I have most of my posts saved to my computer, including a few of the first Invisible Guild ones, although they're only really useful for the first thirty-forty pages or so… They're Word files, which my Mac won't open -- but hopefully I can open them with a different program. I just did a test, and Text Edit opens Word files. Or, if you like, you could get a demo of Nisus Writer. I don't know much about how Nisus Writer works, though. (I know I've had a weird problem with overwriting saved files, but they've probably fixed that in a more recent version.)

Whoa, the posts still live in the forum's search engine? *also tries searching out of curiosity* ...I'll have you know I am currently in the process of copy-pasting the last 500 posts of GW2 into TextEdit. >_> And I kid you not, that's going almost far enough back to pick up where Wolf left off in the summary. x'D At this rate it'd be easier to wait and see if it's possible to bring the thread back. It seems to exist in Memory Lane somehow in a corrupted form, and if the posts exist, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. But I'm not very Proboards-support-savvy, so I'm leaving it to someone who actually knows what they're doing. In other words, let's wait and see, people. Well, regardless of whether or not we can bring the thread back, I just finished copy-pasting the 500 posts anyway. XD; (Dang, that took forever.) You know, just in case the thread actually ISN'T recoverable? *ponders over the buttons in the corners of the posts on the search page--such as the Print button, and the Modify button in her own posts--and wonders if trying to use those would somehow bring the thread back, but is too scared to try it as she might asplode what's there* >_>

[glow=red,2,300]A-mazing. I guess the internet is a vast and mysterious place. Though poking around in deep, dark corners... I'm not responsible for anyone getting Data Drained. ^_^ Though if you find any mysterious bits of poem that talk like Yoda, let me know. *gagged* x_o[/glow]

Thanks. Ok, there isn't a glitch there. The reason you get the error, and then the posts is because the posts are stored in a cache for a little while for searches, so the results come up quicker. The thread itself was actually deleted, and it is shown in your security log as having been deleted - page 4 / maybe 5 by now). Better get to copying guys. And quick, if you want it saved.

So it was a cache. Thanks, Stally, I owe you one.
Mmkay, PFA, if you say that you got the last 500 posts of GW, I'll be able to copy the 500 after that - the search only allows you for 1,000 posts max - which goes back to the beginning of April and the hassle at Castle Kestrel. We'll still lose the very beginning of the RP, but it was mainly running around and trying to get a serious war anyway x'D So all we really need to do after that is get it somehow in correct order and formatted and uploaded for public access for anyone interested. Won't be the same thing, but better than nothing, ne?

XDDD;; (If it matters, the way I managed to find all the posts--in order, might I note--was by searching 'roleplay' in the Memory Lane board. I'll note, though, that a few of the results I found that way were from Mafia Wars and not GW2, so I actually only found the last 497 or some such number. XD; [On that note, maybe it would be better to search 'guilds' instead of 'roleplay'? I think you'd get a couple more GW posts that way, as I don't think it would bring up anything from any other thread...])

It should be enough for Wolf's summary at least which should be good enough. ^^ Besides, we still have the memories...
EDIT: I do agree with PFA's suggestion as I've been searching 'Guilds' all this time and it brings up only GW posts.

Seeing as my plan was to get at least as far back as where Wolf's summary left off, that would be good, yes. ^_^ And yes, we definitely have the memories. <3 EDIT: 'Kay, just in case you were wondering, Hunty, the earliest GW2 post I managed to copy down was the Katpost that starts with "Suddenly, Kat felt shivers crawl up her spine." Just, you know, so we don't end up missing a couple of the middle posts. XD;

I s'pose we'd be able to get earlier posts if we narrowed down the search terms by, for instance, searching for individual GWers' names and later pasting all the posts together by the time they're posted, but that sounds like an insane bit of work any way you slice it >>; If I knew for a fact that the cache will last for some time, I'd go for it, but as of now, I'm not entirely sure how much of the earlier posts we'd manage to dig up before the GW drops into an oblivion for good. In other words: if anyone wants to do some golddigging for posts earlier than April 2nd, go for it and copypaste the timestamps together with the posts, yes? :3

XD; Alrighty. *starts with 'Bluisa', surprised to find that she can get all the way back to Vyt's first GW2 post with that* Though unfortunately you can't search for anything with less than four letters in it, which causes problems for those of us with three-letter names. >_> *PFA*

Make sure you use forum search and not the google one (use the link in the upper nav bar between "members" and "help"). Set maximum results to 1000, days to search back at say 750 and get only look in Memory Lane.
I did a search for "Deri". 41 results came back, with one as early as March 9th:

Mmmkay, to be fair, since PFA summed up the end all nice and pretty, I don't know if I'll continue the Summary even if all that I missed can be brought back.... As it stands, the Summary's finished nicely. :)
Nonetheless, good luck getting it back. ^_^ It'd be a shame to lose everything.

When I run a search for my own post, I can find replies as far back as January. Need I keep searching?
