edit: the mentions of Gotye makes me think of this cover of "Somebody That I Used To Know", so I'm wondering if you've seen it yet? (I mean, it has gone viral and everything, so probably.) I think it's rather neat. x)

I was a fan of the original Rise of Nations way back when we still had it and I didn't know this exited. That's awesome! The original had pretty epic music as well. Here's one of my favourites.

I can't remember if Anais Mitchell's Hadestown has been mentioned here yet but dang it SHOULD BE. This album is so, so, so fantastic and everyone should listen to it. I mean, it is a folk opera that chronicles the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. If that doesn't convince you I don't know what will.
Actually, Anais Mitchell just as a rule is really great.
