[glow=red,2,300]I definatly believe in ghosts. I've had so many ghost encounters that I'm not freaked out by them any more. Every single house that I've lived in has had at least one ghost in it.
As for that "what are they" question, I'm not quite sure. There are a ton of reasons for it but I have no idea which one is true. I like to stick to the traditional "they're dead people" take on it.[/glow]

I'm not sure to either believe in them or not. I'm also a Christian and my church believes that a person is dead and their soul sleeps until Judgement Day.
There have been a lot of creepy things that have happened to me though. I used to live at a house that was originally built in the 1900's. It was renovated a few times, though not well until my parents did. When we were doing the bathroom we found a really really old window that was all broken. On the edge of it was something red. I'm sure it was blood, but my parents say it was some paint. But I don't see how they had that colour back in the 1900s.
Later on after we renovated I was in my bedroom about to go to sleep. My bedroom doors had glass panels in them and I could see into the hallway. Suddenly I saw a woman in one of those puffy hoop skirts run past followed by a man in a miner's outfit. I was so freaked out that the next day I got my mum to put curtains on the doors. I was really glad we moved, for some reason that room was always the coldest in the house, even with a heater on. It scared me a lot.
There was also a windmill outside that make loud groaning sounds all the time. My dad got fed up with it and tied it up so it couldn't move. During the day it wouldn't make a sound, but as soon as it was night it would make loud screeching metal sounds. It was freaky.

I'm kinda in the same mind as Linny. I think that ghosts (I've never seen one, but I've heard one and my sister's seen one) are basically imprints when someone has really strong emotions that just stay. Either that, or I think Earth's pergatory. Or that it's just a psychological thing that we all create, since ghosts are usually seen when you're tired, scared, or it's dark. The whole matter confuses me, but I need to stop talking about this 'cause I'm getting scared now.

On the overcrowdedness note, I'd like to point out a tiny statistic. Half the people that have ever lived are alive today. Interpret this as you like. For those of you who don't know or have short memory spans, there are over 6 billion people on earth. For those of you who can't do basic multiplication, there is a total of 12 billion people that have ever lived on earth.
I don't believe in "ghosts" but I do believe in restless spirits. Like ghosts, but not the scary kinds that haunt things and yell "BOO!" The kind that wander around in sadness or with an unfinished calling of sorts. I also believe that not everyone turns in to a ghost.

I've never seen a ghost, and I'm very, very glad. I'm the kind of person who gets freaked out very easily - even reading this thread is making me glance sideways everywhere.
My friend swears that she saw a ghost jumping on her bed. Her sister says she's just weird is all.
As for what I think they are... I don't really know. Like some others have said, maybe demons/angels/spirits. I honestly don't know about the dead people thing.

I never use to know if i beleived in Ghosts or Ghost'like beings...but after that sleepover I had on Friday Night to Saturday morning...I now do. I can't really tell you what happend while I was there...we all made a pact that nothing left that house...but I trust some of you enough to say a bit of what happend, as i know you won't tell anyone about it all. People I'm really good friends with IRL probally won't ever know...because secrets get overheard IRL easier...
All I can really say is; that it's pretty freaky stuff...and there's no way to logically explain any of it...so I really strongly beleive in ghosts, or ghost-like creatures.

Personally, I *don't* believe in ghosts... I am a Christian, and therefore:... 3. I believe that, when people die, you get judged by God, and then you go to heaven/hell Nope, in the Bible it says you get judged by Jesus, not God.
