Diddy's nerf is old news to me, but what's that about Ryu soundfiles?? ._.
Those were only rumours, alongside FireEmblem!Roy's supposedly return.
Hypothetically speaking, I understand Ryu getting in as DLC and I wonder if they'd let their other third party partners pitch in their guest fighters since Capcom would've two.
As for Roy, I'm not entirely confident about fans reaction to yet another Marth clone (we had Lucina already). In fact, Mewtwo having the same moves he (thank goodness they didn't go for fem!Mewtwo from Genesect and the Legend Awakened) had in Melee isn't raising confidence either (and that's without pointing the elephant in the room where Roy is the weakest Lord in his home series).
Roy? I'd rather have Chrom than Roy (though they would probably have the same moves). But can't we get another Fire Emblem character that isn't a swordsman? Robin was definitely a good change but there are other characters that wield staves, axes, lances, bows, or transfiguration into dragons/beasts in the game that'd I'd like to see as well. Let's get a Wyvern Rider that just rampages across the stage.
It's not just a rumour, it's posted on The Cutting Room Floor! So uh, confirmed. Those Ryu related files are actually there. So excited for Ryu. X3 I'm all for bringing back the previously cut Smash veterans. I was one of the 5 people who was actually really excited when Dr. Mario was leaked. XD I've never played FE, so I don't really have any attachment to the characters except for the ones that were in Smash. I would really like to see Roy return. |

Roy, Lucina, Marth...they aren't that much different right?
I was playing team matches today and the FE:Awakening fan inside me kept on wanting to pair Male Robin with Lucina since I sort of shipped them in their game. xD

Like Marth you had to hit with the tip of the sword, whereas Roy you could hit the middle of the sword. I think Lucina is similar. There are other differences too, like I preferred Roy over Marth for whatever reason. And now I prefer Lucina over Marth. I hate Ike. Robin is ok, I'm just not very good with Robin XD |

Yeah. Lucina has uniform strength regardless the part of her sword.
Robin is the only Fire Emblem character with short and long range projectile attacks so I'm trying to get better with him/her. It's something new and different.
I would applaud a decision to remove Ike and put Roy back but now that he's still there, adding Roy would be fine too. I'd still use Lucina though.

Other characters that could be interesting are characters with other weapons, like axes. Like Hector. Think, most of NA was introduced to Fire Emblem with Lyn, but there were other lords in that game like Hector. Fighting with a large axe instead of a sword would be sort of cool XD There was also Eliwood.

I like seeing the different art styles all mixed together like that XD -- On another note, I've been thinking about characters I would like to see in future Smash Bros games... Sort of a joke I made to my friend while playing Mario Kart, but... I sort of want to see Isabelle. It's unlikely XD But she shot up in popularity so much, that I think it would be cool. Like, just replace the Villagers with her. Can either give her a whole new move set, alter Villager moves, or do a mix of them XD She'll pummel you off a ring, with a smile. Also, depending how well it does, some Inklings from Splatoon would be cool. At least a stage based on it XD |

Isabelle is already an assist trophy, which I think matches her being literally your assistant. XD And I don't think she should get the promotion to full fighter sooner than, say, Waluigi.
