Kay, here it is.
WARNING: Broken images. This was written sometime in 2004, I think.
In 1798, Mary and Ralph Ventratta started the long journey to *insertwherewelivenow*. They spent four and a half months on an old, wooden ship-- the type with long, linen sails that were weak against the violent sea wind and the salty ocean spray. With barely enough to get them by, after those long four and a half months, Ralph and Mary, along with a few others from their native country, settled a village in the hillside. They called it
Jemmyka, which in their old tongue,
Al Bhed, meant "village".
Mary and Ralph were well-known folks in Jemmyka. Ralph, a lumberman in the villagers previous country, built many log cabins for the people to inhabit. There were three different types of cabins people could live in, based on social standing and wealth. The first model was one-roomed with a loft for a bed. A fire was in one corner for cooking, and the rest was furnished with wooden furniture made from the cheapest wood. The second model was three-roomed. This was for the wealthier folk of the village; the first model normally housed only the poorest families. In this model, the first room was a communal room with a kitchen and living space. The second two rooms were bedrooms. The third model was much larger, for only the richest folk in town. This contained five rooms, with a kitchen/living area, many bedrooms, and a sewing room. This was the model that Ralph and Mary, the second-richest citizens in town, lived in.
Below are diagrams of each of the models:
After three years of living in Jemmyka, Ralph was elected mayor. His term lasted for five years, and ended when his only daughter, Hannah, was born, on October 19th, 1806.
On March 1st, 1809, Zachary Ventratta was born. He was the light of Ralph’s life, as the man had always wanted a son. However, at the age of one year and six months, Zachary contracted the flu. This developed into a more serious disease, and Zachary died on his second birthday.
Only about a month later, on March 5th, 1811, Mary gave birth to twins. One was a girl, one was a boy. They were named Michael and Sara.
In 1816, at the age of five, however, Sara drowned while swimming in a lake. The rest of the family was devastated.
Left with only Hannah and Michael, Mary and Ralph Ventratta decided to move away from Jemmyka to the rapidly growing city thirty miles north called Vmuinecrehk, pronounced
FUmooeeneay-ku-raeay-ha-kuk. They made the decision that they were start anew there, so packing only what they needed, the four set off for the nightlong journey to Vmuinecrehk.
With the money they had taken from Jemmyka, Ralph purchased a small home in the heart of the city. He then decided to enroll Michael in school, and for the next years, life was peaceful.
On the fine winter evening that was December 1st, 1823, at the age of 17, Hannah was wed to a wealthy businessman named Theodore Black. The two moved from Vmuinecrehk to the village of Ikmo, one hundred miles west. Because of this fairly far distance from her family, visits between Hannah and her mother, father and younger brother were rare.
On June 6th, 1827, at the age of 20, both Hannah and Theodore were infected with a fatal disease. On September 10th, 1827, Theodore perished; Hannah died only weeks later, on September 30th.
News of her death did not reach the Ventratta family until many weeks later, when they tried to go to Ikmo to make a surprise visit for her birthday. They were both upset and bewildered by their daughter’s death. They headed back to Vmuinecrehk and lived in what some said was seclusion for over a year.
On June 9th, 1829, Michael wed a beautiful young woman called Anna. Together, the two had six children. From first to last: In 1830, Sara, after Michael’s twin sister. In 1831, Hannah, after Michael’s other sister. In 1833, Zachary, after Michael’s brother. In 1835, Noah, after Anna’s father. In 1836, William, after Anna’s grandfather. Lastly, in 1840, Daniel, after Anna’s brother.
In 1848, Sara was wed to a man named James Smith. They moved many miles away to the farming village Vyns. They had four children together. In 1849, Hannah was married to a military leader uptown. They had four children, but they all died before the age of six years old. In 1853, Zachary married a woman named Kate. Zachary is the current generation of Ventrattas’ direct heritage. Zachary and Kate had seven children, two of whom died before nine years old. Noah never married. In 1856, William married a wealthy woman. They had two children. In 1860, Daniel married a woman but she died giving birth to their only child, Ethel.
However, following our direct heritage, Zachary, of the five children that lived past nine-years-old, four were girls, one a boy. The girls were called Cassidy, Edith, Rose, and Lilly. The boy was named Jacob.
Of these five, Jacob links directly to us.
He was born in 1857. In 1876, he married a rather poor woman named Martha. Together, they had two sons, Kenneth, on December 6th, 1878, and Ralph, on June 13th, 1880. By this time, both Ralph and Mary had perished.
Kenneth grew up to be a wealthy, unmarried mayor of a city called
Ihexia. Since he was unmarried, he did not have any children.
Ralph married a young woman on July 5th, 1900. Her name was Abigail and together they had one daughter and three sons. The daughter, Simone, died at three from fever. Two of the sons died in similar ways at nine and twelve years of age.
The remaining son, Adam, was the youngest. He had been born on August 14th, 1907. He is our great-grandfather.
Married in 1926, at 19-years-old, to our great-grandmother, Ruth, Adam had two children, Amelia, in 1929, and Ruben, on January 3rd, 1933. Amelia grew up and married an engineer named Joseph Shaddi. Together they had four children; Alice, Harriet, Ralph, and Diana. All grew up healthy and happy.
On February 6th, 1955, at 22-years-old, Ruben married our grandmother, Carole. They had five children together.
The father of Ginz, Ery, Rider, Kat, NSQ, Eri, Blub, Carrie, and Erika was the oldest, and he was named Seth. He was born on June 1st,1959. He married a woman named Jeanne, the mother of the above children, on the splendid moonlit evening of August 22nd, 1980. He and Jeanne died on June 6th, 2001 when their car exploded.
The second oldest was Eva. She was born on May 24th, 1961, and had no children. She was killed in a river-boat accident on September 2nd, 1981.
The middle child was the father of Eggz, Puzz, Fj0rd, and Kittygirl. His name was Erik. He was born January 16th, 1963. He married a lady named Cheyenne on June 12th, 1983. However, he and Cheyenne divorced after only three months, and two months later, Erik married the mother of his children, Katelyn. Both he and Katelyn died when Seth’s car exploded on June 6th, 2001.
The second youngest child was the father of Sammy, Luna, and Echo. He was born February 25th, 1964, and was called Robert. On March 31st, 1983, at the age of 19, Robert married an 18-year-old woman named Laura. She was the mother of Sammy, Luna, and Echo. Both Laura and Robert died on a fishing-boat accident April 7th, 1999.
A few of the children have their own children and are married. However, since these marriages are only official by tabloids, we will not count them on family history.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about your heritage.
