I'd just like to lend my tips on getting maximum feedback from your readers, especially for writing articles. - This one pretty obvious - add a hyperlink like this: www.neopets.com/neomessages.phtml?type=send&recipient=epk Except the epk is not epk, but your username. Shidi does this at the end of all her articles for example.
- Have a poll! For example, when I had the poll: Do I need Psychological Help (although irrelavant to my article.) I got plenty of responses.
- Reply to your readers! Although I'm a horrible replier, they are more likely to give more feedback if they are replied to, and you will be more likely to think about what they said.
- Get something in there for them to talk about - relevant to the article. (Lupes, I've discovered, are never releavant.) Something your purpose that they dislike, such as my article: Blocking Faeries and Codestones - Good Idea? are bound to get them talking.
- Is it just me, or should there be a hyperlink to the profile at the top of the page where you have Title, break, then by username?

Hyperlink to a profile would be spiffy, yeah. Of course, then our poor Editor would have even more work to do every week, crankin' out those links. I think most people can manage to, y'know, copy paste your name into the sidebar. I hope. Okay, maybe not most. But anyone you'd actually want to talk to anyhow.

Great. Either respond to Al or be the next hunted creature in the Al the Chia series. Well, it started off when...well, I think it started off with a guild...but, eh, I don't talk about it anymore for obvious reasons.

No offense epk, but you don't talk about your reasons for disliking lupes any more and yet you still talk about disliking them? Seems a bit backward...
Maybe we ought to just keep the anti-any-species comments off these boards for the sake of peace, eh?

No offense taken. I was only trying to supply advice in how don't get personal if it is irrelevant to the topic. Al just asked a question, and eh, I choose not to respond.

Remember the rules of -these- boards include 'Be kind to each other'. This may be different than other places. But being kind to one another means not belittling others, or condemning a certain kind of pet (we all have our favorite Neopets, after all). Please remember this in the future, or the posts containing the offensive matterials will be removed.

Is there any way to get minimal feedback? I mean, I like feedback, but 50+ messages a day is a bit excessive. *explodes*

Feedback? I never get feedback. Well, the first two articles I wrote I had about 100+ messages (but only because they were published while I was away at music camp for four weeks and I came back and...yeah). One of my articles got no feedback, and the rest got anywhere from six to fifteen neomails. My serieses got about three neomails each. I don't really get lots of feedback, so I see no need for minimal feedback. Probably the rest of you get a lot, though, so maybe I'm wrong.

I get plenty of neomail, and I've discovered whether or not I include a hyperlink at the very end of my story does help with that. After I wrote 'Don't Cry, Duchess' in week 66, I got about 200 neomails altogether. Maybe the link at the end helped.

I think if you want minimal feedback, post on these boards an click "Check this if you wish to be notified of replies to this topic." Worked for me.

The first time I had a neomail link at the end was this week, and I got about ten times more feedback than normal, which was good...actually, it was all positive except for this jerk who sent me ten neomails saying, "your article sucks! Who cares!?!" to which I replied quickly with a little poisonous sting. I don't mind negative feedback, but when people are rude like that...ergh....
