 This is wierd. I couldn't log into my account so created a new one with the same username and can't access that one either. And now I got an email that my new account is pending admin approval. What is going on? What happened to my old account (bearing in mind that I was there just last week)? I'm worried! D= |

Huh...it won't let me log in either 0_o
Of course, it says in the news blog that the site can now break in "exciting new ways"...my guess is that this is one of them. *Kicks dysfunctional coding*

I can't even get the site to load for me right now. I've been having problems with it doing that since last night, although it's nearly always slow for me.

Maybe it' a bandwith issue or something... I mean, it is October 1st and that's the day they usually opened signed ups. So maybe there's too many people trying to access the site at the same time and it's causing trouble.
Otherwise I don't know. ^^;

They were having some problems with their servers today. Yay Twitter for telling me. =] In case tweeters want to add them they are here! =) |

Got on the site, finally. Seems they were having some bad server issues. In the wee hours of October 1, after running like a brave champion, one of our two database servers, Lekempti, had what looks to be a very grave hardware failure.
Lekempti is off-line now, and is getting new android guts installed.
In the meantime, we're working on installing back-ups and relaunching the site with a single, smaller server, the adorable Djimmah.
Until we get Lekempti back online, things will be pokey. We apologize for the inconvenience, and look forward to the resumption of awesomeness soon.
In the meantime, we invite you to browse the exciting NaNoWriMo donor goodies and ogle the devilishly good-looking models in the NaNoWriMo store.

I got on the site, but my account must have been erased with the server fix. So I simply created a new one with the same username, no problem^^

I'm VERRRRY excited for Nano this year  It's going to be my fifth year (o_0 time flies) and last year was the first time I didn't finish. It's okay though - I'm just more revved up for this year >D To anyone who's debating : Give it a shot! NaNo is a BLAST and even if you don't make it or have to quit, it's no biggie.  It's a very supportive, fun environment - I can't say enough good things about it. |

What I love most about NaNo is the can-do spirit, the mutual encouragement, the sheer madness of writing a first draft in one month.  It's so inspiring! I won last year, and I started with only one character and a couple plot notes. I've planned way more this year. It will be interesting to see if that makes the process easier or ten times harder... I can't wait for November |

Yuka, I'm the exact opposite XD Last year my plot was incredibly complex and planned in advance, this year... I have four characters and a vague plot outline. I know it's still a couple of weeks off, but I'd like to wish everyone luck! It's very cool to have a month-long challenge that loads of people participate in. (I guess the artists' equivalent is the 24-hour comic. X3) |
