... Erm, have you guys actually thought that this might be offensive to some people?  ; I don't celebrate Easter, not everyone here does, and I personally find it offensive AND confusing, since I have no clue what's going on. 'S kinda rude, IMO. |

Just because you don't celebrate it doesn't make it offensive o-o. There were Hanukkah banners in December, and although I'm not Jewish, I thought it was perfectly fine...
How about instead of celebrating Easter, we could just celebrate spring? We could still have pastels and bunnies ^_^

Just because it doesn't offend you, doesn't mean it doesn't offend other people. This is becoming exactly like Neopets. -_- How so? How does adding a little theme and some color offend everyone? Would you prefer it to be just gray and Harry only? Would Friday the 13th and April 1st also offend people? Did Chinese New Year, Christmas, and New Years offend? We also acknowledged Chanukkah and Thanksgiving. Even Spring Break. We can call it a Spring Festival. Whatever. Perhaps I should do away with doing anything special here. What does everyone think? |

I don't exactly celebrate Thanksgiving, Chinese New Year or St. Patricks Day but I don't see any wrong with celebrating others holidays. Multiculturalism and sharing traditions.
What's wrong with a Cybunny 'saying Happy Easter!' or whatnot.
I don't see how that can be offensive, you could have something worse on a banner.

I don't think that not decorating the forum isn't necessary.
If you find Easter's true meaning offensive, then just think about the Easter the market has made up--bunnies, eggs, candy, and all that completely non-religious stuff. What the market makes out of things is completely different then the deep, religious meaning.
And if we decorate the forum, it will just be colours, bunnies and eggs. So there is no need to worry, really.

I celebrate Easter, so I don't see a problem with decorating the forum for it. But if some find it offensive, maybe we could decorate it for spring. Flowers, baby chicks, suns, etc. |
