I keep hearing people talk about Avatar... what's it about? I've never seen it.  Or, if you want a description, it's about a twelve-year-old named Aang who is the current Avatar reincarnation, whose duty is to bring balance back to the world (which is separated into four countries by element - Fire, Earth, Water, and Air). The problem is, he's one hundred years late and in the meantime, the Fire Nation started an imperialistic war of conquest that he has to stop. He's chased by Prince Zuko, who has problems of his own, and definitely isn't your average cartoon villain. ...I  Zuko muchly. That looks really interesting. Are the avatars anything like those in Charmed (if you've seen it)? They had to bring balance back into the world as well, or so they said in the beginning -- I haven't watched all Charmed seasons, so I don't know how it turns out. |

The Avatar is the master of all four elements. it's his job to keep peace in the world. He dies and is reborn over and over again. Then, the fire nation decides, WORLD DOMINATION TIMEZLOL. The Avatar mysteriously disappears. A century later, the world is still at war. A girl and her brother find the Avatar's reincarnated form trapped in an iceberg. He's a 12-year-old kid. Now he has to learn how to bend all four elements before WORLD DOMINATION TIMEZLOL. ... I need serious help.[/glow] |

Are the avatars anything like those in Charmed (if you've seen it)? They had to bring balance back into the world as well, or so they said in the beginning -- I haven't watched all Charmed seasons, so I don't know how it turns out. I don't know what the avatars in Charmed are like, but probably not. The Avatar is the only person who can learn to control ("bend") all four elements; bending is kind of a cross between magic and martial arts (they choreograph all the moves with a Kung Fu master). He can also harness the power of his past lives to do things that normal people can't, but Aang can't really do that correctly yet. |
