Gotta start brainstorming this one, I suppose. ;D Haven't had much of a chance to ponder the Christmas holiday yet, I'm still looking towards Thanksgiving.

JDB - You can be different and submit a not-so-merry story.  Gav and I once did a short story collab for Christmas that ended on a very sad note, and it got into a holiday issue. Though I'll see if I have time to look it over in a more in-depth way. Hmmmm...my series will also run through the holiday issue, but I have this short story I really, really want to submit because I finished it quite a long time ago, when I didn't think a part of my series would fall into this issue. But I'll still try; it's a flashback that I had fun doing that is rather related to AnHJ.  EDIT: Submitted. But I forgot to put a comment. ^^; Droplet will know instantly that it's for the Christmas issue anyway, right? (If you're reading this, Droplet, hi. XD) |

JDB, in your 11th paragraph, the 3rd sentence, it says the house was "pained white". Is it supposed to be pained or painted? Other than that, I thought the story was great, and you should definitely submit it.

My short story is held over for xmas here is a choice excerpt: Stumpy slipped behind the counter and said: “that’ll be one hundred dubloons. But I’ll give ye a discount. Ninety nine dubloons.”
“How generous of you,” said Stella, and she muttered between her teeth about money-grubbing pirate so-and-sos and how she would like to give them all wedgies.
However, when Stella put a purse full of dubloons on the counter, Stumpy did not take it. Stella looked at Stumpy and watched his facial expressions reflect some strange internal struggle.
“Indigestion?” Stella inquired kindly.
“No,” said Stumpy at length. “Christmas spirit.” |

I've got an idea that I've started. It's rather...unorthodox for a Christmas issue. XD; I just need to find the time to finish it.

I plan on writing a Christmas-related short story for the issue, but I have no ideas yet. xD Maybe I'll think of something after finals during Thanksgiving break.  |

Wow.
The Christmas Issue is like a slap in the face to me. Showing how lazy I am when it comes to writing...
Will probably attempt to write something up - if I can get an idea and finish on time, that is. x3

Finally got off my butt (...okay, got on my butt, in my chair, typing) and finished my Christmas article. It's called Christmas in the Stars: Holiday Customs from Kreludor. Fingers crossed...
