Sorry for not being clear. I got all that. I just wanted to know more about what those papers were, why you were fighting over them. Because I don't think papers were important to fight over. Live humans are worth more than dead trees. (yay for pacifists XD) Ah. ... ............... BOYS! >____> Amnei, that's one interesting offer. I'll think about it. As soon as I'm done suppressing laughter at the mental image of phone line juggling between two dons. Downside of living in a dorm: I need to keep my sweet and quiet image in front of my roomie.

Just to understand the boundaries...
Where is this all taking place? Does it take place on the 'Bloids or somewhere else? NPCs (Non-Payable-Characters, heh heh...) tend to get cranky if this sort of thing happens in the wrong place of the NTWF Country/Planet/Galaxy/Universe, and that can be quite tedious.

It was dim in the alleyway where Nature stood. She snapped shut her ‘watch’ and put it away. Then she looked up at the silent shape that was gliding down to her. The Whoot landed on her arm, and gave her a letter. Nature smiled. The Whoot looked at her balefully. She chuckled and handed him a tidbit. “Here’s your reward, greedyguts. Growing up between people like me has taught you, hasn’t it?”
Then Nature flipped open the letter, and quickly read it. Suddenly her face expression changed. Her Whoot cocked his head, and she spoke to him. “Don Hunty says less talk, more action, Archimedes. Go shoot someone straight off. We know that’s not my style, Archimedes. Let someone else catch the blame for first blood. We have our own ways, don’t we?”
Nature glanced at the quickly darkening sky. “It’s time to get moving, Archimedes.” And she strolled out, hands in pockets, humming a tune known only to herself. ***
During dramatic wars, people tend to be suspicious of each other. Nature was wise of these ways. She kept her head down as she walked through the crowded main street. Of course, people were sharp, but not sharp enough for her fingers. Nature appeared perfectly normal. That was what pleased Nature so much about her profession. It was something nobody knew about.
She casually walked away from the crowd, and found a peaceful cul-de-sac alleyway to sit in. Archimedes swooped in with something, and Nature felt satisfied at her finds. “Information is treasure, Archimedes. Being a fingersmith comes in handy.”
She inspected the papers in front of her. There was ammo swiped out of guns, junk paper, and finally, Nature found what she was looking for. “And attack plans are very precious to get hold of indeed. So what have you brought me, Archimedes?”
The clever Whoot handed another letter. Nature read it, frowning. “Don Carrie wants me to join? Money over family? I know you’re a mercenary? We want you with us?” She stood up, feeling furious. “How the heck…? I need to keep a little more concealed.”
She threw the paper on the ground, then thinking again, picked it up. “C’mon, Archimedes. Time for some enemies to get eliminated.”
***
Nobody notices Nature’s work. She’s too quick for that. Nobody really sees people grabbed into alleys who don’t come out. That night, Nature was starting.

I love it when that happens. In seventh grade, I read Malcom X's autobiography (great book), and my English teachers were all over me (if they weren't before.) Happens everywhere. I went over to a friend's house once, and her father was like idolizing me. "Mature, nice girl, a wonderful friend for you!" My friend and I seriously laughed over that (he was talking to her). You oughta see my reports. "An academic, serious girl, interested and brilliant in French." "She is well mannered and a pleasure to teach." etc etc etc. When I'm in a bad mood I go read them.

Hey, I think I'll be joining you, Carrie. Bringing guns and my 100 percent genuine mobster accent (well, I do live in Brooklyn!) XD
