I made it to regionals in the paper-writing division of a history contest. And it seems that I'm in the six finalists in regionals--which is good, because it means that I get at least a 95% on the project in English, and up to 100%, but bad, because it means the judges will be interviewing me to see where in the top six I should be (first place or third or whatever). *hides* I don't like interviews...I'm going to freeze up and make a fool of myself and...*hides even more hiddenly*

Congratulations! You should be happy! *cheers*
The best thing to do is just relax and be yourself...you'll feel even more stupid if you keep freaking out and then it ends up not being so bad. They'll just ask a few questions, and you just answer them as truthfully as you can. And remember, wherever you are in the top six, you are STILL in the top six and that is a great honor in itself.
I'm sure that most of the other kids are just as scared as you are!

I read recently somewhere - I think it was a science fiction novella - that usually what we fear we fear unnecessarily. My experience has indicated that this is, in most cases, true. This sounds like one of thoes times.
I expected to be scared when I had to do an audition piece in front of a camera recently. But it was just really relaxed. First of all, I rehearsed the piece a lot beforehand, and it's just a stupid camera. Like someone above said, you're already in the Top Six.
However, you aren't going to gain anything by trying to not be nervous. So go ahead and be nervous. Make a fool of yourself. You'll be fine.

"Don't be afraid..."
-Mr. Burns in alien form
I know how you feel, I keep on trying to do tricks on the uneven bars, but I'm so afraid I can't even do a flip and stay on the bar!

You will be fine, there's no reason to be nervous. Erm, just imagine your interviewer in their underwear? o.o

Okay, I'll stop speaking spanish now, I was just saying good luck and blah-dee-blah-dee-blah.
