It's really late and PFA should be going to bed right now BUT SHE HAS TO POST THIS HERE NAO because it's cool. >_> www.vgmusic.com/new-files/HugePillar.mid*pokes the link* Yeah. I made that. :3 (Oh, except it might give you one of those "please don't hotlink" messages, so you might want to copy-paste or something.) And I actually submitted it to VGmusic.com, that midi site where I got most of the music in my iTunes library. AWESOMENESS RUSH. On an unrelated note, VGmusic's uploading system is not quite like PFA was expecting. XDDD; She was expecting them to have to listen to all the midis BEFORE putting it on the site, rather than immediately sticking in the new uploads section. But what the hey; this means I can show it to you guys sooner. :3 Sometime later on, it may or may not be added to the actual database. Which would be pwnsome. <3 SO UM YEAH. Listen plz. AND BECAUSE PFA'S BRAIN IS TIRED AND CAN'T THINK she forgot to mention what the song is. XD; It's from Kirby Air Ride, and it's the tune that plays when that huge pillar appears in City Trial mode. Hence the name Huge Pillar. Creative, ne? SO. Yeah. *slinks off before her mom gets mad at her for still being on the computer* >_>

It's so cool that you submitted something to VGMusic! =D I hope it gets into the archive. I have one or two songs on there somewhere, if you can find me.
I used to frequent the VGMusic forums to help improve my composing. I learned a ton of things from other members by listening to their original songs, and also by posting my own songs and getting feedback on how it can improve. Their comments can be a bit nitpicky at times, but i'd like to think that I walked out with a better knowledge of music from the experience.
But I digress. The rate at which your composing skills are improving never ceases to surprise me, PFA. ^_^

Thanks, Strife! ^_^ I hope it does, too. Ooh, are your songs in the archive, or just in the new uploads section? *considers looking*
Ooh, that sounds like it would be a good idea. :3 Maybe I'll have to get some nitpicking myself sometime. 'Cause, you know, it's good to hear some nitpicking now and then if you actually try and improve on it.
And aw, thanks. ^_^

Ah! I love it! Low bass is so underappreciated. (I used to play French Horn :3) I especially like the part where the tempo picks up, about 1/3 into the song. But it sounds awesome as a midi. Fantabulous job!

Fantabulous job! Thanks, glad you like it! ^_^ And, um, actually the tempo stays the same throughout the whole song (my version of GarageBand won't even let me change the tempo at all, actually), so I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to. XD; Thanks, though!

It sounds like video game music combined with something else that I can't quite put my finger on...
Overall, pretty good. =D The first few seconds have some sour notes in there, though, that hurt my ears. XD

And what part of the tune are you referring to, exactly? I'm fairly certain that I messed up that first measure... but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to or not. ^_^;

XD It's that really low computer-y sounding note. like "BEEEUUUU"

In the midi (I didn't listen to the MP3 version)

In the midi (I didn't listen to the MP3 version) Really low... hmm, the only thing that comes to mind in that case is my MIDI composer's really lame excuse for drums. XD; (Seriously, the thing lacks decent drums.) But I dunno.

It might be that the midi version doesn't sound the same on your computer, Killix ^^ Midis sound different when played on different computers with different soundcards, so an annoying beep might be just a bad coincidence for you. Btw, great track, PFA I like the way the melodies and counter melodies interact with each other so playfully ^^

I heard a sound similar to what Mowfy said, but it's fairly quiet.
*Nods at Pacmanite* Sounds about right.

Thanks Pacmanite, Clocky. ^_^ And yeah, the sound card thing is a possibility.
