So, I first found out about NaNoWriMo last year; I was given about four hours a week to work on the project, and I reached 50,000 words...and it's still not quite done. My goal is to finish editing my current novel, and finish up last year's NaNoWriMo before November. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to 50,000 words this time...but I really want to go for it again. Besides, I've got characters and a rough plot and everything ^^ So...stuff. LOGNewer logs in new posts below!Phew! Just in time, I finished editing my summer novel. I'm going to let it sit for November, and once NaNo's over, my plan is to get it out again, and while typing in the new edits, I'll probably make some more changes. But wahoo, it's done! Created some more in-depth character profiles; everybody has full names now, with the exception of three, one who at least has a first name and a couple possibilities. I also filled out some of a plot sheet; I basically used the template for a sheet I got for last years NaNoWriMo. It's the awesome-est plot sheet ever =) I didn't fill out the entire thing, because I wanted to leave something I'd have to make up while writing Heh...I've got names for the characters in the other NaNo I was considering...well, first names, anyways. I don't like the last name I have for my female protagonist, and my male protag. and the antag. don't have last names at all yet.
So...I'm reconsidering my current novel. I have another one I started planning...agh. I guess whichever one has a more coherant plot first will be written *nod, nod*
More plot work; I've got a couple ideas for antagonists. By which I mean two. Yay.
Wrote out a rough plot. It's looking good...but I think I need actual antagonists, otherwise, one of the plot events is going to be hard to make happen XP Also deepened one of the characters' personalities. She needed it.
Well...a combination of real-life events, a character based on a cat, music from Serenada Schizophrenia, and a sketchbook have formed two characters and a plot. Looks like I've got my WriMo material

November 1st
...Right. Don't need to keep all my updates there *eyeroll* Geez.
I wrote 2,164 words before ten AM my time (woke up at six =) ), and hit 3,035 after an evening writing spell. I should have done a bit more planning- I don't have a name for two teachers, a city, a subdivision, two streets, and a school >.< Whoops. I at least figured out everybody's appearance. Yay.
I'm very happy to finally be starting NaNo. I don't like my beginning much; the situation seems too calm, and even though I'm throwing in little things to make a reader go, "Why on Earth..." I'm not sure how well it'll work. I did get to start writing in (no offence to my other one) my favorite MC's viewpoint. Still feels a little too normal, but I think the hints are definitly more obvious when he's the one giving them.
Gah. The NaNo site won't let me update my word count!
Later- So, I sign off for the night with 3,539 words ^^ I'm going to a writing workshop tomorrow, which will be interesting, and possibly helpful. Yay for writing stuff!
Not yay for overloaded NaNo site =(

November 2nd
Well, I managed to get another 1,667 words in today, even though I was ahead of quota yesterday =) I'm at 5,325 words right now, and I think I'm done for the night.
I didn't actually get very far within the story, but I feel like I'm getting to know Dimitri better. And Tori's parents have names and occupations. Yay!
Writing workshop- it was about making good characters, and it was all stuff I pretty much knew already. And I got ridiculously lost on the way home; I've never driven in that city before, never seen the part we were in at all. We eventually pulled over at a glorified cemetary, and called for Mapquest directions from there. Obviously, we got home fine, but it did take NaNo time from me...as did a project I put off. Yeah.
I'm hoping for more delving tomorrow, but not counting on it. Tuesday, though. I should get plenty done Tuesday =)

November 3rdWell...so much for not getting work done! My goal today was 6,873 words. I'm currently at over 8,000. I finally got into some conflict situations I'm loving my two protagonists a lot ^^ The intro's still a little slow, but I'm enjoying writing their conversations. I've pretty much found my music for the novel. Last year's NaNo was Star Wars; this year, I'm using a bit of Spider-Man II, some Lady in the Water music I found on Youtube (James Newton Howard ^^), Manheim Steamroller's "Stille Nacht", and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "The Wisdom of Snow" and "Christmas Bells, Carousels, and Time". I was using the Mulan and Unbreakable ( awesome movie!) soundtracks while plotting, and I'll probably have some scenes set to their music a little later on. Signing off with 8,255 words- and yay, the site let me update my word count! 'Til tomorrow, fellow WriMos!

November 4thGoal today was 9,922 words; I hit 10,922. Woah. Exactly a thousand more than I was aiming for. Really, it's not that awesome; considering the amount of time I had to work on this today... Ah well. I'm catching up with all the 11K writers I've been envying the past few days XD I found out that somebody posted pretty much all of the Unbreakable soundtrack tracks on YouTube about two weeks ago, which means I don't have to use the "mashed" one I swear, YouTube is psychic; I was looking for Treasure Planet music over the summer, and two weeks later, bam- somebody uploaded all of the tracks. Wierdness. But good wierdness. Only bad thing is that they didn't upload "Mr Glass/End Titles", which would probably have had the most perfect sinister music... Ah well. I'm sure it'll be up in about two weeks.

November 5th
Not the best day for my NaNo >< I was feeling a little uninspired, especially after I found out Michael Crichton, one of my favorite authors, died yesterday. I just barely made my word count, but apparantly, I'm about two days ahead of schedule, so I can be a little lax.
Good news- I'm getting close(r) to one of the scenes I'm really looking forward to writing. And I got out of the scene that's bugging the heck out of me. I want to edit REALLY badly, but I can't...
May I remember to finish editing other projects way before NaNo next year.

November 6thWhew! I was afraid I wasn't going to make quota today, but I did. Tonight was not a good night for NaNo- I have a play to go see, and it'll probably going to go from eight to ten; eight to ten are my best writing hours But under that pressure, I got it done, and I finally wrapped up the more boring scenes; just another paragraph or two of exposition, and I get to start the good stuff. Hurrah!

November 7th
Long story short- I managed quota, but it wasn't pretty. I'm operating on five hours of sleep, and would have liked to get to bed earlier...but I had stuff to do all afternoon/evening, so that leaves nighttime. Yay.
Started the interesting parts though ^^ Yay!

November 8th
=) Much better day today. My word count goal was 17,921, and I got to 21,946. It's a Saturday, and I got to one of my most-anticipated parts. And it came out really well, too. I think, anyways.
So...I'm past the 20,000 mark, I'm into more interesting stuff, and loving the story. Another awesome day in NaNo-land.

November 9th
Made it to my 23,613 word count goal, though not much higher. A little less exciting stuff to write today, and I went to the library for a few hours (only checking out one book- 'tis NaNo month, after all), and I have playing tests I had to practice for.
But it's going well. I'm having fun ^^

November 10-12th
I felt like I wasn't actually saying much in my logs, so I suppose condensing them works...I mean, I doubt people are reading it, but if there were, I think "This was my word count. I reached it =D" gets dull after a while.
...My word count was 28,311. I reached it =D
Just barely, though. My inspiration's been at a pretty ridiculous low, and tonight I got so busy I was sure I wouldn't be able to get all my words in. Apparantly, though, I can do 1,667 words in about...an hour and a half, if I'm not checking the Internet every five minutes =P
I'm a little worried though- I've tried backing up my NaNo by sending it to my e-mail...but it seems to only be opening on my computer, which won't do me much good if the entire thing crashes =/ The two other computers I've tried can't, for some reason, figure out the file type. I have one more backup computer I'll have to check, but I guess if that doesn't work, I need to get a disk set up for read-writing (or whatever it's called). Please don't do anything stupid, computer *pets*

November 15th
Not much to report. I saw something on the NaNo site about 20,000 words being the "lowest" period of the month. I think for me, it hits around 30,000 words instead >< But I'm working through it, with the help of Thanksgiving =) Yay!
And I didn't write yesterday; I was busy, and had blood drawn, so I went to bed at like...nine. No up-late NaNo for me XP

November 16thWow. It took pretty much the entire day for me to get to my wordcount XP I was feeling more motivated to rewrite Howler's petpage. So if you want to see what I really put effort into today, go here!

November 19-20th
...Yeah. I had a lot of outside stuff to do, so my NaNo's had some lovely days of being under-quota T_T Today was my first day actually getting up to quota this week XD
But I'm at 40K now...a little over it, actually. 40,000 word- "light". Very dramatic. But I did get back into interesting plot stuff, so ideally, that'll help me keep going ^^

November 23rd
Well, I'm now a little less than 3,000 words away from 50K...wow. As with last year's NaNo, I'm still not even quite halfway through the plot yet =) 3,000 words...that's really kind of scary!
