I kind of want to see Krystal in a Smash Bros game. She's the one Starfox character who has the most potential to not be just a clone of Fox, as long as her fighting style focuses on her staff; I think the abilities it exhibited in Adventures lend themselves to a lot of interesting Smash Bros moves without a whole lot of tweaks.

Either it's a hint that she might be coming to Smash in the future, or they really want to promote indie games. The ad does mention clasic and indie games (Clasic being Minish Cap and Indie being Shantae).
I wouldn't mind seeing a Indie game show up as a dlc character for Smash, would be interesting. There are a couple of indies that are on or coming to the wii u that could fit and be cool I think XD Shovel Knight, Shanate, and Freedom Planet to name three on the top of my head. (got to push Freedom Planet XD)

Sorry for the double post.
Oh-ho, there will be a video coverage/presentation regarding Smash 4 as part of Nintendo's E3 highlight (actually, before, June 14)

Spoilers as this has not been announced/released officially I suspect this was the announcement regarding 'new content', but it's been confirmed that both Roy (from Fire Emblem) and Ryu (from Street Fighter) will make their return and debut, respectively as DLC.

Mixed feelings on these two. I like Roy, but so many Fire Emblem characters now... However, flaming swords are cool.
As for Ryu, it's cool to see him. A bit odd, but still sort of cool. Sort of funny to see two Capcom characters now, who beat each other up in Marvel vs Capcom, now in Smash. Nintendo vs Capcom anyone? XD Anyways, could be interesting....
KIRBY EATING RYU!!! (>'o')> <{ )

Bleargh, when there's the internet, leaks are practically everywhere. >.> I kinda have mixed feeling about Roy, firstly, he's like one of the worst Lord in his own game (from what I heard), secondly, he's yet another clone of Marth (one of the reason why Lucina didn't get that positive receptions) and lastly, wasn't Roy already in this game (you all heard this joke before, don't make me explain it)? Now Ryu, on the other hand, I'm most certainly looking forward to. But having a second Capcom representative, they might as well open up new opportunities for other third party partners (ie. Sega and Bandai Namco) but I guess that's what the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot was for (but we only know the real results after October). Come to think of it, I think I saw leaks of new Mii Fighter costumes including third party IPs, you find them yourselves, I don't wanna spoil too much.

So far all of them, except for Ryu, are characters brought back from older games.
Mewtwo and Roy alone are ones people ask for all the time from Melee.
Roy was basically replaced by Lucina in 4. Roy was a clone, yes, but he had small differences (like Doctor Mario). You do most of your damage with the sword, where Marth was the TIP of the sword. Lucina took this trait from Roy. Roy was also faster then Marth I believe (again Lucina took this trait). Lucina is more of a Roy clone then a Marth clone XD
Roy also had cool fire effects >.>
But yeah... I wanted Roy back, but we got Lucina. Lucina was basically Roy, and I liked her a bit more. So sort of lame they brought him back...
But hey, we got Ryu now. Better then the idea that we were only ever going to get Mewtwo as DLC. Now we got Lucus, Roy, and Ryu too (so that means one NEW character compared to the returns).
So there's actually hope for more? Who knows.

They're working on bringing back all of the veterans from previous titles, and it's great! Some people on the 'net who are complaining about Roy are missing the fact that Roy is DLC not because they were looking to add another FE rep, but simply because he's a returning Smash Bros veteran. (and a popular one, at that XD)
With this patch, Smash4 will have reunited all except the IC and Pichu. Pichu has a snowball's chance in Norfair, but I think that some (possibly new and redesigned) form of the Ice Climbers have a chance to be the final character DLC that the game gets.
Hmmm, well from what I understand: Lucina, Dark Pit and Dr. Mario were originally going to be merely alt costumes for Marth, Pit and Mario. They ended up getting their own altered moveset and character slots as a sort of a bonus implementation. They weren't intended as replacements for anyone, but I wonder now what they're going to do with Roy's moveset if Lucina has most of his old traits? XD

Oh man, I really hope you're right about ICs! I think they'd definitely be able to implement them onto the 3DS if they took the time to do so.
Even if they were Wii U exclusives ror something, i'd be pretty satisfied (and this coming from someone who doesn't own a Wii U). I just like seeing them around because they were so much fun for me to play. XD

Not all. Across all Smash series, there's the two that you mentioned from Melee (Pichu has little to no chance while ICs are iffy) and two others (Wolf and Snake) from Brawl. And from what Mewtwo got after it was released and from what I've been seeing on the 'Net, expect Roy's moveset to be similar, if not the same or modified slightly

Despite the unfortunate aforementioned leaks, we're still gonna watch the announcement anyway. EDIT: POST LIVESTREAM REVIEW (BLATANT SPOILERS ARE BLATANT)Holy crud cheese that was better than I'd anticipated. Roy's Reveal: Okay, I admit I chuckled at the whole Roy vs Roy joke they made. Not forgetting his Final Smash is definitely different from Marth's and Lucina's.
New Mii Fighters Costumes: So now we've new costumes including but not limited to the following: Megaman.EXE, Zero, Isabelle, Inkling Boy & Inkling Girl, Squid Hat, Jacky and Akira. I think there's also one more, but that's not important.
N64 Stages: Talk about a nostalgia trip, okay moving on.
And finally...
Ryu: Boy howdy was that a doozy, alternate Special Moves inputs, 2 Final Smashes depending on your distance from your opponents, new stage, I can definitely see him in one too many online matches. Although my little nitpick on his trailer should've "A New Warrior has Entered the Ring!" as his splash text.
Also, all DLCs (and Lucas) announced? Available today. Holy crud cheese indeed. All in all, I quite enjoy the announcement and I don't mind re-watching it again.

It's not the first time Street Fighter (Ryu), Tekken (Heihachi in the form of a Mii costume) and Virtua Fighter (Akira and Jacky in the form of a Mii costume) have made a crossover, despite the big deal. That goes to Project X Zone (the X is pronounced as 'Cross'). That game also features a crossover with Megaman (not the one from classic , but rather Megaman X and Zero along with another character from Megaman Legends) However, Isabelle getting a Mii costume? That certainly was unexpected.

I'm glad I know how to play Ryu in Street Fighters, so I can unleash destruction in Smash with him XD The Isabelle costume sort of scares me ; I joked about wanting to see Isabelle fight, but not SKINNED and WORN. The best Mii Costumes I think are the Inklings XD Now if only they can make the gunner's shots look like ink blasts XD
