[glow=red,2,300]Past!Leraye stopped waving as the spell fizzled. He found himself in the medical bay area of Spacefleet. He turned and came face-to-face with a monkey-girl. He tried not to make eye contact. Heaven knew if this monkey worked for the Captain or any one of his enemies.
He tried to slip the Gem back into his pockets nonchalantly, but his fingers slipped. the Gem hit the floor with a dull thunk.[/glow]

At that moment, a distinctly enraged real-life Zari poofed into the room. "I just had to throw future me out the window to avoid this whole fiasco from being dicovered by my family." she half-snarled. "Make sure that time-space bike stays under control from now on."
Present-Zari nodded weakly. 'We'll...do...our best..." she managed.
"Good. Oh? We're in public? Sorry for the disturbance..." real-life Zari poofed out again, leaving ZariKrahia's (and clones) both past and present standing with almost identical horrified expressions.
"She got angry."
"Yep, we're in trouble"
"We're keeping a close eye on that bike from now on, kay?"
"Sounds like a plan."

And then he was gone. No poof, no pop. One moment Leraye was there and then just as she was nearly caught up he was gone. She slowed down to a jog until she reached the spot where her target had been standing. Blasted fancy magic folk, always disappearing into nowhere... Keng noticed the irony of this that she was in love with a fancy magic person, but at least he didn't disappear into nowhere for no apparent reason.
scramble-scramble-scratch-scratchscratchscratchscratch THUDSQUEAK!!.
Muskoka was somewhat less successful with the stopping and had to be aided by the solid, unmoving door. He didn't seem to notice that he'd just rammed headfirst into it though.
"Well, I imagine Leraye would have made a much better redemption offering than a bunch of data but... looks like we're back where we were. ... hmm.. I wonder where he was headed... ... or where he just headed for that matter."

"I could track him," Kat said. "But I have to do it quick; since he went by so fast, the traces of his aura I can detect won't be around for too long. They'll dissipate into thin air..."
Hunty made a thoughtful grimace. "Honest answer? You're the top mage of this crew and generally I got nothing against the idea, but this is a demon we're dealing with. A demon with an all-powerful gem. Let's assume you're going to track him down and find him, maybe corner him... then what?"
"Oh lookie there, she's finally employing common sense," Bloody Mary said, shuffling around for a more comfortable position. "Weren't you hellbent on tracking him down for the last what, well over a month?"
"Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean literally pouncing on him and putting a knife on his throat." The captain leaned her back against the wall. "Now that we pretty much got his location pinned down, we need to get tactical if we're to catch him, or this won't work. What do we know about the guy? Strengths, weaknesses?"
"Save the rhetorics," the meepit said dryly. "The idea's simple enough. The guy's a wimp. The only thing there is to him is the gem. As long as he has the gem, we won't be able to do anything. As soon as he loses the gem, we can get him."
"Exactly." She paused. "Tell you what, Kat, could you go check if Goosh is more or less okay and likely to not kick the bucket in the near future, and then try and track Leraye down? Actually it'd be easier if you tracked down Cyborg and Keng, I'm assuming they're easier to read and follow and they went the same way anyway. I don't want to face that demon straight-out, but I would like to at least know which way the situation is going."

Fraze watched the proceedings, wondering what to do next. He kind of wanted to meet back up with the pirates again...but in this situation, he needed to follow whatever his orders were.
Still, that didn't mean he couldn't give suggestions, seeing as he was between orders at the moment. He sent a message off. "This is SO Fraze. There is a delegation of pirates visiting currently, including a few powerful mages. Given the situation, should I stay with them to keep an eye on them?" He didn't know that Keng was already with the aforementioned pirates--and if he did, would likely not have said anything, for Keng's sake. There was a pause. "Affirmative. You're on your own finding them though, the computers here are having difficulties. Apparently, being shot backward nine hours in time isn't very good for a computer system." It took Fraze a couple seconds to realize that he had just heard a joke. He tapped into the computer system. Sure enough, most of the system was completely shot. "Man, so this is what Y2K would have done," he muttered to himself. Still, he found some part of hte system that wasn't fried--in the hospital wing, interestingly enough. Locate the Pirate delegation, he sent to the computer. Unable to locate; provide physical description the computer sent back. He did so, providing both verbal and graphical descriptions. Searching, the AI responded. Match found, displaying location.
The...wait, where was that? Sort of in the vague vicinity of the library? That was the only interesting and civilian-access thing around there. Wait, Rider was closer. "I'm going to look for the Pirates," he told Zari. One of them, anyway, they seemed to be heading every which way, and Fraze couldn't really keep track of them. He found Rider, who from his perspective seemed to be looking longingly at the bar. "Hey!" he called. "I've got the other Pirates located by the computer. Were you looking for them?" Not waiting for an answer, he set off in the direction the medical computer had given. He had broken his link with the comp after getting their location--after all, the medical wing probably needed all the computing power it could get, so Fraze didn't want to use any more than he needed.
Sure enough, they were fairly near where the computer indicated. "Ah, there you are," he called. "I've been told to stay with you." He glanced down at Goosh. "Uh...is he all right?"

[glow=red,2,300]"I've got the other Pirates located by the computer. Were you looking for them?"
Rider put all three non-trippy braincells together to try to figure out how to stop Fraze from going to the Library. Unable to find a solution that Hunty would call "suitably diplomatic," she settled on following him and hoping they were done by the time she got there.
When she got there, Goosh was leaning against a chute and looking like his breakfast made a comeback. Maybe he was reacting badly to the time travel. But that made no sense...
"What's wrong, Goosh? Did I miss something?"
"So you can locate people with the computers in here?" she asked Fraze. "Anyone, really?" The idea didn't sit well with her, but she made an effort not to show it.[/glow]

Suddenly, Zylaa was in way over her head.
From what she had heard of Leraye's actions in the past war, and the gem, he sounded like the sort of person she could only take on with the weasels as backup. (Personally she had just met Leraye once... she vaguely remembered telling him to move off a couch so she could sleep.) But Keng and the large bear -- was it squeaking? -- looked like they could handle it. Unlike, say, Goosh, who looked like he wasn't handling standing upright too well.
Of course, then Leraye vanished.
I don't want to face that demon straight-out, but I would like to at least know which way the situation is going," Hunty said.
Zylaa thought this over as Fraze walked up.
"Captain, I'll take Goosh to the infirmary. Kat's magic will probably be more useful in finding people, and taking them on when you do finally find them." She eyed the very sick Yurble warily for a second, then turned to Fraze. "Please tell me the infirmary's not far from here."

((This is probably a little rushed, but I probably won't be on for just over a week, so yeah xD I'll post when I get back))
Anester watched the gem fall to the ground. Now that made things awkward. If she went for it, and lost, she'd give up hope of getting the gem. Then again, if she didn't, and she followed the target, then she'd probably still look suspicious.
There was't time to make a desicion, so Anester jumped at it. If tehre was a squabble... he probably only carried the gem because he couldn't fight with his fists, anyway. And monkeys can be strong.

"Since when have I been top mage of the crew?" asked Kat, raising an eyebrow. Of course, she couldn't help but smirk. "If only we could somehow catch Leraye without that accursed gem...somehow find a way to make him drop it, but of course, knowing him, he wouldn't want to drop the stupid thing."
"Captain, I'll take Goosh to the infirmary. Kat's magic will probably be more useful in finding people, and taking them on when you do finally find them."
"Then that settles it. Tracking time!"
Kat clutched the staff with both hands and closed her eyes. She had been with the crew for a long time; that was long enough for her to be familiar with most of the pirates' auras. Mages were so much easier to track, since their magic power added to the intensity of their auras...
Well, Cyborg was a mage; that should make looking for them easier.
As Kat concentrated on finding Keng and Cyborg, her staff and the air around her began to glow a brilliant violet. Some of the light pulled together into a bright, flaming arrow that spun rapidly like a compass's pointer as it sorted through the various auras scattered throughout the vicinity.
Tracking was, to be perfectly honest, one of Kat's least favorite magical chores. It required utmost concentration - and it was hard to concentrate with this kind of fiasco. Still, it was one of the more rewarding spells - it meant nobody could hide from her ever again. Well, almost; like any spell, it had its limits, and so did her reserve of power.
She could feel the arrow slow down before stopping completely, pointing Keng and Cyborg's location. That was when Kat opened her eyes, glad that the spell was over.
"Well, that's where they went."
((Mmmkay, so where is the arrow pointing to? You decide. ^_^))

"Is your bear going to be okay? Yes he would have been a better offering. Do you have some sort of tracking system, or security cameras I could see?" Cyborg asked Keng. " If we could follow him with cameras, or track him some other way, it would be a lot easier to catch him."

[glow=red,2,300]Leraye grabbed for the gem, but was too slow. Before his hands had caught up with his brain, a monkey of known origin was running off with the single most powerful magical weapon of mass destruction in the NTWF.
"Since when have I been top mage of the crew?"
"Mostly since you're the only mage of the crew now that Ikkin has been gobbled up by a hole in the universe called 'reel lyf.' Well, the only one besides Cy who doesn't just dabble anyway."
The arrow was pointing to the Dangerous Crud section of Spacefleet. Towards it, anyway, as the doors hadn't been opened. "What happened here?" she asked Keng and Cyborg.[/glow]

((Sorry I haven't posted here lately. …I don't have much of an excuse. )) Ethan was still doing his best to keep the crowd calm, occasionally having to break up a minor squabble. He ran to a young alien girl to keep her from provoking Siber into using his pointies. Then he felt something weird and his internal clock went back several hours. What the…? he wondered, setting his clock back to what it was. He glanced over at the wall clock, which read the same as what his internal clock did a moment ago. He also noticed that the crowd had changed, and was looking rather confused. This is Marine Ethan, he broadcasted to his friends' communicators. Something odd is going on with the time. Did anyone else notice this? What's going on?---------- The team of scientists felt the timewarp. "…What just happened?" Brian thought aloud. Jaliv started looking at the readings. Brian and Fesserfa followed suit, checking their own stations. Jaliv was the first to speak. "It appears the object's energy increased suddenly, creating a pulse which it appears we were unable to contain. The energy levels are now decreasing." Brian pressed a few buttons. "Nothing in the lab seems to be affected. I can't say for the rest of the base, though." Fesserfa thought for a moment. "If this bike really did belong to someone who affected time, then do you think-?" THUDSQUEAK!!Instinctively, they all turned to look at the door. "What was that?" Brain asked. There was a pause before Fesserfa got up to check the door. Pressing a few buttons on a panel, an image appeared, showing the situation outside just the lab. Fesserfa's eyes widened. "Th-there's a bear out there!" Brain raised an eyebrow. "A bear? Are you serious?" He got up to look at the panel himself. "Hey, it is a bear. …A bear with a squeaky toy? I also see a cyborg cat and a wolf, I think it's Comdo Keng." He reached for a button to open the door. "W-wait!" Fesserfa exclaimed. Too late. The door had already slid open, revealing what was behind it. Fesserfa took a couple steps back. "Is something going on out here?" asked Brian.

"Ethan? This is Amneiger. The clock on these computers seems to have jumped back about nine hours or so. The security logs from that period of time seems to be missing; the logger is writing to what looks like a previously empty section of memory. There's no record of any of the things that've happened today. I'm not certain what just happened."

"It does look like Keng and - it's that Mercenary Cyborg. What's he doing here?"

Kat sighed. She wanted to ask why Cyborg and Keng let Leraye get away, but she forgot about it. After all, Leraye was a slippery character; that was no one's fault but his.
"Does this mean we look for Leraye now?" she asked.
