Hmm. Well, when I was REALLY little, I loved this book called The Chicken Book. I think the first time I had a real, favorite, obsessed-with book, though, was when I read a book called Alice and Greta. It's about two witches, one is nice and one is mean (guess which is which), and... darn it, now I don't remember well enough to distinguish the book from its sequel, but, basically, in both books the nice witch, Alice, wins, because she uses this spell that Greta didn't bother learning: the boomerang spell. I even remember what the words were: "Whatever you chant, whatever you brew, sooner or later comes back to you." God, I have a great memory for little details like that.

The Hobbit. I was around 6 or 7 if I recall. Before that I'd happily read anything that was in front of me, being the obsessive little reader I was. It wasn't until then that I'd actively hunt down a book because I wanted to read "that" book.

I couldn't have read 'The Hobbit' at that age. When I was that young I thought stories about the lenght of a Short Story in the NT were long. XD

I used to love reading Hop on Pop with my dad, but I don't actually remember reading it with him. (But I do remember the jumping that ensued after.)
The first chapter book I loved was when I read 'Where the Red Fern Grows' in... second grade. I have always and still do love that book. A must read for all.

The favorite book when I was a kid was The Rainbow Fish. It tells of a beautiful fish with all of these shiny, colored scales. He would not share the scales with the other fish in the sea, but in the end, he ends up giving all his scales away except for, like, one or two. It is such a cute story. I loved it. I loved that book too! It wasnt my first favorite though, I think my first favorite was "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" Heck, thats still my favorite!

I loved all Dr. Seuss books, but my favorite three were Happy Birthday, Moon by Frank Asch Corduroy by Don Freeman and later, one I was really obsessed over was The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown

Wow, reading through this topic brings back memories. I remember Go, Dog, Go! and Hop on Pop. I really liked both of those. I think maybe my favourite one was about this bear named Wilburforce, I think it was called Wilburforce Goes to School. He got involved in all sorts of humourous shenanigans. Ah, those were the days.

I learned to read on Dr. Seuss. So I guess that was my first favorite book. :3 Then in 2nd grade I began reading Harry Potter... ...And you can kind of take a guess.

I loved The 101 Dalmatians and the sequel, which was The Starlight Bark. I read those SO many times. ^_^ And some of my first fanfiction was written for that book too, although before that I was writing stories about Disney characters and stuff like that... It's funny to look back through my old stuff XD
