Well, that makes sense, since he's a Darigan Korbat.... I like it. I'm actually tempted to get one... They don't love me... But Darigan is a character! They can't have every single Darigan Korbat look like the character. I don't know. Maybe if the Darigan Korbats were created before Darigan was, I wouldn't be saying this, but something still seems off about it. |

...wow. They really actually made a color that matched which plot characters have it. That....is shocking. (Especially as in the new editorial, it was basically said they were never going to do that.)

XD My first reaction at seeing an interesting color is to look all the poses up on Neocolours. *thinks that a Neocolours/other full set of poses link would be handy in Pet Parades thread* <3 the red eyes, though... Well, that makes sense, since he's a Darigan Korbat.... I like it. I'm actually tempted to get one... They don't love me... But Darigan is a character! They can't have every single Darigan Korbat look like the character. I don't know. Maybe if the Darigan Korbats were created before Darigan was, I wouldn't be saying this, but something still seems off about it. They did the same thing with the Nightsteed and the Halloween Uni. The Hissi sort of falls under that too, but to me he only sort of looks like Kastraliss. See my point? |

Well, this one is much shorter... Basically, Lord Darigan is now about as standard a Darigan Korbat as Kass is a standard Darigan Eyrie. *pause* Actually, the differences are a little greater. Kass has the hair thing, but Eyries don't have to be way elongated to be put on their hind legs, whereas the image of Lord Darigan with normal Korbat feet has me just losing it. (I think there was once a theory that he was a Draik because of his feet....) And going by his appearance in BFM, Lord Darigan actually doesn't really have a neck-ruff -- it goes away when he's in rags -- which is kind of funny. But may have been an accident. *g* Funny thing for them to say after the Halloween Uni... But really, that's not how I took the editorial thing at all; I just took it as a reminder of what I would otherwise have assumed everybody knew already (I actually would've thought the question was kind of a smartalecky one) -- that, yes, the plots don't necessarily involve either the limitations or the benefits of the game-play portions of Neopets. Edit: Okay, point taken about the Halloween pets possibly being dressed up in costume. Still, the plot characters are frequently at least semi recognizable as an existing color, with some modifications, often to make them more human-looking. And Jeran's a prettier color of blue than the regular Blue Lupe.  I think part of the shock here is not so much that it's unreasonable for Lord Darigan to be a standard Darigan Korbat, but that they left us without one for so long after introducing him, and it started to seem more like he was unique. |

I think it's got the ugly-cute thing going, personally.
(Side note: also, Lord Darigan has an extra pair of limbs. Arms and wings. So does Koya, Korbat Huntress, I think.)
I guess my reaction is partly because I always thought that either they wouldn't get around to doing a Darigan Korbat, or it wouldn't look enough like Lord Darigan. Not that I'd have terribly minded a dark purple one, but I still like this.
