He’d seen close groups of friends hanging out with each other before. They made jokes, always, talked with each other, sometimes about stupid things, like ruling their own country, or elaborate excuses for not having done a homework assignment. But there was something memory-building in the experience; Dimitri had gotten close enough to almost feel that happening, and could almost see the bonds between them building, as if tiny spiders scuttled about on jewel-colored webs netted that defied space and always held them together.

Oh! I thought this was one sentence at first. Now I see it's three, which makes me feel a little better; this is all one paragraph, and I was a little concerned there. It does need the other two sentences to make sense, which is why they're there.

Otherwise, all you have are spiders, and that's just wierd on its own.

It's part of a longer paragraph that this one guy who I really adore and love says about their enemies allowing women to be in the Guard. It's set in a world that's like... back a couple hundred years or so, which is why he says it and that line amuses me to no end. <3 I had to post it while it was still my last sentence.
