[glow=red,2,300](My apologies for the delay. P.S. The stench of rotting cheesyplot fills the air.)
As Amnei and Vyt clean up the cards, the master's voice speaks from the balcony.
"And so the strongest is selected... but will you be strong enough to serve my purpose?"
The two maids flank Vyt. They are meant to escort, but somehow the word "flank" comes to mind. There is something threatening about it. One of the maids looks like it got into a fight with a towel rack and lost. Her sleeve is torn. Her arm is bronze, and one can hear the gears inside it.
"Meet me in the basement. My maids will escort you."
The basement is dimly-lit, and warmer than one would normally keep a basement. Uncomfortably warm, in fact. In the middle of the floor, a circle is painted on the floor in black ink. Runes are painted in the circle. Hanging from the ceiling in the very center is Scar's pocketwatch.
The maids push Vyt into the circle and erect an invisible barrier along the edge to keep Vyt from escaping, and another by the door to keep the spectators from escaping.
A man in a casual suit paces around the edge of the circle with Omni's gem in one hand and the demon-sword in the other. Vyt recognizes him immediately.
"Surprised? I don't see why you should be. The cosmos are mine to command, after all. Well, they used to be. Some busybodies didn't like what I was doing with my power. They thought they could take all of it away from me, and they nearly did. So I fled, and found a way to get it back. To command the power of time once more."
The Master of the Manor, the older Scarven Dessan, smiled in a way that sent shivers down spines. "All I had to do was start up a little card game and you all brought me the ingredients I needed. My own dear pocketwatch. A gem to hold the power. A magical sword to preform the ritual. And a brilliant young soul to sacrifice." He gestures towards Vyt, still smiling wolfishly.
"But this cannot get too boring. I will not allow for boredom." A harsh light in the corner flickers on, revealing a Rider frozen in time, with a look of fear upon her face. "Defeat me in a card duel and I might let her go. I might even consider letting you go as well. Fail to defeat me and you will be sacrified, and I will re-awaken to my true power!"[/glow]

Vyt fought through his natural fear of closed space; now was not the time for him to be nervous in front of his very last opponent. Shakily but firmly, he stood up in front of a very old version of Scar, yet glanced at the frozen Rider just near the table. The heavy breathing from the catboy either signified his terrifying discovery...
... or the anger accumulating inside of him.
"You sick scoundrel!" Vyt shouted out, obviously mad that someone whom he looked up to was starting to lose control of his own mind. "I will never let you get away with this, and neither do my previous opponents!" He slapped the table in his own fury. "My deck isn't called 'Righteous Fury' for no reason. I knew this was coming, and I've fought my way through innocent lives whose souls you will not be able to steal!"
Quickly, Vyt revealed his Righteous Fury deck from his left hand, and promptly positioned it on its proper place. "Enough talk! I will make you suffer for what you've done to Rider!"
As if in spontaneous reaction, Vyt flicked the coin he used in his fight against Amneiger. "1, I go, 2, you go."
[dice=2]
Seeing that he will have the first turn, Vyt picked up his hand from his deck.
[dice=30] [dice=30] [dice=30]*#9* [dice=30] [dice=30] [dice=30] [dice=30]*#28*
Vyt smirked. His hand was a bit similar to the one he used in the finals, assuring him that he wouldn't get affected by bad luck. "I play Wild Omni as my Active Fighter and attach a Light Energy card to it!"
"I use Tea Party!"
[dice=30] [dice=30]
"I end my turn!"

...I might let her go...even consider letting you go...
Lies, and not particularly hard ones to see through either. There was no reason for this older Dessan to let either of them go, and no reason for him to keep the spectators alive afterward either.
What could they do? Dessan had already shown that he had could still freeze time for others. Anybody who resisted would have time to do only one thing before being caught, and maybe not even that.
Maybe if he tore a strip of cloth from the maids and threw it onto the circle that would break the...no, the barrier would block it. Could they kill the maids? Dessan had lost his pocketwatch; how did he lose it? How would his powers be affected by not having it? Clockwork maids...clocks and watches...had he put his power into them? They'd only seen the maids casting spells so far.
It would be better if there was some way he could communicate with the other spectators without Dessan noticing. Talking was out of the question. Amneiger wrapped his hand around the dazzler in his pocket as he glanced about the room at the other spectators and the position of the maids.
(Come on, people! Who else is here?)

Hunter stood, knowing that no matter the winner, the chaos would begin at the match's end. One of the maids had taken his staff, and his Weewoo, Slothbird, was off somewhere else. He noticed another spectator in the crowd. Wasn't his name Amneiger? He didn't really know him. Amneiger looked like he was about to get something out of his pocket. All Hunter had was his deck, and that couldn't help now.
(Even if there aren't any spectators, what happened to the duel itself? Probably exams.)
(Also, what happened to no Yugioh references? A circle of runes on the ground with an invisible barrier around it? Seal of Orichalcos, anyone? *brick'd*)

(Yeah, probably. ...Rider please post D: And if nobody else says that they're here I'm going to assume that the rest of the crowd is made up of disposable NPCs with the names of the other tourney participants :3 ...Surely Scar the Younger has something to say about all this?)

(Tea Party was played last round, which should've stopped both of us from attacking. Wild Omni can't take damage from Dunburrow Squire's attack.)
"What the heck?!" was Vyt's verbal reaction when Scarven's turn came up. He played a Thief of Time, a card that has never existed in the current list of cards in the Arena. He realized that with his powers, Scarven could've gone through time to get such a card. The catboy became cautious of his own actions, knowing that he might have more of that kind of card in his deck.
"Draw!"
[dice=30]
Upon drawing a card from the deck, Vyt felt his chest getting heavy all of a sudden. It was like he was being sucked into the game itself. His eyes closed for a moment, but quickly struggled to keep themselves opened.
Vyt smiled mildly, despite the pain he suddenly felt on his torso. "I use Sleight of Hand!"
[dice=30] [dice=30]*#3* [dice=30] [dice=30]*#17* [dice=30]
Each draw placed more pressure on Vyt's body. For a while, he thought he could see his cards come to life, but reality check brought him back to the game. "Does this odd drawing around us have to do with this pain I'm having?" Vyt thought.
"I place it back in the order of #3, #17, #14, #1, #22," the catboy announced before placing the cards back into the deck. He was expecting the pain to at least be lightened up, but it remained plaguing him inside.
"I attach... Fire Energy... to Wild Omni... and use Tooth and Nail for 3 Damage..."

"I put Ginz to my Bench..."
As soon as Vyt placed that particular card on the field, he watched as darkness began enveloping around it. Only the dim light began to shimmer from within the card. "Ginz... I really need your power right now amidst this dark room."
"Wild Omni uses Tooth and Nail... For 3 Damage..."
Vyt dropped to one of his knees after issuing that attack. Even breathing was becoming more difficult to achieve.

Vyt drawed #17, and felt a very sharp pain around his back. He let out a wild painful hiss upon seeing his card. "So ironic... This card will surely give me the win... But I'm very hurt..."
"Light Energy to Ginz..."
"... Tooth and Nail for 3 Damage..."
Already down on his knees, Vyt struggled to finish the game quickly. Even he wouldn't want to be in that kind of torture.

You can end this suffering if you trap your soul in this place.
This Amneiger believed; it would only aid Dessan's purpose for Vyt to become too weak to resist. This game had to stop now, before Vyt's strength ran out and Dessan got his hands on the pocketwatch again.
Amneiger stepped closer to one of the spectators and whispered, "Go for the watch. Three...two...one."
Amneiger tensed, then whipped out his dazzler and fired it into the face of the nearest maid. If he was very lucky, the flash would overload whatever visual senses it had. Even if he wasn't, he was hoping that it would be enough of a distraction to let the others stop the ceremony.
((I've never seen Yu-Gi-Oh, but I'm fairly certain that this isn't the way things are done and therefore I'm about to get pwned. ^_^))

[glow=red,2,300]The maid whirred a bit, her mechanical eyes wide open. She recovered quicker than a human, but still not quick enough to prevent said Nameless Spectator from running into an invisible wall in an attempt to grab the watch. the maid then proceeded to try to give Amnei a wedgie.
