Lol I just had a look at my last recommendation post, and for various reasons I read basically none of those comics anymore save for Gunnerkrigg. I should probably start trying to find new ones.
Speaking of, though, is anyone else here into Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe? I finally started reading it these past few months, and ahhhhh I love it~
I am at heart a sucker for romance, and comics like this just brings out the little old lady in me who wants to read her stories and catch up on the latest gossip. Lore Olympus is a re-contextualization of the Greek gods in a more modern setting, and it primarily focuses on the story between Persephone and Hades. Instead of Hades kidnapping her as his bride, now they have an awkward experience at a party and have to figure out their feelings for each other while working under the same building. The story is very much carried by their developing relationship, so whether you're a romance person or not may tell you whether you'd like the comic.
The characters outside of Hades and Persephone are also a ton of fun, and there's a lot of diversity and complexity in them (even the ones painted as not great people), and Rachel Smythe seems to have the same love as I do of finding any excuse to put characters in pretty outfits~ The art in general is really gorgeous, it has this painterly-style coloring that makes it feel very dreamy.
There are some themes of sexual and domestic abuse, although the comic does put in warnings at the start of chapters when these things happen. There's also some language sprinkled throughout. And since this is a modern telling, stuff in the old stories like incest are written out (so you can actually root for Persephone and Hades).
But yeah, I love it! It's a cute slice of life comic that has some intriguing story and feel good moments <3
