Mana looked at the already angry Regna and stepped between him and the Leader, giving a heavy sigh upon positioning herself. It seemed to her that further nonsense would lead them to nothing, and Cylak, having been befriended by the man, would certainly not let them pick on the human. "Fine, if you wish to really know who we are, then we have no choice but to comply," she spoke out, grasping an ethereal version of her cloak that she had worn all the time when she was still living. "Young Cylak really liked you a lot, and if she trusts you then we must learn to do so as well."
Dexter and Nakaw spontaneously stepped up, with the occasional sucker punches when they were walking towards the Leader. Seeing that both might give out a biased version of their story, Mana pointed at them. "The squirrel is Dexter and the fox is Nakaw. The former was a novice police officer while the latter was a thief apprentice; hence the petty quarrels between them two. They both inflicted a fatal blow on each other, and thus were stuck together as bound souls."
"The wolf is Regna, and-"
Regna pushed Mana aside, though not enough to actually throw her off towards the ground. "You have nothing to know about me. I've lived for a century and a half, and nothing on that span will ever be understood by you."
Mana just went silent.

"I can identify various kinds of magic just from the aura," Omni said. "However, other than when it's fairly obvious, I'm not sure how well I can help you. Again, there are lots of mages here. Odds are one of them can help you in one way or another."
"Okay... hope we can find one that can help me..." PFA said with a sigh. She continued browsing absently through the stuff in the room, not really expecting to find anything that she can identify as having messaging magic like Omni described.
However, she did stumble across something that caught her eye.
"Hey Omni, maybe this is what you're looking for?" the ninja asked, gesturing to the object.
((Feel free to decide what the object is... I'm mainly just trying to further the plot. XD;))

Celestial took a breath, recovering from the wind. She felt a little weakness from casting such a strong spell but that must not delay her now. Hoping that whoever was coming towards them was at least knocked out, giving them precious seconds of surprise. Her boots hit off the flagstones as she ran after Kat, trying to anticipate any attack that might come their way. Kat was the guide, Celestial had to be the bodyguard. She would not fail, no matter what the two bickering souls inside her did. Cylak must be important if Cat Assasin went to such lengths to rescue her. ((Fillerish post, I have a fever and can't think at all. . Sorry everyone!))

Evandra fell.
Her bravado was rapidly slipping away; the cat ninja was fast. He had...well, catlike reflexes. Duh, she thought, now on all fours. She had to think of another spell...especially now that she knew she was on her own. Quite a few of the Mageri had chosen to stay away from their fight, thinking that it was hers alone.
But she had to keep him here.
"I didn't say I would search for your friends," Evandra sneered, struggling to get up.
* * *
Take my spell and go! You will be taken outside the Hall, and there you must search for the dragon mage and the fire-controlling human. Go!
Castor nudged Pollux. "Did you - "
"Yes."
They disappeared noiselessly from the room, to reappear in the corridor outside.
"Let's go," they told each other simultaneously, and started down the first corner they saw.
* * *
Kat made her way, looking back only occasionally to make sure Celestial was still behind her. The aura was still there, guiding them...
Suddenly, it disappeared. She stopped in her tracks, probing the hallways for any trace of it. But there was none...it was as if Cylak had just vanished into thin air.
"No!" she gasped, gripping her staff tightly. "I don't believe it...the aura's gone! But...how can that be?"
* * *
"You call that a fireball? That thing can't even cook our dinner for tonight!" exclaimed a young fox, dissolving into giggles. But she paused, wiping the tears of mirth from her eyes. "Oh, I'm sure you can do better than that. You just have to put your mind into it."
The young boy pouted. "I AM putting my mind into it!" he whined, closing his hand into a fist. The fireball disappeared with a hiss and a wisp of smoke. "I'm trying!"
"Don't waste your time on him, Kitari," a stockier fox drawled, walking over to them. He chortled, and pushed the boy to the ground. His lank black hair fell magnificently into his eyes, and he pushed it away to glare at the fox who had shoved him. "He'll never learn. Silly human. Not everyone is meant to learn magic, anyway."
"Don't say that!" complained Kitari, holding him back. "Ali, please. He's only an apprentice..."
Ali snorted. "Apprentice? Hah! When we were apprentices, we could create much better things than tiny fire marbles!"
"Shut up, Ali!" the boy cried. But he screamed and dived aside when flames suddenly erupted in front of him before disappearing completely. Ali laughed even harder, and rolled about on the ground. "SHUT UP! You'll see...someday I'll be the greatest magician in the world! I'll master all the magics in this world, and I'll be so much better that you'll be begging for lessons...from me!"
Kitari raised her paw to speak, but her brother spoke first between guffaws, still lying on the ground. "That...that'll be...the day!"
The Leader blinked. He was back in his office, listening to Cylak's souls.
"I see," was all he could say. "I assume that when Cylak joins me to further the world's quest for knowledge, you four will join as well..."

(Sweet. The Leader's backstory coincides with Cat Assassin's kind. ) "That's where you're wrong, furless," Regna hissed out. "You may have fooled Cylak, but not us. Whenever she merges with any one of us, you do not have control." Cylak gasped upon seeing Regna being mad. "Stop picking on big human, Regna! He's doing nothing to make you angry!" she shouted. "He's doing nothing yet, Cylak. Cat Assassin would agree with me." Cat Assassin. She had almost forgotten about him. The cat must've been dead worried about her. "Human, human! I want to see Cat Assassin now!" she requested, feeling a bit sorry for whatever would happen to him. ----------------------------- Cat Assassin wasted no time playing with Evandra. As soon as she fell down to another one of his kicks, he made it a point not to waste time and charged towards her at his fastest speed. Grabbing the human's neck, Cat Assassin hoisted her up in the air, choking her in the process. "I'll ask you again; where's Cylak?" he told her with much hissing in his voice. That was one of the rare times that the cat was impatient.

((I'm baaack! )) Stuck inside the Mage Manor while the others are doing something . . . darnit, why me? Nature sighed as she looked up to the ceiling lying down on one of the Manor's sofas. Obviously, the Zafara was as bored as she can be. The only sounds filling the Manor were the endless "What do you want to do now?s" and "I don't know, what do you want to do now?s" coming from Seline and Demene, who were also very bored. With a sigh, Nature closed her eyes and sang mentally to herself. Soon, she had drifted off to sleep. ===*===
A young cow girl is lying down on the dusty floors of a musty dungeons, completely unconscious. A dark-hooded figure stands in the dungeon's door, in its hand a green colored potion. Slowly, it walks up to the unconscious cow and forces the potion in her mouth. Then it backs away.
Nothing happens at first.
Soon, a iridescent glow surrounds the unconscious girl. It consumes her completely, filling the dungeon with a blinding light . . .
Soon, no longer is a cow person there.
. . . But a human.===*=== Nature woke up with a start. She jumped up from her lying position and scratched her head with a worried expression on her face. What does this dream mean? Suddenly, she froze. Beads of worried sweat trickled down the Zafara's fur. Cautiously, Nature got off the sofa, summoned her sitar and prepared it for attack. "Who's there?" ===*=== Stupid NTWF mages. How the heck did they get here?! Lireo had stormed out of the Leader's office to attack those who broke in their headquarters. There were three of them, too - three times the torturing fun for her, as far as Lireo was concerned. Her expression of annoyance changed to horror when she saw Dymien seated in a corner of the Hall(?), looking badly singed. Lireo rushed immediately to him. "Dymien!" She examined him quickly. There were some burn marks on his face and arms. "What the heck happened to you?!" Dymien rubbed his charred arm in pain as Lireo helped him up. "The dragon mage . . ." He mumbled loud enough for the lightning-user to hear. "One of her fireballs hit me, darn it." He pointed to the door. "They exited that way. Castor and Pollux followed them." An idea suddenly popped into his head. "Hey, why don't we help 'em?" Lireo shook her head. "No," she replied slyly. "I have a better idea." With that, the lightning-user sent a full electric zap around the whole headquarters save the Leader's office, making sure the broke-in illegal mages could not escape it's painful wrath. It didn't hit the other Mageris, though. ===*===
The second-in-command was down and out. Marthae watched in horror as the cat ninja pummeled Evandra down. With hesitation, Marthae picked up someone's fallen stick, ran to where Evandra and the cat ninja was and whacked him across the head really hard. Marthae was surprised as she did so. She didn't know she was that strong. Dropping the stick, she then rushed to help up the fallen Evandra. "Ma'am! Ma'am! Are you alright?" The clairvoyant potion maker asked as she helped the second-in-command up. ===*===
what the-- the cow turned human?!
oh dear, it has.
is this even possible?!
. . .
. . .
. . . i don't know.

((... The first time I saw your edit, I didn't know how to act for Cat Assassin. o.O))
Cat Assassin looked at Evandra like she was his prey, the narrow pupils in his eyes piercing its way through her sense of bravery. "If you're not answering, you might as well suffer a broken bone or two-"
THUG.
Cat Assassin felt something heavy swung by the back of his neck. He was not able to see what it was, but the shaking of his head proved it. Forced to remove Evandra from his grasp, the cat fell down on his knees and watched as one of the Mageri helped his opponent.
"... Why are you doing this?" Cat Assassin struggled to sustain his consciousness, but the sharp blow to his head gave him no time to do so. "... Cylak's done nothing wrong..."
Finally unable to regain his composure, Cat Assassin collapsed to the ground with the sudden outburst of energy surrounding him no longer lingering. With the cat's drop, a small photo fell from his coat and landed neatly just in front of Evandra and Marthae.
It was the photo of him with Cylak and three others, smiles running over their faces.

((Sorry for the double post, but I'm very desperate.))
"... FIRE!"
From one of the trees around Mage Manor, a bottle with an unknown liquid inside was tossed up into the air. Like the eye of the storm, it had its quiet moment in mid-air before colliding with the ground, causing the liquid to burst out immediately into huge flames.
"... MORE FIRE!"
More and similar bottles were thrown, this time surrounding the Mage Manor with fire.
"Fire is fiery!"
A shadowy figure then jumped out of the tree he was on, landing himself neatly on the remainders of the grass. With the shade of the leaves now off his body, he shoved the messy pile of leaves away from his robe and let his loose clothing flap around with the wind to reveal the arsenal of bottles around his waist.
"Char is here, and he wants to play!"
One of the most agile and stealthy members of the Mageri, Char was known for his crafty knowledge of alchemy and his cleverness. While less competent in terms of magic, he covered his weakness with his past life of being a circus clown, putting himself just a couple of ranks below the Leader.
"I know you're there guys! Let's play fire!"
((Rejoice, Mage Manor inhabitants. You get a wild encounter.))

Bettyming ducked, avoiding a bottle that might have flown through the window. Despite her knowledge of medical science, she couldn't do anything now. She was unable to concentrate. And to add to that, she was on one of the upper floors, and a terrible shot. Jumping out the window would certainly result in death, and possibly a broken leg. Bettyming was trapped. All she could do was hope that she was not hit by a bottle.

((*cracks knuckles*))
"Human, human! I want to see Cat Assassin now!"
"One of your friends?" asked the Leader. He could feel Lireo's lightning all around the Mageri headquarters and knew that she was fighting. But his office was impervious to her spell - and thankfully, it would keep Cylak safe. The last thing he wanted was to suddenly have Cylak shocked into submission again. No, no torture, especially not with her souls watching his every move. She would definitely trust them more than him, even if she was beginning to trust him a little.
Thinking of Lireo's spell, the Leader sighed. If Cylak saw this Cat Assassin all scorched up, he would lose the opportunity to draw her and her bodiless comrades into the Mageri.
"Patience, young one," he said. "I will have someone bring him in, and you can see him." Closing his eyes, he began searching for Evandra.
* * *
Evandra gasped for air; that cat had a firm hold. Had it not been for Marthae acting just in time, the second-in-command would have been strangled.
"I'm all right," she whispered, taking several deep breaths. Cat Assassin now lay unconscious, thanks to Marthae giving him a hefty thwack to the back of the head. Something fluttered out of his coat - something light and flat. Evandra snatched it up.
The cow soul-person-thing was there, along with the cat and three other animals. Well, she couldn't classify them as humans, not with how they looked. She narrowed her eyes and stuffed the photo into her pocket.
"There's more of them," she told Marthae. "We have to act now..."
Evandra.
Sir?
Yes, Evandra, it is I. Do you have the cat who has infiltrated our headquarters?
Of course, sir. Marthae got him. What should we do? And it seems he has friends...friends like himself. He's probably looking for our cow.
I knew it. Yes, she just told me right now.
You're TALKING with her?
What is important right now is that you take him to my office. Since you must remain there, have another Mageri take the cat to me. In five minutes, we will shift to the west wing of the second floor. Yes...have Marthae do it. You must lead the Mageri while I am...
Talking with the - oh, please forgive me, sir.
Forgiven. See you later, Evandra.
Wasting no time, she said to Evandra, "Take him to the Leader. He requests the presence of the feline ninja. I will stay here and form a plan to find the rest of these illegals. Castor and Pollux are tracking the cat's friends, so we'll have to strike at the source...the NTWF. Go, and return as soon as you can."
* * *
Before Kat could consider trying to track Cylak again, she could feel a sudden buildup of electricity in the air. She screamed as her body was racked by the sheer voltage, but managed to keep clutching her staff.
It was a struggle to summon a shield spell - spoken words often worked better than mental incantation - but soon the purple shield flared all around her and Celestial, like a great sparkling dome that withstood the electricity.
"Whoever that mage is, she should give me lessons," Kat whispered, shuddering after her rather shocking ordeal.
* * *
"I know you're there guys! Let's play fire!"
"Char, we were supposed to wait for the right time to strike," grumbled a redhead as he stepped out from behind the tree Char had been hiding in. But he had to admit, the sight of Mage Manor surrounded by fire was a very interesting sight. What kinds of tricks would those illegals resort to now? Perhaps they would call on their resident pyromaniacs - there was always at least one in every mage guild.
Fire. Such a powerful element...either it was controlled, or it controlled. Varoun smiled.
"Save your bottles for later, when we actually fight them," he drawled. "We've already given them the appetizer...a distraction. Then I'll pick them out, one by one...pity my little brother never learned archery. I know accuracy isn't passed down, but I really pity Althius and his erratic eyes."

Something very odd was going around here. Nature felt it thorughout her body. It felt a bit too warm and a bit too dangerous . . . Fire-user. There's a fire user somewhere near here. The very thought made Nature's skin crawl. She didn't trust most fire-users save for ones she actually knew - fire-users were more powerful than ice, and a fight against them would spell instant doom for her. The Freezemancer gulped. Okay, now what? Should I go and check, or just stay here? She weighed the pros and cons. Well of course, I don't want to die . . . I don't want any of the others to kick the bucket, either . . . but if we don't fight, what would happen to the other Mages? Ooh, why was I left here? I should've told them they chose the wrong person to stay--The sound of crackling fire disrupted her thoughts. With hesitation, Nature clutched on her sitar tightly and walked toward the window where she thought she saw a burst of orange light. D on't worry, Nature, she thought to herself. You're inside the Manor. All you have to do is take a small peek and when you're done, you can just run back in. Not bad, right? May even be the wisest thing you've done in your whole life.Taking no notice of Bettyming, Nature without thinking looked outside the window. There she saw a mad-looking man in a cloak up a tree, holding a bottle of who-knows-what in his had. Nature's eyes grew wide as she realized who this guy was. He was part of the Mageri. It was also obvious that he was looking at her maliciously and looked like he wanted to throw that bottle of his right in her face. "Ohh, snap." ===*=== "Take him to the Leader. He requests the presence of the feline ninja. I will stay here and form a plan to find the rest of these illegals. Castor and Pollux are tracking the cat's friends, so we'll have to strike at the source...the NTWF. Go, and return as soon as you can."Marthae blinked at the second-in-command's order. This woman is crazy, she thought to herself. Me, bring this illegal to the Leader?! What if this cat thing attacks me for dead or something?! But she was afraid of what Evandra would do if she refused. So with a bow, the potion-maker picked up her stick, thwacked the cat ninja hardly across the head again (just in case) and soon found herself dragging him to the Leader's office. "Sir!" She yelled as she went in with the unconscious illegal in her hands. Marthae almost jumped out of her skin when she saw the cow person sitting on the couch looking at her. "You!,"the clairvoyant hissed at the illegal cow girl. "What in blazes are--" She suddenly stopped when she saw the Leader give her a look. She immediately lapsed into a motherly attitude. "I mean, hello dear. Welcome to our lovely old place. How have you been? Have the others been treating you nicely?" ===*=== Hearing the two illegal's loud screams made Lireo giggle with delight as she let her spell continue on. Dymien didn't join along, though - he was busy checking his pocket to see if all his spells were there. He might be needing them sooner. He turned to Lireo once again, whose lips were curled into a cruel (but beautiful) smile. "Come then," the lightning-user whispered to him as she lovingly held his hand (making sure that her spell wasn't hurting him, of course). "Let's go find those illegals." "Right." The two later found the purple mage and the dragon girl wrapped up in sort of purple shield, preventing Lireo's spell from harming them. Castor and Pollux haven't even reached them yet. Dymien smirked to himself when he saw what the purple illegal was trying in vain to do. "I know how to remedy that," he muttered to Lireo and himself. With that, he stepped forward and chanted three ancient words - so quiet they were almost a whisper. At that moment, the purple shield backfired and knocked over the two illegals, causing it to dispel. Lireo had also stopped her lightning magicks at this. "Why hello, ladies," Dymien coolly addressed the two mages with a dangerous air. Lireo stepped beside him, put one hand on her hip and waved at the two with the other, smiling falsely. "How are you enjoy our headquarters?" "We do hope you two are fine," Lireo said sweetly to their victims. Then suddenly she snapped, and a circle of lightning surrounded the two illegals and the two Mageris, making it impossible to escape. "Let the games begin." ((. . . Why must my inner sadist be so evil? T_T)) ===*===

"But I'm too bored!" exclaimed Char before he could throw another concoction. "Besides, we're getting them fried anyways, so why not do it now? We've been waiting around that tree for hours, and all we saw was a lone illegal cat wandering around!"
Char looked very closely on the Manor from outside, and something that he saw made him smile like a madman.
"Toss me some more empty bottles. I' want to remove the fear out of that girls' face," the psychopathic clown laughed.
"Literally."
-----------------------------------------
Cylak sat down the couch upon hearing the Leader's words that she would be able to see Cat Assassin. Her usually bubbly attitude was now full of regret and worry; regret that she had left Cat Assassin by herself and get captured, and worry that Cat Assassin had gone through a lot just to see her again.
Moments of silence had also brought Regna to regret about his past actions, and could be seen whispering something to Mana. In a matter of seconds, they were conversing with each other again, albeit a lot of hisses coming from the wolf barbarian himself.
It was only then when a human came in... dragging an unconscious Cat Assassin. Cylak jumped out of her couch when she saw them not because the human initially spooked her with dangerous anger but of what happened to Cat Assassin. Taking a closer look, she could see blood coming out of Cat Assassin's neck, as well as a lot of bruises from around his body.
When Cylak's head turned towards Marthae, the young girl was mad. "YOU!" she hissed out, her anger then influenced by none of the souls around her. "Why did you hurt C.A.?! He was dead sick looking for me, and you had him hurt?!" she let that last word sting on the human's mind.
Cylak then sensed something that only an Animalia could see. The pupils in her eyes narrowed a bit for a few seconds before returning to normal, but that gave her everything she wanted to know.
"... Regna, merge into me. I want you to kill that girl who dragged Cat Assassin in without any hint of concern."

The mysterious character crept through the Manor, pausing at various rooms and corners, pondering which way to go.
"Who's there?"
The character grimaced. Someone had noticed… An anthro. So much for doing this unnoticed… The character didn't want to have to use magic yet, as it would mean blowing cover.
Turned out, that wasn't necessary. Flames started to burst up around the manor, and those in the room turned their attention to the window.
"Ohh, snap."
'Oh snap' is right. If that's the work of a Mageri, this will complicate things. Still, I might as well make use of the diversion.
The character checked to be sure no one was looking before heading past the door. …If Nature had been paying attention, she might have seen a character in dark colors holding a card in his hand.

Flames burst into being outside the manor, the heat cracking a few of the kitchen windows. The ninja who had waited calmly for orders from her superiors now knew she couldn't afford to wait any longer. The superiors might be displeased that she had acted of her own accord, but there was no way she'd allow any of her fellow ninja to be killed. And the mages too, although she didn't know them well she'd rather not have any unnecessary deaths occur. "I think we should get moving, Hunter-kun." But she was already moving out of the kitchen and towards the staircase as she spoke. It was luck, or maybe the sound of breaking glass that caused Jakie to find the source of the trouble within seconds. Bettyming and one of the mages she didn't know were having their lives threatened by a rather disturbed looking man in a tree. The catlike ninja watched a bottle break through the huge glass window and burst into flame on the floor. So he's the one. She frowned at the look of intense enjoyment at what he was doing on the man's face. What an unpleasant person. I don't think the superiors would mind so much if I get rid of him. Dodging as more bottles smashed to the floor, she drew the throwing axe from her belt and blocked another. "Ninety percent of those diagnosed with pyromania are male. I wonder why that is?" Switching the axe to her right hand, she withdraw a kunai from her belt and threw it through the now broken window. (Yes, she is alive, contrary to popular belief. )

Celestial ran after Kat and while this was a good way of getting about there was no way of knowing what would happen if one of them stopped. As soon as Kat stopped, Celestial kept going on instinct. She braked out with her wings, putting a shield right in front of herself to prevent herself from slamming right into Kat. Celestial flew right into the sheild, sinking like into a cushion. She stopped short of Kat, thankfully.
"Gone?! What do you mean gone?" she asked breathlessly. It couldn't have just vanished into thin air, even if Cylak was teleported. The aura would have simply shifted. No, Cylak was somewhere where they least expected her to be.
"Kat, cover me. I'm going to try and see if there is anything under the floor. Perhaps we are right above her and that is why the aura trail has gone cold. We could have found Cylak" she said, leaning down to the floor. But before she could even focus on the spell she felt a change in the air, like fire that had been concentrated until it could hold no more energy.
The full force of the electricity made Celestial want to scream in pain but she went against the urge. She knew a sheild of air would be worthless, all she could do is bear the pain. Closing her eyes and curling up on the floor, she tried to drown out the storm of electricity.
Suddenly it stopped. Celestial looked up to see Kat standing over them both with a sheild of purple covering both of them. The electricity raged above it but could not go through Kat's shield.
"Thanks" Celestial whispered. "Whoever the mage is, they are good. But we must be better" she said, waiting for the storm to pass.
It seemed to take forever before something happened. Two blurry shapes appeared in the corridor, their outlines made unclear by the shield. Before she could say anything one of them stepped forward and the shield's energy discharged on them. Celestial was knocked over on her side, filling with rage at the contempt of the two Mageri.
Without warning they were locked in a lighting cage. However now Celestial was angrier than ever. She still had an ace up her sleeve, one she used twice during Guild Wars. A little ironic laugh escaped Celestial as she remembered the last time she tried to invade headquarters using that card.
"Yoru headquarters are very...electrifying" Celestial said in a very creepy monotone, her smile broken. First thing she needed was to creep these people out so that the barriers are weakened and their attention drawn.
"Unfortunately I have seen much better. Your's are very easy to get to and navigate, plus they are so cliche. Hidden rooms? Cave? Predictable. That is the problem with villains, they never change their ways" she continued. Make them angry. Angry people don't think about their actions as much she thought to herself, heart fluttering. All Celestial needed was several minutes of distraction and she could get both her and Kat out of the grasp of these two.
