Well... I finished. 50,203 words of padding, 99 Bottles of Beer a couple of times - but only down to 76, pirates, Broadway, a maiden called Margeunzel, a spoon-swallowing grandfather, and a kid called Jason.
I do warn anyone who wishes to attempt, you can't have any plot; it throws you off to much. Just WRITE. Anything. Don't get worried. Be sponatenous. For example, about 18,000 words into it, my characters went from being trapped in a warehouse to Vegas. How? They hitched a ride with a guy named Billy Bob. you just have to IMAGINE; if it could in a billion years, it will happen. Also, sleep a bit or it's bad, and your hands will hurt like hell by the end.
But it's worth it, just to say I wrote a novel in a day.
(I took 20 hours, 40 minutes to complete mine, by the way, and Fj0rd's gonna be done VERY soon, so probably in around 21 hours for her)

*massages shoulder blades* I haven't posted on the NaNo forums yet, but... I FINISHED. =D With crazy mousetrap-obsessing guys named after one of my teachers at school, and a drama teacher who made people sing "99 Bottles of Beer" for auditions (w00t for padding) and crazy MCs who tie people up with duct tape and steal cars.

...I'm doing it! =D About a couple random girls, one of which is obsessed with cheese and the other has a dark secret from her past involving a trombone. I have no idea where it's going, but it's more fun that way. ^_^

OMG You finished!  YOU PWN. I told my sister you were doing this and she made some calculus and told me you would have to write one word a second to finish, and that's without counting time to think of the plot, chat on AIM or come to the NTWF to tell us about your progress (She did deduce some sleep hours) but yeah... Amazing. |
