Killix-Don't forgot as well if you have Pokemon Bank, you will need to renew it eventually or buy the application if one hasn't got it yet, especially if you want to transfer Mons from the 3DS to the Switch Yeesh, Pokemon's becoming more expensive with each passing generation, well, at least for the core series

How about this new Mystery Dungeon game? Red Rescue Team was my fave game on my old gameboy, many feelz and much excitement for the new release!

Thorn : Much as I'm excited that the original PMD is getting a remake, I really, really hope that it means that a remake of the Explorers games are at least up for consideration. There are three games that I'd love to see get remade/remastered for the Switch, and Explorers of Sky is one of them.

See I never played the explorers games. Heard about the plot from my friend though, and it sounded great!

See I never played the explorers games. Heard about the plot from my friend though, and it sounded great! Ohh, you really ought to give it a shot if you can! The story is usually regarded as the best in the Pokemon franchise, and I'm inclined to agree. (I've played it who-knows how many times, yet certain scenes always make me cry without fail. ) The music is incredible as well. Gameplay is an acquired taste as with the rest of the Mystery Dungeon genre, but if you enjoyed Rescue Team, you should enjoy Explorers. If you do check it out though, try to get Explorers of Sky if you can. It adds so many features and quality-of-life additions that there's really no reason to pick Time or Darkness over it. Sky also doesn't have version exclusives like Time and Darkness do, so you can recruit all of the Pokemon that existed at the time with just one game. (Except for Arceus, who just cameos as a statue)

I'll keep this in mind! My store buys and sells old DS games, so maybe I can even get the game with my sweetsweet discount. =P

At the beginning of the month I had picked up Explorers of Time and was playing it again. I never did beat the game (I think it glitched or something on my initial playthrough, 'cause the boss battle I had gotten stuck at was impossible to beat! XD) It's fun, but can be pretty unforgiving at times. o_o

For the most part. Play long enough, and you WILL dread the sight of a Drifblim or Porygon-Z...
But the endgame dungeons can be downright ridiculous. I swear that Grudge Traps were designed by the devil... (Grudge Traps were introduced in Sky, so thankfully you won't run in to them. xD )

(Grudge Traps were introduced in Sky, so thankfully you won't run in to them. xD ) I'm pretty sure I beat the main story and it was the post-game story that I was stuck on. The part where you have to beat up the guild members for the graduation test, which was a pretty doable boss battle. What was NOT doable was how it kept sending me immediately into a battle with Palkia (and Cresselia, IIRC?) after I defeated the guild. At the time I didn't know that wasn't supposed to happen (despite the scenes before and after not making much sense), and I just couldn't deal with the multiple boss battles in a row. The guild fight always depleted my stash of revives and then Palkia would wreck my partner (bless their terrible AI) X'D When I gave the game another try at the beginning of this month, I beat the guild trial and the game went on as it was supposed to, so at least I know that getting stuck on that fight wasn't my fault. X'D

Oh wow, that's... definitely one heck of a glitch. 0_o Not that the actual scenario with Palkia is that much better, considering how jarring it is if you're not expecting it. (It scared the CRAP out of me on my first playthrough, because it was just so sudden. XD Pretty sure it took me several tries to beat him, too.)

Yeah, I don't even know how it happened. XD But now I fear this upcoming battle with Palkia! Though, considering what I experienced while fighting it, I'm guessing it's a very end-game fight? So I think I still have a ways to go before I reach it. I must've attempted to win that blasted glitch fight around 20 times before giving up and shelving it. XD I even came close to winning a few times, but bawss always got me or my partner in the end and burned through whatever remnants of revival seeds I had left. Couldn't have helped that I'm only at level 40something, too. XD

Though, considering what I experienced while fighting it, I'm guessing it's a very end-game fight? Yeah; if I remember it right off the top of my head, there's only one dungeon left in the post-game story after Palkia. So you were definitely underleveled. XD
If it's any consolation, Palkia is pretty much the best Pokemon in the game -bordering on being downright broken. So getting to the point in the post-post game where you can recruit him and then use him plow through most dungeons (That aren't named Zero Isle - though he may still be helpful for the non-Lv. 1 sections) may be a bit cathartic for you.

Oh by the way, when I say Palkia can "plow through most dungeons", I do mean that quite literally. He's the only Pokemon* in the game that can get the "Absolute Mover" IQ skill, which allows him to walk on any terrain and bust through walls. So you can basically just "lol no" away from enemies and tunnel through the walls til you find the stairs. Not that Spacial Rend wouldn't annihilate most foes anyways.
*In Rescue Team, all Pokemon could get the Super Mobile IQ skill, which is functionally the same thing. But it was nerfed in Explorers so that it's exclusive to Palkia.

Just got the demo for Rescue Team DX and these are the changes I've noticed so far from the original (Red Rescue Team), which I started replaying on my DS - Hitting the A button no longer uses a regular attack. In fact, the attack system is based off of Gates/Super
- The experience gained seems to be from Super, meaning that it is a lot slower to level up.
- There's a shortcut to the Pelipper Post Office, created by Diglett in a cutscene. Previously, you would have to travel through Pokemon Square in order to reach the Post Office
- Speaking of Pokemon Square, The Dojo is opened when you visit Pokemon Square. In the original, you would have to rescue Diglett first before the Dojo was opened.
