I have a question... because I dunno if this works for comic series/special issues. If I got my 'held over' neomail this week (Tuesday)... probably the first of my comics won't appear in this Friday's issue, correct? :/ Well, as it so tends to go in this happy world of one NT editor vs 2,000 entries every week (seriously, that's the data, I've asked her) the usual gap between a heldover and an acception letter is some two, three weeks. But since this is a special issue and you already made clear that it's a series that has to end with the Christmas issue, it's practically certain that it will appear in Friday's issue (because since it got a heldover, it means that Droplet's already seen it, ergo, she knows that the comic has to appear this Friday in order for the series to work out.) Normally it'd be a bit of a stretch, but special issues give some leeway. You should've been here for the Faerie Wars prank x3 People got heldovers and acceptions on the last days before the issue within the difference of an hour. In other words, no worries :] She hasn't sent out the comic acception letters yet, otherwise I woulda gotten one already.

I have a question as well, I'm slowly introducing the chacters in my comics. The last one I used one of Tirilia's and was nice enough to let use my characters names. Sadly it got rejected both weeks I sent them. Right now I have only 2 comics in the times, is making a 2 part hoilday special is to soon?

Katie- I think it may be too late to start working on a two-part comic. Albeit, this was for my three-part, but since Nova got the "too many good entries" for her Christmas entry... As for too early in your NT career, I only have two comics before my Christmas one, so... (I also included a character that I had planned to introduce but didn't have time before Christmas... Whoops.)

(that didn't sound right >_>) thanks

No, its never too late too start. Unless its like the day before the Christmas Issue comes out. XD I think the Xmas issue is two weeks away, so you still have a shot at it. ^_^
And Hunter, I'm male, not female. <_<

I want to make a series and let readers get to know the characters. Thats why in the first two I didn't put names. The third was going to use names but cruel rejection came upon. The holiday I wanted them to shown as a family. But I already sketch the first part and can really show personality :/ .

Dear Abra,
Congratulations! Your entry (Pint-Sized: Holiday Glums Part 1) has been selected to appear in a future issue of the Neopian Times. A shiny trophy has been added to your user lookup. Thank you for contributing to the Neopian Times!
Aww, thank you Droplet! Wow, that was a really fast response. D: Poor girl's gotta be working overtime. *Sends candy canes*

I've got the lineart done for my holiday issue; I hope to finish the comic by the end of today and submit it. I hope it's not too late to be doing that If not, I guess it's no big deal, as it could be used for any regular issue. But it'll be a special comic for me, so I hope it'll go in a special issue like the holiday issue ;D

XD Maybe it's because I forgot to indicate that it was for the Christmas issue. ^^; I can still resubmit, right?

Yays, first part of comic series accepted =3 Eeee, I missed being in the NT scene. *just got motivation to start with another comic* No, its never too late too start. Unless its like the day before the Christmas Issue comes out. XD I think the Xmas issue is two weeks away, so you still have a shot at it. ^_^ And Hunter, I'm male, not female. <_< Well thing is I think it's not good timing for character development. I want to make a series and let readers get to know the characters. Thats why in the first two I didn't put names. The third was going to use names but cruel rejection came upon. The holiday I wanted them to shown as a family. But I already sketch the first part and can really show personality :/ . Well, character development, especially in comics, is a so-so thing. There are always first-time readers in every issue, and not everyone reads it regularly, and most people read comics for random site entertainment when restocking gets tiring, etc etc. Personally, I'm never able to remember what happened in the earlier parts of comic series unless I specifically follow them x'D So the main task in NT comic business is to make sure that each comic is still able to stand alone (more so since 'em rejections tend to pop up at the most inconvenient of times; the comics I have in the NT are nowhere near in the order I drew them). That said, I don't see why you couldn't show them as a family in the Christmas issue, or any other upcoming issue for that matter. You can always finish the comics and send them in, and if they don't get in, recycle the idea and use it in a regular upcoming comic? Unless you, of course, don't want to go through all the trouble of redrawing n such. There's no law saying that you gotta have a Big Established Ongoing Comic Series TM in order to submit for special issues, after all x3 People tend to look at the comic at hand only, not the whole preceding series and its longevity. Look, with people having the opposite genders on their profiles (or, like in your case, none at all) it's hard to keep track of the genders of every single NTWFer. Maybe it's because I've been on this forum for a while, but I can keep track of everyone's genders. XD Likewise xD Although it most likely has to do with getting to know the people behind colorful names and avatars. Once a person is a person for you, not just a set of a name/avatar/siggy (which is why newbies who change their avatars always confuse me xD) their gender becomes part of how you see them. Probably something to do with internet sociology *cheery shrug* As for the rejected entry, I'd have thought that the title was good enough an indication that it was for the Christmas issue >> But you got nothing to lose with resubmitting, methinks.
