I can do better, 3+3=3! and it's actually true! Of course it is! Just like 1+2=42!!! It is, 3! = three factorial = 6 *smartass grin* However my friend tried to prove 1=0, and the maths teacher couldn't even work out why his working was wrong...

You know... If my life plans go accordingly, I'll be in Japan on the 21st of December 2008, I think.

It is, 3! = three factorial = 6 *smartass grin* However my friend tried to prove 1=0, and the maths teacher couldn't even work out why his working was wrong... Huh? Yes, but it's not the conventional 'proof', he made his own, and no-one could find why it was wrong... factorial is when you do the number *the number below *the number below that all the way to 1. It is denoted by a ! hence 3+3=3*2*1 , 3+3=3! *please, stop me rambling about maths...*

All right, I don't quite remember how to do the fake proof that shows that 1=0. But this one shows that 1=-1!
Assume: x=1. Then, x^2=1^2=1 x^2=1 Subtract 1 from both sides, and you get: x^2-1=0 Distribute that (you need to have done quadratic algebra to get this next step), and you'll get: (x-1)(x+1)=0 Divide both sides by the quantity (x-1), and you get: (x-1)(x+1)/(x-1)=0/(x-1) Zero divided by anything is zero, and (x-1)/(x-1)=1, so that gives you x+1=0. Subtract 1 from both sides, and x=-1. Which means that 1=-1!
Now, there is a flaw in that. Where is it?

It's kind of become normal to say my friend proves 1=0 when he's bored.
