It's not my intention to be rude, but I think that you should consider someone else than Xtra for a ninja boss - I never heard from him after he posted the chibi request, and he never replied to me when I told him that his chibi was done *shrugs* I nominate Hu or Fj0rd as ninja boss ^_^ . . . Yaa. . . HU. Fj0rd can be an enemy in NSQ's world. But Fj0rd is cooler than Hu! T_T *smacked out of it* ^^

Well, these are rough ideas, and until I actually start building the levels, I won't know for sure who the bosses and minibosses will be.

Hmm, I just had a random idea for a possible 'world' (if you can call it that)-
It would be a tutorial level, of sorts, where the game would let you practice ducking, running, shooting, etc. Maybe have one of the NPC characters run in and explain the situation to Lady Patjade, then ask her if she wants to 'warm up' before running off to deal with the situation at hand (possibly a mod?). It could be something that you could choose to do or skip, if you played the game before or something...
Do you think it's a good idea?

Hey Strife - I compose music, but I do it the old-fashioned way with pencil and blank manuscript xD If you can find me a program with which I can create midis, then I would be more than happy to help you out with this. PS. the Malevolent Sentient Psycho Peophin had better be a character in this game of yours! (I have not read the preceding 5 pages of conversation, by the way ) PPS. In need of bosses? the MSPP (see above) would be the ideal Boss for a "dark maraqua" type world! Or perhaps you could have Patjade going on a mock-Illiad trip and the MSPP could be your siren PPPS. Wouldn't it be easier to build levels around the NTWFers? With each "world" conquered/passed/survived, a new playable companion is added to Patjade's entourage. So, you could possibly build a Harry-Potter themed world where Patjade meets Ginz and Patrick, and Patjade must do a series of tasks and etc. to help Patrick and Ginz enter the tri-wizard tournament, and then Patjade swallows the wierd plant to help Patrick out underwater (and that is the ultimate task of the level that, upon completion, leads to a new world) and while Patjade is underwater, she encounters Belle (good) and MSPP (see above, bad). Good idea? Yes? I would LOVE to throw in more ideas. Had I the ability and time, I would so make a video game of my own.

Your ideas are rather interesting, but I think I should keep the main quest simplistic. Of course, there may be room for "sub-quests" that would be issued by certain NPC's, and by completing them you would gain various awards. Once i've come to the point where i'm developing a side quest, i'll then ask forum members for their opinion on what it should be. For example, Fip might want a quest where Patjade must fetch her a certain number of bannanas. x)
@ikkin - You got it. f:) The first world (which I have dubbed "the neighborhood world") will give players a chance to practice Patjade's moves and abilities without worrying too much about enemies or hazards. There would be lots of NPC's around to offer advice and such.
Difficulty is definitely something to consider. During the early stages of the game, there wouldn't be much focus on fighting (aside from the boss battles) and levels would require some sort of basic puzzle-solving (i.e. pull a switch to open a gate, shoot arrows into the wall and use them as platforms, etc). As the game goes on, the levels would become longer, have enemies that are stronger and come in larger numbers, and more complex puzzles.

Now that you mention it, Hu would make an interesting ninja boss. Imagine it: After knocking away a horde of ninja goons, you make your way to the top of the pajoda tower, where Hu stands at peak with those hypnotized eyes staring into your soul. Boss time! XDD Yes, I- I mean, Hu would be an awesome boss. *drinks a sake/rum mix* *reads magazines* . . . Yaa. . . HU. Fj0rd can be an enemy in NSQ's world. But Fj0rd is cooler than Hu! T_T *smacked out of it* ^^ *is the one who smacked you* XD Fj0rd, you could be the mini-boss. Then, I'll be the ultimate boss. >D BWAHAHHAHAHAA. *cough* Question: Is this going to be a computor game that you have to download, or would it be a game that you'd play online?

I was actually thinking the same thing, Cyr. xP I would imagine NSQ being a boss/miniboss in the "neighborhood" world (World 1). Anyway, I shall add you and Rider *rider kick'd* I mean Hu to the list of Dialoguers. There are tons of beta testers, so i'm just going to assume that everyone is a beta tester. EDIT: I've made progress with some of the animations. Here are some sample frames from Patjade's jumping and running animations. I've altered her appearance so that it matches Leoness' chibi more accurately. I like the "regular" eyes better than the beady ones, so i'll keep that as it is. ^ Proof that I am actively working. Awesome! ;D Chibi!Player!Patjade is cute. And...well, fyi, I don't do well as a boss. XD I'm too much of a goody-goody to be cast as a boss. Unless there are the good bosses that willingly give you stuff and info when they're defeated...

I'll have some spare time for sketching tomorrow, Strife. Are there any monsters or buildings you want me to work on in particular, or should I just start scribbling?

Hmmm...Meowth as a boss... Dialogue: Meowth: Rawr! Patjade suffers -1 bazillion health because of the rawr. Meowth: Rawr! Patjade: CAN YOU SAY SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES RAWR? Meowth: Rawr. but I almost never say "rawr" SOOOOOOOOO? XD

I'm just popping in here... even though you have lots of others doing this already, would you like more concept art? Here's some example stuff: foxarito.deviantart.com and d4shred.deviantart.comAnd I can help with level design too Just sketching them though. Layouts and stuff.

I'll have some spare time for sketching tomorrow, Strife. Are there any monsters or buildings you want me to work on in particular, or should I just start scribbling? Well, currently i'm working on getting some graphics done for the neighborhood world. Perhaps you could try sketching some different house designs? f:) As for enemies/monsters, right now i'm looking for small, "easy" monsters for the first few worlds. @articunoneo - If you feel that you'd like to contribute something, go ahead and try it out. Some ideas I recieve from people may not be accepted, but others will indeed be used. We're in the "brainstorming" stage right now, therefore, i'll take into consideration anything that's thrown at me. f;)

Argh. Yanno, I would absolutely LOVE to compose for this - but we recently switched around the media computer, switched midi stuff to my computer, and... well, it didn't really like that, so yeah. >_<;; I suppose I could do some concept art, and I'd like to be a character if you need any ^_^ Villain or NPC, I don't care. =3
Edit: By the way... if you're going to have a ninja-type world, it's only fair to include a pirate-type world. ^_~ Just a thought.

By the way... if you're going to have a ninja-type world, it's only fair to include a pirate-type world. ^_~ Just a thought. Indeed. I wouldn't add a ninja world unless there was some sort of piracy involved. f;) For this, I see two options: 1. An underwater/harbor town world dedicated to pirates. 2. Pirate ships that randomly patrol NTWF Island or are positioned in key locations. Each ship would be a large-sized level with a boss at the end. (If you've ever played the airship levels in Super Mario Bros 3, you'll know what I mean.) Question: Is this going to be a computor game that you have to download, or would it be a game that you'd play online? I estimate that when this game is completed, it will be well over 20 megabytes which is nearly unbearable for us dial-up users. So, it will be downloadable.

*Follows link from PM to this thread, reads 7 pages of posts, faints.* *Awakes to severe pain in shoulder and elbow from arm-twisting* "Please my we use you as a main character in this game, PLEASE! We have sprites drawn up and everything! See? Really, really CUTE sprites!" The figure asking is all shadowy except for a pair of huge puppy-dog eyes. Mesmerized and in excruciating pain, I agree before passing out again. --- Sure, you have my permission.
