THAT DREADED TIME HAS ARRIVED ONCE AGAIN D:
Doomed Attempt at NaNo, The First; 2,000 words. An awful failure of a novel, with a delicious adopted plot that I'd like to get back to.
Doomed Attempt at ScriptFrenzy, The First; 9,156 words. A fantasy screenplay that never really got off the ground. I may go back to it - I looked the chemistry between one of the MCs and the male almost-MC.
Doomed Attempt at NaNo, The Second; 50,030 words. A success, but at the same time a failure. It was a romance, but I got too behind, and in padding, I had one MC run over, the other take an around-the-world trip and the planet was invaded by weasels.
Doomed Attempt at ScriptFrenzy, The Second; 3,013 This was my second NaNo's plot, in screenplay form. I wanted to go back to it, because one of the MCs, Kita, was so adorable, I really wanted to get her with the other MC (Meiko).
Doomed Attempt at NaNo, The Third; This years novel. Plot coming soon; still deciding which idea to work on.

Invading a planet with weasels is in no way a failure! Good luck!

Azzie - Thank you, I'll need all that luck x3 Zylaa - Of course not, but when it's meant to be a deeply emotional romance...weasels = not so good xD RIGHT. I have settled on a plot. I had a couple of ideas spinning around, all of them clichéd and awful D= But I've picked the best of the worst, mostly for the MC <33 The year is 3020. The world is awash with poverty and the land is baron. Few things are in abundance. The countries have banded together in an attempt to make the world a Happier place. In a block of council flats that was once the Houses of Parliament in London, the Office holds its first meeting. They have big plans for the world. They have it all; a charismatic, handsome leader, Eric Huntingdon, a brilliant economic mastermind, Arnold Fisher, and some eager followers to boot. The world is hyped up on thoughts of re-inventing the current, dim reality, making it what they have only dreamt about; like the Old Worlds.
That is, until Eric Huntingdon’s family is murdered in a bloody massacre one night in Elephant and Castle.
Reasons to do this: It seems kind of…fun to do. I can really do what I want, make up laws. Have control over Earth without going it to fantasy (which I have vowed not to!). Also, I think, even though he is but a bud of a character, I think I’ve fallen for Eric Huntingdon <3 I’ll have to postpone the death of his family for as long as possible to keep him happy!
Reasons NOT to do this: For one thing, the whole life-in-the-future-will-be-stark-and-people-will-be-unhappy-and-want-to-die kind of thing has already been done, a ton of times. Also, I’m not really sure where I’m going with this. I think I have the rough idea that it’s something to do with the black market, the mafia (perhaps even the Tafia - the Welsh mafia. Yes, it really does exist). But I don’t know if it would work that well…
I'm still not sure though, for reasons listed. The only thing that keeps me to it is the new love of my life. I think it's terribly sad when you fall for your fictional creations ;____; Would love to hear opinions, no matter how harsh?

I really like that idea. <3 It sounds like something I'd read. ^_^

...This sounds cool. Besides, "it's been done"? Everything has been done. And if you really do want to do it, then you'll find out where you want to go with it during Nano. <3 Besides, you have a month. ...but it sounds really cool.

... Personally, I think most epic romances would be improved by an invasion of weasels. But that's just me and my semi-Infernokrusher attitude towards all romance. XD And I love dystopia and doom! This sounds like fun. ... In a very not-fun sense, of course.

Right then. With your encouragement, and my lack of other ideas, I'm going with this plot. After shouldering it to the back of my mind, I've realised it probably needs my love and attention. So here it is. I've been toying with names a lot. Titles are...not my forté, to say the least. Any ideas would be appreciated. Less Than Zero After the Fall
I have a few more, but they are hardly worth mentioning. As you can see, I'm in need of dire help. *goes to plough through the NaNo Adopt-a-Title thread*

I have a few rubbishy title ideas for you. Remember that you can just use a working name, and save the job of picking the "right" title until the story is done. Ashes of Empire Desert Black Project Phoenix Huntingdon's Last Stand
...I don't know. xD Good luck finding one that fits.

I quite like Ashes of Empire, but I think I'll stick with Less Than Zero as a temporary title, until one sticks to it. I'm mostly staying with that one because it's the title of an Elvis Costello song XD Anyway; no new developments. >_>;; My NaNo has taken a back seat to other works I've got on the go, but this week I'll start work on it again. Today, I sorted out his family tree a bit, though: Great-Great Grandmother -M- Great-Great Grandfather Both fully Dutch. Met during the war (French/English). Had one child: Great Grandmother -M - Great Grandfather Both fully Dutch. Met at college. Had two children: Great Aunt (never married) - Grandmother -M- Grandfather Had one child: Sarah Huntingdon (nee Keeser) -M- Jack Huntingdon She moved to Northen England about five years before it was evacuated, and England was made a no-go zone for anyone without a island visa. It was in Scotland she met Jack, at the place where she worked (a tailors) and they got married three years later. Great-Great Grandmother -M- Great-Great Grandfather Both fully Finnish. Had two children: Great-Great Uncle - Great-Grandfather -M- Great-Grandmother Moved to England together, after being married for nine years, with their three children: Great Aunt - Great Uncle - Great Uncle - Grandmother -M- Grandfather Grandfather went to Ireland on holiday, where these two met. Grandmother is fully Irish. Lived in Ireland for six years with their two children, before moving to Birmingham. Uncle - Jack Huntingdon -M- Sarah Huntingdon Jack moved up to Scotland when he was 21, to study. It was here he met Sarah. He was previously married for two years to an Australian lady. Had one child. Eric Huntingdon -M- Amanda Tanguma Eric is half Dutch, a quarter Finnish and a quarter Irish. Amanda is half Cherokee and half English. They lived on the same street as children, and we're friends. When they were 17, they started courting (*giggle*), and Eric proposed nine years later (finally!). They got married 6 months later. They've been married for a further three years now, with two kids: Jack and Charlie Huntingdon Jack: Named, obviously, after his grandfather. Five years old. Charlie: Two years old. Tomorrow I hope to get around to clearing up the no-go areas of England (i.e. nearly all of it), the visas, and how it's possible to get around.

I have a project, and I want to do a Christmas story for the NT. So I won't be doing it this year.

So I started as soon as it hit midnight, did about four word wars, and head off with 1,485 words. When I awake, I think I'll probably do another five thousand, more if I can, since I know I'm going to have serious trouble once my mock exams start.

Update: Reach 2,271 words tonight, which is about three thousand words short of my target XD Ah well, I got lazy.
I'm really struggling to keep things happening. I might have to work on getting the family killed off faster than I expected, or something. (And I don't mean planning - I loathe planning XD)

I've decided to scrap all thoughts of plot. I'm doing a bit of everything in a non-fiction piece. It consists, so far, of mostly human behavioural analyst, with a bit of biographical work thrown in for good measure!
>_> Which means I have to start a-fresh... *gets writing* If anyone feels like warring, feel free to add me on MSN or AIM to do so ^_^
