tonight" where major plot things will happen and our characters will start developing powers.
Which do you guys prefer?))

((Me sixth! I feel like I have nothing to really do right now anyway, and if some major stuff happens in the plot it'll really give me the opportunity to expand my character. Plus I decided what power he has.))

Zander woke in the middle of the night with a pounding headache, a metallic taste in his mouth, and vague memories of a nightmare that were fading faster than he could think. It took a few minutes for him to remember what had happened: he'd been taken away for treatment, shortly before dinner. At this he tried harder than ever to recollect his fading memories, realizing as he always did that these were probably his mind's only remnants of whatever had happened during that time interval, but his memories of those hours were already long gone.
Frustrated, he rolled over onto his stomach with a sigh. At least this time he hadn't been placed in isolation. Despite losing his temper with several of the patients, he'd managed to avoid completely snapping all day. Now, he could have a full night's sleep - or however long was left in the night - in the comforts of his own barren room.
As he rolled onto his side and attempted to settle in to sleep, it happened. A violent tremor which ran through the room - through his mind - a disturbance which reminded him of an earthquake, though nothing had actually physically moved. In the brief moment of its peak, he felt a searing pain in the back of his skull where his occasional migraines usually occurred, but this was not the prolonged headache he was used to. As soon as the bizarre metaphysical quake passed, so did the pain.
Zander sat up, no longer interested in sleep in the least. What on earth had just happened? Had he imagined it all, or had some sort of... psychic earthquake just passed through the Asylum? He felt stupid just thinking the words, but that sudden sense of disorientation and movement hadn't been imaginary. Neither was the pain.
He eyed the door, wondering if it was worth getting up for. The nurses got tetchy when people wandered around at night, but they didn't always catch you at it.
((Okay. There it is. It's up to you guys whether you want to continue at this time frame, or start it up again in the next morning. Just a few things: -Zander's head pain was mostly a reaction specific to him, though some other characters may experience similar sensations in the same area of their skulls. Yes, plot-related. -There aren't any staff about at this hour of the night. -The nurses did not feel the Rift quake, nor will they mention it in the morning. -The characters will begin to develop their powers now - gradually. They won't be immediately aware of them, and when they do become aware of it they won't be immediately able to control them. It's a slower process.))

Able woke up in the middle of a wonderful dream. What was that tingly sensation, it was pain, but he wasn't feeling it. What was going on? " I guess I need more sleep." He whispered before slowly drifting off to sleep.
-----------
Early in the morning Cain woke up, extremely grumpy, like usual. The nurse poked her head in " T-time f-for b-b-b-breakfast." she said. Cain was getting angrier, he hated these nurses sooo much. " I KNOW!" he yelled. " AAAAHH" she screamed, turning around, before yelling again, " AAAHHH SNAKE!! HELP!!!" she shrieked, followed by her fainting. Cain walked out, looked around, there was no snake. " And they say we're the insane ones."

Hope awoke with a start. She felt rather strange, almost like she had a head cold, but she couldn't figure out what had awakened her. She looked around her room but it was still too dark to see anything, and she couldn't hear anything either. She wondered if perhaps something in the hallway had woken her, and she quickly got up and walked out into the hallway. To her surprise she saw nothing. She clutched her head; it felt extremely fuzzy, uncomfortably so. The hallways were still lit, and Hope decided to take a short walk. She rather liked the Asylum early in the dawn, so empty of people and so quiet. Perhaps she could get a glimpse of the skylights called stars from the courtyard this morning, fading though they would be. Smiling, she strolled down the hall.

Pressure. Movement. These were the sensations running through Taliesin's mind as he woke in the darkness of his room. It felt as though he was moving. The pressure built up around his head, compressing his mind from all angles until it began to hurt. He curled up in a ball and whimpered, clutching his head, trying to block out the sensation with his hands. But it was not physical, the pressure was something inside his head and the pain was in his mind. He curled up tighter.
It was sudden and then it was gone. He uncurled himself, sweating and feeling slightly nauseous.
Perhaps he was sick? He had spent most of the day exploring the empty corridor that lay parallel to this one. Perhaps something there had infected him. He stood up, his feet thwacking the cold floor, and went to the bathroom to splash his face with equally cold water.
He didn't go back into his room. He sank onto the cold floor in the bathroom and leaned his head against the hard stone walls.
((Elcie, is that ok?))
