The air rippled behind them as the two airboard riders, bent over their streaming boards, headed for the Baley. The wind tore at Saeyix’s long red hair, whipping him in the face. Maybe he should have worn a helmet. The two boards cut around a corner, leaving a powerful backcurrect behind them. Up into the grey sky, flying over the rooftops, the turbines spluttering and roaring, the two friends cut across the rumbling city. Saeyix pointed off to his left, signaling to Cale, then grabbed the front of his board and dove. The two of them plummeted straight down, cutting underneath the monorail tracks, swerving at the last second into a low, cement building.
