Wow, what a week! First road trips equalling over 1500 miles and about 80 hours of work, and then tons of PM's and IM's about this, that, and the other thing. I guess it is easier to post a message than write all the replies, so here goes!
There's a new Forum out there that covers the Neopian Times. It is called "Creative Minds of Neopia" and can be found here: cmonforum.proboards20.com/index.cgi? Go ahead and check it out!
Now, to answer some questions:
Q: There's a new NT Forum out! What are you going to do?
A: Congratulate the the founder and put a link, like I did here.
Q: Aren't you afraid of competition? Of the NTWF going under?
A: No. I view C'MoN as simply another venue for people to participate. There are plenty of people to go around, and trying to think of this as some kind of competition is simply silly. NTAG once thought NTWF was some kind of competition. It is not. The good thing about NTWF and C'MoN is that you don't have to quit one to participate in the other, unlike a guild.
Q: What about the people who started the other Forum? And I see that some of your Moderators and Admins are Moderators and Admins there! Aren't they traitors? Are you going to ban them? What will you do?
A: What ABOUT the people that started C'MoN? There's NOTHING wrong with that. I am NOT about to ban ANYONE. I have YET to ban a SINGLE person from NTWF for ANY reason, so far. I have rarely had to warn people if their conduct is unsatisfactory. As for Admins and Mods, I have this to say: Those people were chosen for their roles because they are helpful, respected, and knowledgeable. I don't see any reason they can't do it more places than here. I don't OWN anyone! And so far, nobody has resigned their post to "work" over at C'MoN, so if they are comfortable with that, so am I.
Q: If you are so positive about this, why aren't YOU a member of C'MoN?
A: Simple. I have taken a peek at the site, but I do not wish to intrude. I understand that the Administrator sent out invitations, but I haven't gotten one yet. But it'd be fun to participate someplace where I don't have to worry about the burdens of having to deal with the day-to-day details of the site. But I have plenty to deal with as it is right now, so I won't join unless invited.
ONE OTHER THING
For those of you who might view C'MoN as "competition" or the "enemy", let me make this clear: C'Mon is NOT. It is just another venue for people who love the NT to go and discuss that which they enjoy. I will NOT tolerate ANY snide remarks, slams, derogatory statements, nasty words, or poor behavior either towards C'MoN, or its members. If I find people doing this, I might be forced to act in an unfriendly manner, and your choice in Forum memberships may be reduced by one, at least.
THERE WILL BE NO FORUM WARS. Understood?
