Ack, third form. I lost to him once; I hope that's worth something. I kind of wish this boss battle were with a previously established villain (as the boss battles in CoM or Meridell); the mayor hasn't really played much of a role. Keehee, I damaged him 68 HP. My poor labbie had only just gotten blasted by the Snowager and partially healed, so she only had 10 HP to start with. I feel so terrible for doing that even once. So we're at the point where we're battling some unstoppable monster with an unthinkable difficulty... isn't this the point where most of our other war plots, or at least those involving the battledome, near the climax? Is the end of this plot coming into sight? ...Or is there going to be another majorly weird plot twist coming in at the last minute? ^_^ I hope there's a twist. ^^ But then, we are pretty far into it, and the plot's been running without a hitch... it could all just end here. :/ I'm also hoping that the puzzle part of the plot will get more challenging and/or have additional fun steps to complete, because I like the puzzles. ^^ This plot really hasn't been on the difficulty scale of the LDP, so I don't know if the prizes are going to be as good... but we'll see, eh? I dunno, it seems the Mayor might have some knowledge of the whole thing. He did know about the Spirit of Slumber, and appears to retain at least some shred of sanity compared to the other townspeople. Eh, I'm hoping they shed some spotlight on the family- I'd expect they get more of a part in all this, especially Reginald.

Still in Sophie's Shack...
Made the Spectral Essence, and the 12 gram Composition. BOTH Conjuring and Divination were 83 exactly, threw it in, and blammo.
Y? Y? Y? Y? YYYYYYYY???
Why didn't it work? Now I have to go through that whole ordeal AGAIN! ___________________________________________________
EDIT: Okay, I'm making Spectral Essence again. Once I'm done with that, I'm gonna shoot for the second composition.
I used only Sharpgrass to make it. Was that why it failed?

If that's the one where it says you can't use more than 3g of any one ingredient and you used all sharpgrass, yes, that's probably why it blew up.

If that's the one where it says you can't use more than 3g of any one ingredient and you used all sharpgrass, yes, that's probably why it blew up. That's a common misconception. You can use just sharpgrass (or whatever ingredient). You just cannot have any sample with more than 3g. IF, for example, you need 12g of stuff, you can use 4 samples, EACH with 3g sharpgrass. Same for all the other ingredients.

Yeah, I used the same ingredients when it came to those rules. As long as you split them into whatever number of grams you need I think I used the Jurple Berries the most in those.

Bweeheehe. X3 I got sick of battling, so I instead bought a bunch of potions, went to the boards, and set up my own thread that said, "The first ten people to post 'I'm not sick of losing to the mayor yet!' gets a healing potion!"
That was fun. =3

I've been thinking, he must have some super strong pants. XD Anyway, I've lost about 8 times now to this third form... just cause I'm incredibly lazy and only using one pet. X3

I would fight, except that it seems that my pet never does any damage. So what's the point?

Fixed it? Mehehe, I'm glad it worked that way... I don't know if I'd have had the patience to do the step without that little trick. Handy things, Jurpleberries. Yay, Mayor's defeated! ^^ Conveniently in time for another plot update, too... *waits for news to be released*
