(Notes: The following is my NTWF version of HEROES. Rules: basic rp rules. Please just human characters, vampires and werewolves, and other such creatures wouldn't quite fit into a HEROES inspired rp would they? (rhetorical) EDIT: It seems the rules weren't specific enough, I don't want any god mods, inappropriate materials, and no deus ex machinas!) All around the world males and females alike are beginning to tap into their full potential, and do things others only dream of. They have gained these abilities in numerous ways, mainly through genetics. Abilities that can injure, even kill. Abilities that can destroy the world. This is their story.
(Toronto Canada) Trist Hawke ran down the busy street looking around him frantically, getting strange looks from pedestrians. He didn't look that much different, Torontonians are strange looking people too, with his nice red jacket, his fedora, and black and red clothing, he looked slightly normal among the motley crew of the citizens of Toronto. But then again, who wouldn't stare at a sixteen year old boy running down a street with stolen food. It wasn't as if he didn't need the food, he hadn't eaten in days, he hadn't had a real home in almost two years.
He looked back to why this was happening.
"Dad, there's nothing wrong with me!" Trist yelled desperately. "I'm still human!"
"I won't have your powers burn down my house!" his father roared. "I already lost Andria. You're not going to kill me too! Leave, now."
"It wasn't my fault I couldn't control it, and you didn't even try to help!" Trist yelled back. He still remembered the horror of that day when he'd first discovered his pyrokinesis and had lost control. He always felt it was his fault at heart.
That's when Stan absolutely lost it. "Get out of my house now, or I'll get rid of you myself," he yelled, backhanding Trist across the face.
"Leave!" Stan roar furiously. As soon as Trist gathered his senses, and his stuff, he did just that, dashing out of the room with tears running down his face.
Trist had been living on the streets for almost two years of his life (which is dangerous for a seventeen year old), and he hadn't seen his father since he left home. Ever since his mother died Trist had fallen into a state of great depression. Of course though, the biggest reason his father hated him, was Trist was very open about being gay. Trist had no problem with it and he dealt with the constant bullying, occasionally getting into a fight, but his father couldn't handle the fact his only son was gay. He had no friends, but occasionally someone would take pity on him and give him food or shelter for a day or two, but mostly the alleys were his home. He easily survived the colder weather, using his pyrokinesis to keep him warm.

Anna Lane was a tall young woman of nineteen years of age. Dark black curls hung around a heart-shaped face and offset two green eyes that had once been brilliant but were now, more often than not, shrouded in suspicion. Her figure was slender and almost willow-like, and it was currently leaning idly against the window frame of the one story home she occupied alone. Her lips were puckered into a look of concentration as she studied the view from her window.
Her home was a mildly secluded, unimpressive one bedroom, one bathroom arrangment in Canada.
Canada. Anna smirked. Canada where she’d fled in an attempt to hide from herself. She hadn’t escaped herself, but she had escaped her family, her friends, and all the other people she’d had trouble facing when she’d learned that she was…different. For all they knew, she could have been in Japan now. She hadn’t contacted them since she’d packed up her things and disappeared in the middle of the day last year.
Now she managed on her own. She’d tied down a pathetic excuse for a job that was just good enough to get by with the rent on this place, and she kept her head down and her opinions to herself, ascertaining that everyone she came across knew as little about her as was absolutely possible. For now, all she wanted to do was blend.
And then what? What happened when she was tired of melting into the scenery? What happened when she finally made up her mind? Made up her mind to choose sides. Which side? She didn’t know yet. Good or evil. Dark or light. What was the point of having powers, after all, if she wasn’t on a side? At first she’d been afraid of them, but now she had to wonder why she should let them go to waste.
Anna was very aware of the feel of the tiny rectangle of paper pinched between her fingers. She lifted it for the millionth time and studied the print of the business card. The previous week, she’d had visitors. Visitors that said little about themselves and a lot about the company they worked for. A company of super heroes. At least, that was what Anna had deducted, and they wanted her to join them. To fight evil, they’d said.
But how did she know she wanted to be good? How did she know she wouldn’t rather be evil than fight it? All of her life she’d been told what to do, and, just recently, she’d began to realize how liberating her newfound power could be. With it, she didn’t have to listen to anyone. She could make them listen to her. She could have whatever she wanted, be whoever she wanted. She could live in any house that she wanted to. Not just this crummy last resort one she currently had to be holed away into.
Deliberately, Anna slid the card into her palm and crumpled it into a ball.
No one was going to influence her decision. It was hers alone to make.
Decided, she uncurled her fingers, but, instead of dropping to the floor, the crumpled card floated in the air before her. She glanced toward the wastebasket across the room and gestured with one commanding finger, and the card obediently skittered through the air and dropped itself into the wastebasket.
Child’s play. Moving paper. She could move anything or anyone she wanted. Just by a single well-directed thought. Anna was beginning to wonder the extent of this power and just what exactly she could do with it if she put her mind to it.
She would found out, but first… First she had to make the monumental decision:
Hero or Villain?

(Streets of Toronto) Trist ran into a dark alley, it was starting to get dark, and he was starting to get cold and tired. He checked to make sure no one was around, and gathered some nearby scrap wood and paper carelessly tossed on the ground. He set it in a pile in a corner, and pointed his finger at it and a small flame shot out of his finger tip, and the pile instantly errupted with fire. He kept his hands over his chest and began to slowly warm himself up as he drifted off to sleep.
(Evotech Building, Toronto)
" Where is the telekinetic girl? She should have been here by now." Stryker asked as he paced back and forth in his office.
" We'll go find her, there also seems to be a new one too, a pyro, name is Trist Hawke, right now he's on the streets, here in Toronto. That's what Destiny said, she found him this morning." Angel stated," I'm going to go find the girl, Alex, you go talk to the boy."
" Got it. I'll be back, hopefully with the pyro, in a few." Alex said before dashing off as Angel teleported away.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ( Toronto streets)
In a matter of minutes Alex was at the supposed location of the pyro. He walked down the alley, and easily found the boy passed out in the corner. He grabbed the kid and rushed back to Evotech, and into Stryker's office where he gently set Trist on the ground.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Anna's location) Angel reappeared right behind Anna. "Sorry kid, but you're coming with me." she whispered as she grabbed Anna and started to concentrate on returning to Evotech.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trist woke up minutes later on the cushy floor of an office. He stood up where he saw a tall man with short hair, and a tall brunnette boy, leaning over him.
" The pyro's awake boss." Alex declared.
" Well Tristan, welcome to Evotech. Here we are all specal like you, of course we have different abilities, but we wish to help you control your power. But we want you to help us in return, we need more recruits, we need you to help us convince others like us to join our crusade against the normal human race. They are not like us and don't dserve to share our planet as equals." Stryker stated in a warm, friendly voice.
Alex helped Trist up. " That's not right though, they are like us, why not stay hidden and help them?" Trist asked.
Stryker looked at him confused," because we are their superiors."
( Stryker, Angel, and Destiny are characters tht me and ayame control, if she wants, but Alex is mine. Stryker: controls electricity Angel: teleportation Destiny: can track other powered humans with her mind Alex: enhanced strength and speed
Ayame if you want a character profile on each, then tell me and I'll write them up and send them to you.)

Schyuler Heartman sat idly, staring out the window of her bedroom. Her house was one of the oldest in the neighborhood, but the only thing she liked about it was the gargoyles on the roof. They were one of the rare things that made her smile. All the people that saw her house thought it was interesting though, the way the ivy climbed up the walls, and the statues in the garden gave it an eerie feeling when they walked by. But for Schuyler, the house itself wasn't interesting, the way she came to own it was interesting, and almost sad too. She thought back to that time, when things weren't as easy for her as they were now.
Screams and shouts filled the field, as Schuyler fought for control over her power. The last time she lost control of her powers, she had caused her families death. Her mother, father, Grandparents, any thing that was dear to her was now gone, and it was all her fault. But there was no time for her to dwell on a past that can never be changed, she had to get her aerokinesis under control before her past happened again. Her long black hair whipped around her as the tornado she had accidentally conjured up grew bigger. Sweat trickled down her face as she concentrated. Trees uprooted and crashed into the castle that was her home. After a long while the air she had accidental manipulated began to slow down until the spinning ceased. She then released her power and her weak legs trembled underneath her until she collapsed, gasping. As she began to breath normal, and the pounding in her head turned into a mild throbbing, she looked up at the damage she caused. There was dozens of people lying on the grassy field, some only injured but most dead. The east wing of the once beautiful orphanage was now a pile of rubble, and the rest was barely standing. She slowly stood up and brushed leaves and dirt off her plaid skirt, and out of her hair. She said a silent prayer goodbye as she turned to leave. No one could know of what she did, she had to escape, move to a new country if she had to.
And this is where she ended up, in a mansion in Toronto. She had collected her savings from the many years and flew from England to Toronto at the age of 15. She was now 18 and totally alone. She didn't want to start to care for someone and then lose control of the powers, she couldn't handle her past happening again.
The phone on her desk began to ring and she was pulled out of her flashback, turning reluctantly to answer the phone.

Mix Carline fifthteen year old girl found herself once again on the streets in Toronto; she'd usually perform a trick or something for money. While the crowed people would watch in astonishment, she was proud of her talent but when people got too suspicious she would have to leave that area before there were any questions asked or worse! Of course it didn't help when she had the most unusual eyes which were practically white. It was very cold in Toronto, and her green jacket, black shirt and baggy brown pants didn't help her. The only thing that kept her ears warm was her big ear phones and her chin length reddish brownish hair. Of course she could've conjured up an image of a fire but it would bring her no warmth. She quickly turned a corner and tripped over a stone, she was so use to illusions she wasn't much aware of the reality that surrounded her. She fell with a thud and her big head phones went flying. She quickly picked them up and turned into a nearby alley way where her Orphanage was located she still felt the anger of when her parents abandoned her as she stared at the building in the empty alley way.

(Evotech, Toronto)
The girl pcked up, finally. " Hello Schuyler, my name is Destiny. I would like it if you could come to the Evotech office building tonight , we wish to talk about your power." Destiny stated in a warm, friendly voice before hanging up.
--------------------------------------------
( Alleyway, Toronto)
Daniel revealed himself as his target walked by. " Mix Carline? I am here to talk to you. We at Evotech are interested in your power, so if you could come with me to talk to our boss, he would like to offer you a job." he stated to the girl. ---------------------------------------------
" So Tristan, would you like to join me, and help purify this world?" Stryker asked the boy stepping forward to shake Trist's hand.
" It's not purification, and thanks for the offer, but I will have to refuse." Trist replied as he started to leave, but Alex ran over to block him.
" Please Trist. Come on join us, trust me it will be great!" Alex said with a pleading tone. " I'll think about it, but that's all I can say for sure." Trist declared with a sigh.
" Why don't you stay here for the night? You can stay in one of the spare rooms. We find it less dangerous for ur workers, than staying in their past arrangements." Stryker offered.
" Okay, whatever." Trist stated.
" Good, Alex go take him to room 20," Stryker said, " Good night."
Alex took Trist to room twenty, before leaving to his own room, which ironically was across the hall. Trist quickly drifted off to sleep on the extremely comfortable matress.
( Daniel is another Ayame and me character if she wishes. His power is invisibility.)

Schuyler listened to the beeping of the phone, astonished. Who was this woman? And what did she know of her power. Anybody who knew of her power could pose as a serious threat. They could exploit her or a number of worse things that were to hard for her to think. She didn't know what to do, if she went to there she could be in trouble, but if she didn't go it could be worse. They obviously had someone there that could track her down. She looked down at the phone in her hands, wishing now more than ever that she had caller id. She drummed her fingers on her desk as she made her final decision. She would go, its not like she couldn't defend herself if things got out of hand. But she hoped it wouldn't have to come to that.

Mix turned around when she heard someone behind her. "Excuse me but do I know you?" she asked confused because she was sure she was alone. She didn't usually see many people near the Orphanage. "Also shouldn't you be the first to introduce yourself! It’s common courteously you know!" Mix study the guy carefully she wasn't ready to get friendly with a guy who gave off such a weird aura to her. "Also", she started, “I have no idea what you are talking about!" She started her way slowly back into busy Toronto traffic just in case the guy tried anything funny she should at least have a few witness around, but unfortunately had to walk right past the guy to reach the street. She was about ten steps away from him still keeping the same pace then once again she tripped over a crack in the ground and fell to the ground. She quickly got up dusted herself and was now no more than two big steps away from him. Embarrassed she turns, locks eyes and says, " That would've been the perfect exit you know, if I hadn't fell!"

" You're pretty funny." Daniel said with a chuckle. " The name's Daniel, I work for Evotech. No idea huh? Okay, I guess I have a different illusionist with the name Mix Carline right?" he asked sarcastically. He offered his hand out to the girl. " Look all I ask is that you go to the building and hear us out."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trist woke up looked around the strange room and remembered what had happened. But should he accept the offer? He was against enslaving normal humans, but he felt safe when he was with that Alex person, maybe it was a good idea. The only thing he knew for sure was he needed to make a decision and quick. Maybe he could decline, and get Alex out of the company. It seemed like a despicable place and plot. He had decided, the next day he would decline the offer.

"Well maybe you do, because I clearly never remember giving my name out to a Daniel or to any one of Evotech," Mix replied to Daniel and declining his hand. " How come you know about me so much? And besides why must I be taken to a building of a company I have never heard of Daniel! You'll have to do way better to convince me to come with you!" Mix had an eerie feeling about Daniel he seemed fine but theres not alot of people she could trust these days.

How come you know about me so much? And besides why must I be taken to a building of a company I have never heard of Daniel
" We know about you and your powers because of one of my associates named Destiny. You should go just to hear us out, we can help you and you can help us. I won't be able to explain this as well as my boss will. Come on, it's just down the street." Daniel offered.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Destiny walked into Stryker's office. " Okay, so Angel has found the telekinetic girl. She hasn't returned yet. And Daniel is with the illusionist. He hasn't returned either. Would you like me to talk to Alex, and get him to persuade the pyro to join us tomorrow?" she asked.
Stryker looked up. " Yes that would be helpful, Trist seems to have taken a liking to Alex, we can use this to our advantage."
" Okay sir." Dstiny said as she exited the room. She hurried as best as she could to Alex's room. She knocked before entering. " Alex, Stryker wants you to convince the pyro to join, do whatever is necissary, flirt, threaten, lie! Got it?"
" Sure." Alex responded tiredly.
" Okay, good luck." Destiny stated leaving the room.
Trist looked at the ceiling. He couldn't do this, he couldn't hurt the poor kid. He was starting to like Trist. Alex was starting to realise how bad Evotech really was. But it was his only home.

Mix was very puzzled about how they could help her but was more puzzled by how she could help them. "It still sounds a little weird to me, but I've got nothing better to do so what the heck," she said. "Fine I'll go talk to your boss but I'm making no promises on taking any job that I'll dislike !" This was turning out to be a very odd day, then something crossed her mind that didn't at first. How did Daniel know were she was, she knew she had be on her guard because she had no idea what or who she was dealing with.

After pondering over her mysterious phone call, Schuyler began to wander around her massive house, cleaning anything and everything in her path. This was a nervous habit, and she was defiantly nervous. She noticed her hands shaking as she dusted on top of the fireplace. She wasn't only nervous, she was terrified. She had no idea of what to expect at this Evotech, this could all be a hoax, she new eventually her past would catch up with her. But how could these people know of what she had done? She had never even so much as heard of Evotech. But then again, what if these people could help her. Teach her to gain control of her frustrating power. Then she wouldn't have to watch her temper so closely. She glanced at the clock on the wall for the tenth time since the call. 6 o'clock. She should probably be on her way. Slipping on her coat she started out the front door. She fiddled with her necklace as she began in what felt like the directing of the Evotech building. She wrapped the fine gold chain around her fingers, it was the last thing she had of her family. Inside the heart shaped locket on the chain was a picture of her Mother and Father.
After about a fifteen minuit walk she arrived at what she thought was the right building. She knocked on the door, two small taps, and stepped back, waiting for someone to answer. She gulped as the doorknob began to turn, her grip on her locket tightening.

( Toronto Streets)
" That's okay, all we want is for you to hear us out." Daniel said as he led the way to Evotech. When he got there, he led Mix into a side entrance of the building and up to Stryker's office.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Destiny opened the door, the frosty air sneaking into the building slightly. " Hello, Schuyler I presume, I'm Destiny. If you'd kindly follow me, you can come talk to my boss, Stryker." she said as she excitedly dragged Schuyler to Stryker's office.
" Oh good, two have shown up, now we just need Angel to return. I will begin to fill you two in anyways, but Destiny can you go wake Alex and get him to bring Tristan as well please?" Stryker asked politely.
" Absolutely." Destin responded chipperly as she left the room. She walked down the hall and walked right into Alex's room," Alex you gotta wake up, Stryker wshes ou to join the rest of us, and oh bring the pyro as well." she stated leaving the room. She returned to the office, " Okay he is going to."
Alex sighed as he got up, twice woken in one night, god this was annoying, and now he had to go wake up Trist too. He walked across the hall into Trist's room and whispered " Hey Trist you gotta wake up, we have to go talk in Stryker's office."
Trist woke up and saw Alex in his room," Fine I'm comin, I'm comin." he declared tiredly as he got up and walked with Alex into Stryker's office. When he got there he saw a group of strangers in there as well. Daniel, Destiny, and Alex walked over to stand next to Stryker.
" Okay, to get introduction's over quickly, I am Stryker, I run Evotech, and I have the ability to control electricity. These are Daniel, who has the power of invisibility, Destiny, who can find out a super human's coordinates, and powers with her mind, and Alex, he has enhanced speed and strength. They all work for me, and we would like you three to aswell." Stryker explained as he paced around the room. " Now this is Trist, he controls heat and fire. This is Schuyler, she can fly and control the air. Finally this is Mix, she is an illusionist." he added. " Now, what we are offerng for you three, and many others is a job, not only to help us recruit other super humans, but to help us takeover this planet, and enslave the normal human population. We would like you to decide tonight if you shall join or not."

“These are Daniel, who has the power of invisibility, Destiny, who can find out a super human's coordinates, and powers with her mind, and Alex, he has enhanced speed and strength.”
"Aha that’s how you sneaked up on me," Mix proclaimed
" Now, what we are offering for you three, and many others is a job, not only to help us recruit other super humans, but to help us takeover this planet, and enslave the normal human population. We would like you to decide tonight if you shall join or not."
"What the.... Are you insane?!" Mix turned and glared at Daniel. "This is what you wanted me to hear. Are you insane too? I don't know about you two," Mix said to Trist and Schuyler. “I have to say it is more comforting to know there’s more people out there like me but I do not want any part in this insane plan!" Outraged Mix started for the door, she couldn't believe these people were they complete idiots enslave the human race?
