? Hmm... Skimmed through all the stuff. Nah, I didn't vote for anything. Because I don't really think there is a human nature. Human nature is generalizing. Each human has his or her own doing. Well, the human nature could be described as filling the needs, but if it's good or bad, it's just moral issues. It depends on instinct, enviroment and probably some genetical inheritance. There is really no good or bad. It's like a weave of threads, where white and black run along each other. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's good... But good and bad came out of human society and wasn't natural in the beginning. Is nature good or bad? I don't think so. So therefore, human nature is just what it is.. Well, that was my pretty weak argument. And I'm going to finish it with a quote. "There is no good or bad. There is only power." - Lord Voldemort You know, refferencing a Hitler-esque villian from a fantasy book really isn't good for your argument. But the point before that was REALLY good? Who here is bold enough to label nature itself as "good" or "bad"? In my opininion, it's neither - it's perfect. Not perfect as in "really good," perfect as in "exactly how it should be," because it's the work of God. But again, that's just my opinion.

I don't believe in good or evil. Why? Because there are no common rules to what is which. In some cultures, cannibalism is a common, non-evil way of life. In others, it is one of the largest forms of evil. Everyone has their own morals and such. To me, white lies (lies which are meant to save oneself from trouble or to keep someone from getting hurt, without hurting anyone else) are okay, because their intentions are "good." To others, any sort of lie is evil simply because it's not the truth. The intentions of white lies aren't good, they are still too cover up something which is bad!!

My socials teacher made an excellent point about good and bad. What really defines it? We cant. Everything has limits. What's worse here? Aborting a child, or raising it in a terrible way that you can't handle, so they grow up poorly, and don't end up an asset to society, maybe even someone that makes it worse? It's difficult to define these things. Is one persons life worth that of the society's they live in, and in some cases others they affect? What if bin laden, or hitler had been aborted? Would it be worth their lives? I know some of you must be tempted to say yes, neither was an asset to society. You know, Bush has a price on bin ladens head, dead or alive.
What about in some countries where their ideas of right and wrong are different than ours? Can we really judge that which is different from us, that we don't understand? In some countries, being raped is the crime, not raping. Appalled? So was I. But that's what everyone that lives their believes, and are perfectly satisfied with that.
Before you jump to say education is the answer, that's how people learn better ways, consider that often education is run by the government, in fact, I don't know of a case in which it's not. When the government says being raped is the crime, not raping, and they teach it, everyone learns that one way. You might just be reinforcing it.
So, that ties with the right and wrong, and human nature seems to be mostly about that, and then just the normal things we do.
