Something should have been done about the Tabloids an age and a half ago, but anyway. The Tabloid Town Meeting came out with this set of guidelines: [/glow] I think most of us agree that we don't need some drastic change type deal like splitting the threads or deleting the Tabloids. What we need is concious effort from every member who posts on the tabloids, to be a lot more careful and thoughtful about what they write/post. The mods can't be everywhere at once...and they shouldn't have to babysit, or keep a lockdown type watch on us incase we misbehave. ;D We, the members, need to make the change within ourselves, and just plain stop posting things that go over the line. The bottom line is: Don't post anything you wouldn't show to your mother/father/grandmother/grandfather/10 year old sister. ;D [glow=red,2,300]OK, since no one else seems to be suggesting standards: Making out/Snogging = OK as long as it's not constant. Ultimate Verb = No. Not only is it too risque, it makes eyes water. Closeting = No. Roofing = No. General dirty jokes = OK so long as they're not flamboyantly out there. Organ jokes = No. Graphic, bloody violence = No. Comic Violence (i.e. despleening) = OK Undergarment jokes = OK Any objections/additions/inquiries? EDIT: QMs count as jokes. organ QMing = no. Can this work you ask? It definitely can! I mean, almost all of you are accomplished writers and artists and poets et all and I'm pretty sure y'all are no stranger to censorship and whatnot. And regardless of profession, I'm sure everyone here has a rich vein of creativity. Can't use QMs? Bah, come up with something equally witty and less mind-scarring. No closetting? Get a room ... for a romantic candle-lit dinner of course. See, if you put your mind to it you can keep up with forum rules and STILL have fun ^_^ After all, some of you are familiar with the Neopian Times  So go about your business, keep in mind the new rules and say 'Right!' with a passion ^__^ |

Hmmm... it IS big, with a lot of tubes... x) Wellll, I never watched Invader Zim or made references to organs before, so I should be okay. The QM's will be the tricky part for me. Maybe I ought to give up using QM's. It's a passing fad anyway, like rainbow lip gloss or adding PH to the beginning of words that start with F. Phreaky! |
