I often have to bite back the urge to speak the bits of Japanese that I picked up through Furuba when I talk to my friends, but I think I'd be more popular if I did. [glow=red,2,300]There's just something about exotic people. My school is very tolerant of other races and cultures. I remember my English teacher telling us about a girl a few years back who was born in India. Her parents were setting her up in an arranged marriage. Everyone was so shocked to hear that, but she said, "I trust my parents. They'll find a good husband for me." As long as I get to keep all of my old friends and sit at my lunch table every day, I wouldn't mind being popular. *shrug* I'm neutral on it.[/glow] |
