With Overlord looking after Kitty, Ginz decided it was indeed safe to go upstairs. Celes smile had been comforting to her.
A group of NTWFers was surrounding the chimney, and Ginz got closer to listen what they were saying. She thought they might be discussing the mystery still, but the first thing she heard was the voice of Rider saying "Thank you, Kat, which grings me to the question, why is Ginz dressed as you?"
Ginz couldn't help but giggle quietly.
"Don't you think it's the perfect Halloween costume, Rider? Kat can be scary if she puts her mind to it!" she joked. She knew it wasn't the time for jokes, but she hated to be gloomy.
Ginz watched Craig walking away and decided to follow him. She didn't think it was a good idea for anyone to separate from the group.
"Craig..." she called, hoping not to startle him.

Craig was startled.
With the voices of the guests-turned-detectives fading behind him as he walked further away in search of the kitchen, Ginz's voice made him jump.
He turned around. "Oh, it's you." He smiled, holding up the empty punch bowl. "I was just looking for the kitchen, to refill this. But this manor is enormous. I wish Goosh would have just stayed here in the ballroom; he's the only one who knows his way around this place."

Back in the room, Lulu was pleased to see more punch would be arriving shortly. Perhaps it wasn't the best time to be thinking about her stomach, but she continued snacking on the peanuts anyway.
"You're both right, but it could be anything. I mean, how do we know there's not some kind of trapdoor in here? I truly doubt it...but it just seems odd that she went without a trace."
She paused for a moment, taking time to chew an extra salty peanut.
"...well, almost without a trace. What about whoever knocked over Craig? Where were they heading in such a hurry?"
So much speculation to be done - as much as she loved a good conspiracy theory, not when it involved a fellow NTWFer.

((...I'ma ask this as much in advance as possible: anyone who has a problem with getting drawn in this comic, or getting words put in their mouth in this comic, do let me know x'3 I tend to need a big ol' pool of characters for the sake of flexibility, so it's easier for me to ask who doesn't want to get an appearance rather than who does.))

...well, almost without a trace. What about whoever knocked over Craig? Where were they heading in such a hurry?
Lupehunter began pondering about that.
"Lulu, I think you may be on to something. I witnessed the accident, but now that I think about it, the person who bumped into Craig was heading towards the left of the room. Of course, I couldn't tell who that person was that bumped into Craig. However, the only thing that happens to be there is the door and...the grandfather clock." He brought out his notebook and began writing something down.

((It's a roleplay in a Manor near the outskirts of Tabloid Town, and its a Halloween Party. Ikkin went missing when the lights went off and now Goosh is missing too and riht now we're trying to find them. I really suggest reading through the thread now while its at five pages... I wouldn't be surprised if it gets to 15 or even 25. XD))
"Oy, Nova, I can't believe you're accusing me of doing illegal activity. For your information, I wasn't here two years ago when Goosh was arrested and found not guilty for that. And I transform into a grey wolf, not a Lupe."
"Sorry Lupehunter, but you havce to admit that your name does strike a resemblence when a Lupe could be involved in this, and I didn't know know you did not change into a Lupe, it's pretty hard to know everyones powers."
Nova then watched as Ginz startled Craig who nearly dropped his bowl on his way to the kitchen. He wanted to be with Ginz as she made him feel safe, but decided that they might want to talk alone. He decided his powers might be useful here with the group.
Nova then heard that Crystal was missing as well. ((Isn't it a bit odd how all the people who go missing hasn't even posted on this thread yet, besides Goosh? xDD)) He started feeling nervous in his gut. Ikkin..then Goosh, now Crystal. Who knows who will disappear next.
"Okay guys, we need a plan. We need to find out whats causing the disappearences and put an end to it." Nova pushed away the nervous feeling and replaced it with a firm belief that they will find out what's going on, before it gets worse...
((Oh Hunty, you can put me in the comic whenever. =3 I don't mind in the slightest. ^^))

"Um...wasn't Crystal there a minute ago?" Lulu asked, looking the general direction of where the girl had been standing last time she looked. She hadn't heard her leave the room, and she had a good enough view from where she stood to see the basement entrance to know Crystal hadn't gone down there.
"Okay guys, we need a plan. We need to find out whats causing the disappearences and put an end to it."
Lulu nodded, adjusting her collar nervously. She was started to feel really unsafe.
"This is getting to weird. I mean, Ikkin went missing in darkness, but Crystal - she was just over there, where we could see her if we had just turned around," she said, biting her lip, "I think we'd be better sticking together from now on. We should all stay in sight of one another."
She was shaking somewhat, but started to pace up and down to try and hide the nerves. She drank the last few sips of her pu --
The punch.
"Guys, what about Craig and Ginz? They're out there, in the kitchen - wherever that is."
((Hope you don't mind me using the line from the comic, Hunty.))

Ginz smiled apologetically at Craig, and then nodded at what he said.
"Yes, I wonder where Goosh went. He could not only be anywhere in the manor, but he could have gone outside.
"That's why I followed you," she admitted. "Better not to walk alone along these corridors. We don't need any more people disappearing. I'd be worried if you did.
"This whole thing is co confusing." At this point, she lowered her voice until it was only a whisper. "I'm scared."

There were a few portraits lining the walls of the ballroom. One was an oil painting of Goosh, the Yurble seated in a large armchair by a crackling fire. He had a slight smile in the picture, but the eyes seemed strangely distant and detached, as if they had been altered in some way.
The advantage being that everyone expected to see the eye moving, and that no one saw the eye holes in the bottom corner of the canvas...

Crystal was done. This was getting very scary. Ikkin might have disappeared when the lights were off making it anybody's guess where she went but Crystal had disappeared spontaneously. There was no flicker of the lights and nothing abnormal occured.
"Okay guys, we need a plan. We need to find out whats causing the disappearences and put an end to it." Nova said, a hint of nervousness in his voice. Celestial agreed. This time it was serious. Crystal had disappeared without a trace or a footprint. The whole thing made the Dragon Mage's wings tense up into an aggressive stance. A strange feeling crept up her spine as if she was being watched. Turning to a portrait of the Yurble, Celestial looked it right in the eye but they weren't moving at all. You are just scared, it is nothing she thought and yet the feeling wouldn't pass.
Suddenly a thought occured to Celestial as she recalled a book she once read where somebody disappeared without a trace but the explanation was simple enough. However it did involve quite a bit of magic.
"Crystal disappeared from right under our very noses...I know this might sound very absurb but what if she instead of being teleported, was kidnapped when somebody froze time. We couldn't have noticed it at all" she said with a tense note in her voice. What she was proposing was silly but it was better to investigate all avenues than none at all.
She let them think about it and followed Ginz and Craig at a safe distance, to make sure nothing happened to them. They could not be too careful now that Crystal had disappeared too.
The basement was very deep, full of crates of things Overlord did not want to know about. If Goosh really traded arms then he didn't want to encounter any surplus; Weewoos were not good at surviving explosions.
"Kitty?" he chirruped into the darkness of the basement. Where was the girl?
((Hunty, you can abuse me as you wish in the comic. ^^))

After writing down a lengthy note in his notepad, about the case so far and with the latest details, Lupehunter decided to check out the grandfather clock. He had suspected that their was a secret passage behind it. There was nothing , no matter how hard he looked.
"Strange, I would have thought that there would be one, considering that this mansion is huge," he muttered to himself before heading back to the group.

"I'm scared."
Craig put on a half-smile to reassure Ginz. He was more than a little worried himself, but he decided it would be better not to say it aloud. "We should be safe as long as we stick together," he said. "Besides, I've got a heavy punch bowl and a ladle in case anyone tries to jump us."
He stepped out of the ballroom and into one of the dim hallways of the manor. Ginz followed, and they both glanced behind them at the rest of the party guests. Everyone was staring nervously at one of the snack tables, and people were saying things that he couldn't quite hear.
"Let's hurry and find the kitchen. It can't be too far; Goosh wouldn't have wanted to walk a long way to carry the food out to the tables."
Speaking of the Yurble, Craig noticed that the high-ceilinged, candlelit corridor was lined with several portraits, many of which looked like they might be of Goosh or his family. Eerie eyes stared down at the long carpet, which muffled the steps of the boy in the tuxedo and the girl in the robes as they walked.
Craig poked his head into the adjoining rooms as they passed. "Sitting room," he said, his voice small in the large hallway. "Music room. Bathroom. Kitchen!"
He motioned quickly to Ginz, and they stepped into the tiled room, unaware that somone had just opened the door from the ballroom and stepped into the corridor behind them.

Kitty, after what seemed like a lifetime of wandering in the basement, was suddenly attacked by a ghost! As it landed on her shoulder she tried to turn around to see it but it moved with her. When she stopped turning and screaming, she could see it was just a white weewoo. It then left her shoulder and fluttered away, and Kitty ran after it. The weewoo somehow found the most direct route to the stairs and Kitty scrambled up them, extremely glad to be out of the basement. She wasn't going to tell anyone though. Nor would she tell them she thought the weewoo had been a ghost and that she had screamed. If they heard her they would ask.
"Good news guys," Kitty said at arriving at the group of people. "If Ikkin is downstairs, she is not making any loud noises." Kitty hoped this statement wouldn't be too obvious as a complete failure to find anything at all while in the basement terrified out of her wits. "What's going on up here?"

Fj0rd had followed the others up the stairs earlier, when Overlord took over the search for Kitty.
"Crystal disappeared from right under our very noses...I know this might sound very absurb but what if she instead of being teleported, was kidnapped when somebody froze time. We couldn't have noticed it at all."
Fj0rd shrugged. "If they could stop time, why would they turn the lights off?"
((Sure, Hunty, go ahead!))

Lulu nodded along with what Celestial was saying, but she was frowning all the same. She had very limited knowledge of magic, and was wondering how much power it would take to freeze the whole mansion - those who stood in the ballroom, Craig and Ginz in the hallway, and Kitty, wherever she was.
"Maybe," she said, "but I kind of agree with Fj0rd. Why go to all that bother, and alert us so obviously to Ikkin's disappearance?"
"Strange, I would have thought that there would be one, considering that this mansion is huge," Lupehunter had said, pulling the grandfather clock aside.
"I'm not surprised," she said, matter-of-factly, "this place is full of surprises - what makes you think it's going to start being predictable now? For all we know, the culprit has this place rigged up, and it watching us now."
She hadn't given much thought to these words, but the hairs stood up on the back of her neck as she did, think about the awful possibilities. She shook the feeling of being watched off quickly, putting it down to her paranoia getting to her. It was at this moment a white weewoo flapped into the room, followed by a certain girl.
"Kitty! Thank goodness - we thought you might have vanished too!"
