I'm looking forward to this issue. =) Christmas is my favorite issue. <3
And this weekend seemed slow. <<;; It kinda sucked how TNT had holidays, I want a response on my story! XD Oh well, patience is a virtue. x3

Well, TNT does deserve a holiday, don't you think? I sort of feel sorry for Droplet though; when she comes back, she'll have loads of submissions to sift through. Including mine. ^^; I really love that holiday story I worked on, so I'm terribly impatient. Even more so than usual. XDDDDD

Your comic, "No Sugar - A Holiday Special", has been submitted successfully.
And there it goes! Phew, I'm glad I got it finished one day before December. n_n;

Is anyone else working on an after-christmas/winter entry? Or is this a bad idea? I was planning on submitting a winterish story after Christmas, but I don't know how Droplet(or the other staff) feels about this. Does winter end with Christmas?

No, if that was the case, then we wouldn't be able to write Terror Mountain stories. XD
You can write a winter-ish entry, but just make sure it isn't tied so closely with the holidays, because then your entry will be rejected. As much as possible, holiday-themed entries should only be submitted during the special issue unless somehow your story doesn't require it, like what I did years ago by writing about my pets creating a Christmas in July. XDDDDDD

Hm, for those of you who just received the held-over letter, when did you submit your entry?

*goes to check* I submitted my article on... November 24. Got the held-over letter today.
I have no idea what kind of order Droplet works in, though (first comics, then articles, then short stories? Short things before long things? Everything in the order it came in?).

Hm, for those of you who just received the held-over letter, when did you submit your entry? Some time last week? :/ I don't remember, I'm sorry.

Short things before long things? Everything in the order it came in?). If memory serves, articles come first and comics after that. But don't take that to the bank, I don't always remember things with 100% accuracy >>; In any case, she seems to work in batches. One section is always filled first. But for those of you who just submitted and only have one entry for the Christmas issue - as in, not a series of some kind - then it should work out pretty well. Two weeks is average heldover time these days, and once it's heldover, Droplet doesn't miss the right issue for it. (Unless it, of course, gets rejected after that, but those are pretty rare cases x'D) So no stress.

Eh heh heh... Still haven't come up for an idea for this one. Of course, this usually happens for the Christmas issue with me. I usually wind up with something short and not really so funny. XDD So, we'll see if I can come up with an idea and get it finished. XDD

Woo hoo!
Dear Bianca,
Thank you for submitting to the Neopian Times. Currently your submission (The Author's Gift) is being held over and may be considered for future publication in the Neopian Times. There is no need to submit your submission again, as it is saved by the editor.
Yours Sincerely, The Neopets Team
I think if this gets in, it'll be my first Christmas issue. ^_^

I have a question... because I dunno if this works for comic series/special issues. If I got my 'held over' neomail this week (Tuesday)... probably the first of my comics won't appear in this Friday's issue, correct? :/
