You know, NaNo is a strange thing to call this, because it generally means small...
But anyway. I will be attempting this thing, in one way or another. I have an idea but I can almost guarantee that it will turn out nothing like this. If I even finish it
More stuff coming soon.
Okay, time to get this nice and set up.
Okay, since I'm not one for planning, but scared out of my wits of trying to write a 50,000 word story without any, I've decided to jot down an absolute tonne of random stuff to do with my idea I think of in here, and then try and use as much as I can during the story. I think I may enjoy this!
Hmm... the way this is shaping up, it looks like it might have a bit of comedy in it... but that's up to my subconcious.

Okay, since I'm not one for planning, but scared out of my wits of trying to write a 50,000 word story without any, I've decided to jot down an absolute tonne of random stuff to do with my idea I think of in here, and then try and use as much as I can during the story. I think I may enjoy this!
- The first time travellers. They made a time machine that only goes forwards in 1967, but forgot to leave behind the designs and a note explaining where they had been. They think it'll take 40 years to develop backwards time travel, so they're going to patent their machine and go forwards 40 years so they can get back home and patent all of it back then. Trouble is, they lost a part in a dimension crash and can't patent the machine without it. The dimension crash also altered their course to another dimension.
- The Pinecone Bomber. He builds grenades and sometimes other weapons from pinecones, which makes them undetectable. He's paranoid about being chased by the Canopy Cops, but they haven't heard of him because none of his victims have been found. He finds the part the time travellers need on the body of a victim, but thinks it's junk and throws it away. He hopes to one day build the ultimate bomb - one strong enough to fell a Tree, so he can use it for ransome.
- Trees. These are the cities of the Tree people. Range in size from small to big, the biggest inhabited Tree is about the size of a large Oak. Tree people are sized to suit the tree - in fact they are pretty much the size of an acorn. Leaves are residential, branches for small business and the big corporations can rent space in the trunk.
- The Munks. These are the reason Tree people are unable to walk on the ground. Munks eat stray Tree people, and occasionaly the odd bit of vegetation if they go hungry. One eats the part that the time traveller needs. Once again smaller than a human... in fact they are surprisingly about the size of a chipmunk.
- Pro Tech Incorperated. A large company that mainly deals in the defense of Trees from Munks. They built a shrinking ray meant to be used to stop Munks from knawing at the Tree. When tested, the device dissapeared into thin air. This causes the dimension crash and shrinks the time travellers to the size of Tree people.
- Birds. Migrating birds are used to send things from one Tree to another. There are alot of migrating birds in the world, and they all go at different times, but you still might have to wait up to three quarters of a year to send to the right place, depending on where you want to send to. Some of the larger birds are used for transporting Tree people, but mostly that it done instead by the slower, safer method of Glide Cars.
- Glide Cars. A vehicle designed by Pro Tech Inc. that enables Tree people to get safely from one tree to another. It acts as a glider from the top of the Tree to help get past the Munks, and then once it hits the ground it travels to the destination Tree on an engine which runs by sap (non-pollutant, by the way). At the end of the journey, they beat the Munks yet again by activating a loaded spring, which pushes them up into the air above the height of the docking bay. Which they then glide into. Glide Cars are about the size of a pinecone, seating four Tree people. Anyone can drive them, but must take a course first.

This is a list of all my accepted dares and some notes on how I plan to put them in.
- From Zylaa:
Dare: Include a black forest cake in the story.
Bonus points: If the cake is somehow described as "deliciously moist"
Triple score: If the cake is a lie.
The time travellers will be carrying a cake with them as a snack. It is accidentaly dropped during the dimension crash, and they see it, normal sized, near the Tree. They think that it may help them get back to their dimension, but none of the Tree people will help because they cannot see it and think it is a lie. - From Sammy:
Dare: Have the first letter of each chapter spell out a phrase.
Double Points: If the phrase is an NTWF inside joke.
Triple Points: If the phrase is a key phrase to the NaNo.
I don't even know how many chapters I'm going to have yet, but I'm going to go for this. - From Sam:
Dare: Give each of your main/supporting characters a catch phrase.
Double Points: If each character says their catch phrase at least 15 times throughout the course of the book.
Triple Points: If each character with a catch phrase is in a scene where they all say their catch phrases consecutively, regardless of how much sense it makes.
I just liked the look of the last one xD There's only about 4 charachters I know of so far that suit this, but there should be more by the end. And seriously, I can't wait for the scene with the multi-catch phrasing xDDD
