Nature slightly shrieked at the sight of the Ninjas, but once she saw that they weren't threats, she calmed down a bit . . . but not so much, since she was still shaking uncontrollably. She rocked herself a bit and kept a wide eye on the Ninjas, making sure they weren't truly threats. ===*=== Seline muttered to herself as she walked along the hall. She was pondering over Nature's walrus plushie, Demyx. Who in the NTWF names a plushie Demyx? A walrus plushie, to add. Seline concluded that her owner was totally off-the-wall weird. Well, maybe there was a logical reason for the Freezemancer's strangeness - Nature was raised in a Neopian circus as a child, and of course, all circuses are weird, so maybe that's why. Seline didn't really know. The Elvish Dragon finally reached Nature's room and, without stopping, immediately jumped on the bed, picked up the walrus plushie with her mouth and soon, walked out and back to the dining room. ===*=== "It is so tempting to simply rush in and remind them sharply of what they have forgotten, but let us try using reason first. There is no need for unnecessary violence. Perhaps they really have forgotten, and need only a peaceful negotiation to help them remember. Unless of course, any of you have any objections..."After hearing this, Lireo snorted. "Why can't we just zap those weirdos?", she asked the Leader (or pretty much everyone in the Hall.) "I mean, can't we just get rid of 'em once and for all?" "Liri," Dymien gently rebuked the lightning-user, gripping his hand unto hers. (He and the Mageri sitting beside Lireo earlier exchanged places, for that Mageri didn't like Lireo very much.) He knew about Lireo's slightly sadistic nature and her tendency to get into trouble with Evandra when she disagreed with either the second-in-command or the Leader. Marthae rolled her eyes at this public display of affection shown by the blue-eyed man for his blonde lover. She looked at her tarot cards, silently asking them how the reaction of the Leader toward Lireo's remark would go. ===*===
Seline came back into the dining hall, walrus plushie in her mouth. She suddenly stopped and stared when she saw the Ninjas in the room. "Okay, who invited the shadow people?" ===*===
((XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD That's all I can say.))

"Come out, gals. I think you should explain what really happened while we were... around the Manor."
PFA sighed. "Well, guess that's our cue," she said to the other ninjas, as she stepped out from her hiding place beside the door and walked into the kitchen.
The ninja took a moment to notice which of the mages were here. There was Omni, Celestial, Kat, that one Zafara that Omni was with a lot lately... the name escaped her. There were also a couple mages that PFA wasn't as familiar with. Particularly the ice mage. He was probably new or something.
"So, um," PFA started, brushing a stray piece of hair away from her face. "We were heading out on a mission..." She paused briefly to ponder over whether or not she should tell the mages what this mission was. She decided not to for now. "...And on our way, we got ambushed by a trap.
"First there was a boulder..." PFA made a gesture to the boulder piece that Uncle had shown the mages. "...And then there were a lot of fireballs, which had to be magical somehow from what we could figure. Any idea who'd set up such a trap? And... do you think the boulder was made by earth magic?"
Can you even tell? was what she didn't say. She didn't know a lot about auras... or magic in general, really.

"I mean, can't we just get rid of 'em once and for all?"
Evandra bristled and glared at Lireo. "Didn't I say order? Do not speak so disrespectfully before our Leader!" She turned to him, but much to her surprise, he was chuckling again. Why was he always so amused by those who spoke out of turn?
"Well, I did ask if there were any objections." The Leader answered Evandra's silent question and walked away from his podium and searched the audience for Lireo. "And there is. Does anyone else feel this way?"
Once again, Althius raised his hand and stood up straight, looking the Leader in the eye - or rather, the part of his hood that concealed his eyes. "Well...she does have a point, you know. That would be so much easier than reasoning with them. I mean, they keep all sorts of...of...things in that Manor I can't even think about! But yeah, rushing into things won't do either. We would need some planning, observe them a bit..."
"Ah, yes," said the Leader, nodding. "Observation. We can see what they have been doing wrong and offer ways of...correcting them. Now, who else thinks we should skip the negotiations?"
* * *
"Boulders and fireballs...an elementalist. Or elementalists," Kat said more to herself than to her audience. "Classic." She cleared her throat and continued, picking up the boulder piece and turning it over and over in her hand. "The only aura I can detect from this rock is totally unfamiliar. And, I think this boulder could have been created by magic, but it's more probable that it was merely controlled."
She placed the piece of boulder back onto the table. "Anything else you could tell us? Anything would help. And would you like some cookies?"

The way he heard it from the mages, Cat Assassin noticed the cluelessness on the part of them about the trap they had triggered a while ago. Kat had told them that the boulder might have been magically created, and that the fireballs would've been created by an elementalist. While both facts might be true, Cat Assassin partially anticipated those explanations. "If you're saying the truth, then the boulder and the fireballs would come from someone else other than the mages," he breathed out.
Seeing that the discussion might come to a quick end, Cat Assassin pulled out another thing from his coat pocket. He gently placed it on the table and pushed a button from it.
It was a tape recorder.
The recorder emitted a short moment of white noise, but eventually cleared out to reveal a message he received from Cylak's communicator.
"We've taken her," spoke out a rather low voice. Cat Assassin grimaced a bit as he went on to pick up the recorder. "... That was coming from the owner of the staff, or at least only technically. She couldn't have said something like that in such a low voice," he added.
"... I fear that she might've been kidnapped," the cat ended.

"Ah, yes, observation. We can see what they have been doing wrong and offer ways of...correcting them. Now, who else thinks we should skip the negotiations?"Dymien quickly raised his hand without hesitation. As stated a few posts earlier, he hated all illegal mages and wanted to do with them quickly. Marthae gave the young man a questioning look, then decided not to raise her hand, for she trusted in all the Leader's decisions wholeheartedly. Soon, some hands were up in the air, agreeing on one thing: Not one illegal should be left alive. ===*=== ((No post for Nature or Seline and Demene. XD;; Sorry.))

Overlord saw the rock and staff that Kat and the ninjas were discussing. While Celestial was feeling down, he needed to take control, even with the limited amount of magic that he posessed. Hopping down from her shoulder he looked at it, noting the fine crystals inside it. Overlord spread his wing across it, making sure the four gold feathers were touching it and performed a simple scan spell, relaying the information back to Celestial.
The rock was curious. While the mages around him thought that it was done by elementals, Overlord was not so sure. Elemental magic had the downside of wearing down anything it touched, if only a little. This rock showed none of the wear and tear, not even a scratch. This was suspicious and doubtful that it was the work of elemental mages. But if not them, who. It was confusing indeed. Overlord flew back to Celestial's shoulder and told her all that the scan showed.
Celestial looked up at the rock. It was a igenous rock, possibly granite but she couldn't tell from such a small piece but there was definitely some dead fire in there. Beyond that she could not feel anything and only knew as much as Overlord could tell her.
"These are not normal elemental mages, there is no mark on that stone to show manipulation like there would be if it was moved with elemental magic. We are dealing with something dangerous here, perhaps a magic totaly unknown to us" she said, her voice faltering a little. However, the ominous tape recorder caught her off-guard. She jerked a little but soon settled down but by the time she had managed to get herself to listen, the message was finished.
"... That was coming from the owner of the staff, or at least only technically. She couldn't have said something like that in such a low voice,... I fear that she might've been kidnapped," Vyt said. Celestial sat up, a million questions whirling through her head. Kidnapped? Who? Where? however what disturbed her most was that these were the same people who were not the elemental mages, the ones with undetectable magic. It seemed like two groups of mages wanted to do harm to two guilds.
But what if they were the same group? Celestial quickly dismissed the idea. This group could not have a grudge against mages and ninjas. Yet she thought of what they hated; animal/human hybrids came to her mind first. Looking at Cat Assasin it was easy to picture him being hunted by them although she was sure he would not go down without a heck of a fight, Guild Wars was enough to prove that for Celestial.
"Kat, Omni...what if these magic users and the ones that we have recieved word of are the same ones?" she asked, voicing her thoughts. Even if they were wrong, she was willing to take the risk because who knew, they could be right.
However, the niggling feeling of historical fact bothered the Dragon Mage. It seemed to her that while they were here wasting time, the other magi were preparing to fight. It made her shudder to think of what happened when one civilisation met another and what would happen if one of them was superior.

Omni had to reach for the staff to get it. She hadn't held it for very long before she felt something. "Woah!" She put down the staff, then continued with "Magical amplification, definitely." I'm guessing the second amplification multiplied the effect. She held her hand above the staff, moving her moving her hand back-and-forth above it. "I'm getting the strongest aura at the orb. Haven't noticed anything else, yet."
"Kat, Omni...what if these magic users and the ones that we have recieved word of are the same ones?"
"Certainly a possibility, especially considering the timing." She paused, then looked at the group of ninja. "How about we work together? We may have a common enemy, and besides that, two guilds are better than one.
"This person, what is she like?"

((Celestial, Vyt's not around. I'm only using Cat Assassin. )) Cat Assassin simply nodded at Omni's offer to join forces, and with Celestial he had the same thought of who abducted Cylak. For a moment, he turned to the ninjas, knowing that he had taken him not only to a simple mission of checking something out. "Sorry guys if I haven't told you about this... Superior doesn't even know my real reason why I took this mission, but I'm officially declaring this a rescue operation," he sighed. Cat Assassin then positioned himself so that the mages and the ninjas were in front of him. "... This person I'm talking about has the power to make contact with souls. She can take their form and manipulate their past powers, and unfortunately one of the souls with her was a mage." He took a glance at the staff before continuing. "... And that staff belonged to her." "Now, I'm no stranger to rumors about a group against you mages, and I fear that she had been abducted while she took that mage's form. Though she can reform herself to a different soul, she can't hide her animal features," he described Cylak in the best way possible. "Her yellow fur and cow tail shows a dead giveaway of her anthropomorphic kind, and her childish attitude might not help her escape from her kidnappers." Cat Assassin looked once more at the mages. "If I'm still not being blunt to you, I'm here to ask for your help."

"Kat, Omni...what if these magic users and the ones that we have recieved word of are the same ones?"
"We can never rule out that possibility," said Kat, nodding. "Souls...different souls mean different auras. This Cylak character can be a little too tricky to track, but I'm sure we'll manage. And if I'm not mistaken, manipulation of souls is definitely something the Mageri would frown upon, even more so if the one doing the manipulating is not purely human."
"If I'm still not being blunt to you, I'm here to ask for your help."
She shrugged. "I got that vibe when you guys came in, so yeah. I suppose it's time to make our plan of action. You ninjas could sneak into the Mageri's headquarters - but the problem is, we have absolutely no idea where it is. And the aura trail would be long dry by now. I'm going to raise the Manor's defenses too; I'm not the head, but hopefully it will listen to me. Please don't disturb me unless it's absolutely important."
And with that, Kat sat down again and drew her wand, which extended into its full staff form. Clutching it so that one end rested on the floor and the other was directly in front of her face, she closed her eyes. When they opened again, they were nothing but pools of sparkling purple.
Only a mage would be able to detect any other signs that she was doing her job besides her purple eyes.
* * *
"I see," said the Leader, letting out a low breath as he glanced at each and every hand that was raised. "Everyone does feel strongly about this. Now, I would like you all to listen to me. As much as I do want to resolve this problem in the fastest, easiest way possible, it would be such a waste to rush into things if just a simple negotiation would be enough to make them remember.
"And most of all, I do not want to see anyone hurt."
Evandra bowed her head, choosing to stare down at her shoes. Those illegals deserved any and all torture she could think of, but the Leader...he had a point. And he cared very much about them, his beloved followers...
Suddenly, the double doors burst open, revealing a guard who clutched his spear nervously. Snapping out of her reverie, she bellowed, "How dare you barge into the meeting of the Mageri!"
The Leader raised his hand again, and Evandra calmed down. "Pollux, what brings you here?"
"The prisoner...the prisoner has escaped!"

Slothbird watched as the guard got up and kept running. Drat. Slothbird got up... then was knocked down by somebody else running by. The Mageri's prisoner? Slothbird followed silently.
~~~
The Mages and Ninjas reached an agreement. They were working together. Kat raised tried raising the Manor's defences, and the ninjas were going to try and invade the Mageri's headquarters. Hunter thought he was left with nothing to do. Hunter sat down quietly and continued listing to the planning.
~~~
The rest of the Mageri wanted to smite the Mages, without the negotiations the Leader was talking about. Mundus agreed with them, but out of respect for the Leader, he kept quiet. Though, we did have a new offensive trick he wanted to try out, and he doubted that the mages would be able to defend against it. Mundus configured his compass some more.
((Sorry for filler.))

Through the dark creepy halls of the unknown place, Cylak ventured together with the unsuspecting Pollux, who unknowingly lit up the path for her to follow. She had followed the man on his way for about a couple of minutes, and resisted the urge to lead her own in fear of getting lost. It was only when he barged through a certain double doors that she was stopped by her own souls, who felt something ominous coming that way.
"This must be where those people are right now," said Dexter. Cylak looked at him in such a curious way, almost as if asking what he was talking about.
"Cylak, you'd better turn into Dexter and wait here," Mana suggested. "And raise your bow up. I'll be the one to look at that room for you."
Cylak nodded and closed her eyes once more. A flash of light was released upon her body, and she briefly came back to her own self before turning to Dexter for another transformation. Unlike Cat Assassin's ability, which drains the energy out of the user, Cylak's drains that of the soul themselves first. With the soul well-rested, she never minded merging with them too much.
Another blinding flash of light and Cylak was in her another form. An arrow quiver lashed its carry-on rope around her long blue shirt, and her head was given a simple Robin Hood-like cap. More importantly, she was then wielding a bow that once stretched out farther than her body, and now just rested from her foot to her shoulder. Cylak did not mind the difference; half of pulling the bow was Dexter's doing.
Dexter and Cylak raised their bow up, arrow already in place, while Mana used her intangibility to see what was going on through the double doors.

Bettyming sat quietly, listening attently to the conversation. "Souls? Souls are an interesting concept, yes. The connection to the spiritual world. So indeed help would be rather beneficial." She was trying to be polite as possible. Science was powerful, but the Mages controlled things even the leader of her clan would have never understood. She treated them with the most respect as possible. "Please."

Omni raised her eyebrows; that was an unusual ability.
"Souls...different souls mean different auras. This Cylak character can be a little too tricky to track, but I'm sure we'll manage."
"I don't think tracking her will be hard. Sure, the aura of the other spirit would be mixed in, but her own aura should still be there." She looked at cat Assassin. "You said it was one of the spirits with her? If there's at least one that's with her often, then maybe their auras would be wherever she goes. I mean, spirits are sometimes harder to detect, but it's still possible, and they should leave trails just like a living person would."

Meanwhile, in its own little shadow, a shady character lied in wait.
Nothing is going to stop me.

"True, that," Cat Assassin looked at Omni as she suggested that Cylak still had her own aura. "And with her accompanying me in my last journey, I counted four different transformations, which pertains to four souls." He then thought of the years that had already passed since that fateful journey that led to his exile. "Still, it is possible for you mages to at least be able to detect Cylak's souls, what with your knowledge of magic and all that."
Cat Assassin looked at the ninjas. "While the mages try to work out where my friend is, we should scout around for anything unusual," he told them before handing out three modified flare bombs designed by him. Their slightly rugged appearance told them that they were not used for a very long time, but the cat persisted that they still work. "Fire these up to the skies if you're in any trouble, and hopefully we'll be able to hear them."
Cat Assassin turned back towards the mages. "Anyone of you may accompany us ninjas. Possibly this will speed up our search," he thought.

Salah spoke up. "I'm an illusionist -- if you need stealth, I can help you there." She started to smile, before realizing what an insult this must sound like, considering who she was talking to. "I-I mean... I wasn't trying to say that... you know... just that, maybe I could be helpful if..." She trailed off, like she usually did. "Um... if you... don't mind having an unskilled fighter around, I could be of some help?" Salah finished sheepishly, resisting the urge to make herself invisible on the spot.
