It is pretty cool (no pun intended XD) and a very clever country too, judging from all the great inventors who were Scottish in some way. There are I would imagine quite a few people all over the world with Scottish roots since a lot of Scots emigrated during the 19th and 20th centuries. Like me! =D Though... I also have Irish, English, Dutch, and German roots. I'm an all-American mutt, in other words. I have Irish, Polish, French, and Scottish roots. And maybe others. Woo, yay! xD

I must say, the amount of Scottish inventors is staggering. I'm also finding the government, and the various treaties with England, and the joining to Great Britain, all very interesting. I'm not really interested in it's political side but the historical side of Scotland is a gold mine. The various clans, monarchs and even some of the wars are a colourful tapestry just waiting to be looked at.

If the politics weren't what they were, then the history wouldn't be what it was. And what's your heritage? xD

The history is interwoven with the politics so much that they blend into one. The politics of today though are...stupid. They hope for independence but it brings misery. I have seen a country in the eearly stages of independence first hand and it isn't pretty. ... Ukrainian with some Russian and Polish ancestors. Not very mixed. XD

I used to hate politics, but politics and history are so closely intermingled, it's hard to separate them out, because they sort of feed off each other. Nothin' wrong with being not very mixed. xD My grandpapa was all Polish (yeah, and I never learned to speak the language xD).

Modern politcs and their legally criminal ways are just a lot of pain IMHO. Really? ^_^ My ancestors waay back in time were Polish but most of my recent ancestors were Ukrainian/Russian.

I can't listen to politics in any country without getting angry and asking who let this moron take the lead? Cambridge in England. XD And before that in Ukraine.

Have to go for a bit for lunch. Bye, anyone who's still here. Bye Kathleen! EDIT: I finished my poem which I am going to submit to the Poetry contest. ^_^ The castle of Meridell holds a secret Which few know of. There the sun shines by day And when it rains, the rain sings with joy Keeping paradise the way it is. Soft threads of silver moonlight strokes the leaves of plants And creates colours unseen by the eye of the sun.
It seems untouched by anything that goes on Outside the castle’s unbreakable walls. The Gardens of Meridell are blessed with ignorance. The flowers open each day as if nothing matters Showing off their cloaks of rainbows and silk. Petpets sing to soothe the hearts of anybody who comes in Healing their worries and troubles with velvet sounds.
The shadows are cool and welcoming Protecting all against the cruelty of the sun And blessing the verdant grass beneath them With sparkling dew deep into the day. A rainbow of flowers carpets the ground Mingling the sweet smells of earth With the fresh breeze that blows from the east.
Trees bow their heads in reverence, Gazing down with compassionate eyes In the form of spring blooms and leaves. When the time comes, they shed their leafy canopies To reveal the gifts of jewelled fruit That gladdens the heart with their sweet taste.
Winter, spring, summer or fall, The Gardens are always there for the weary In need the healing of the spirit. Many heroes have rested there Forever captivated by the beauty and serenity That is the Gardens of Meridell.

For some reason, it feels like I've slept longer than I actually did.
