The army was thinking of attacking cages of chickens to their cars while they drove around, to see if they would die from chemicals in the area... Think of the canaries in the mine shafts. ^_^ Yeah, something like that. They're going to send chickens in places and if the chickens die, then they know not to let the men go there... Quote from a Comic I made: Hmm, it'll now have to be KFD, Kentucky Fried Duck... Chicken, chicken, chicken... -does the funky chicken dance- It'll now have to be: 'The Funky Duck ((or bird)) Dance...'

The other half were too dumb. OR the other dolphins had been telling them about it (dolphins DO have their own language) OR they just didn't care about getting some extra fish enough to have something uncomfortable stuck to their mouth. When animals don't do what people want them to, they say that they are too dumb to understand the training. I say that in some cases it is equally likely the animals were too smart to WANT to be trained.

Exactly why cats are far superior to dogs, not that it's relevant. *nods* Dolphins are sweet little animals who don't want to hurt anyone. They are also incredibly intelligent. The thought of them being trained for military work makes my heart sick. Humans don't want to hurt anyone, either, barring a small few, unless they have been provoked. I'm quite certain dolphins will fight back when provoked--they team up on sharks, don't they? Humans are also intelligent. The thought of anyone being forced into the military is disgusting, human or dolphin.

But Dolphins don't really have a choice...it's not like they ask them "hey, do you want to join the military?". Of course, they don't speak our language... But if you think about it, using anyone, no matter what species, for war is just not right...

We'll probably need a draft. And humans can unwillingly join the military for reasons that have nothing to do with a draft; if they can't get the money for college and so sign up, or if they can't find work and are starving, for example. There is choice involved, of course, but there's also choice involved with a draft--you can always move out of the country, can't you?

I like that... Anyway, yes, there are ways to be involuntarily drafted...and you can always move...but if you don't have enough money, than you can't afford it, obviously, right? That's why the world today is just so unfair...almost makes me wish there wasn't any currency...but we have to have it, because of a whole bunch of other reasons... The universe is just one big paradox, doomed for eternity.

Thanks...^^ The world is unfair because the only way to make it fair would be for there to eliminate everything beyond control, and that's not happening... And if the universe is doomed for eternity, at least that means it won't be ending anytime soon, right? ^^;;

I can't stop thinking about the chickens... HOW WOULD THEY FEEL IF THEY WERE THE CHICKENS?

Yeah, no one ever said the world was fair...but deep down, everyone wishes it was

I can't stop thinking about the chickens... HOW WOULD THEY FEEL IF THEY WERE THE CHICKENS? Which would you rather--chickens dead or humans dead? Maybe it's specist of me, but I'd rather keep the humans alive. LOL! I guess you're right...but is that necessarily a good thing? Yeah, no one ever said the world was fair...but deep down, everyone wishes it was It would be rather boring if the world was fair. I think the ideal would be a world in which people treated each other as fairly as is viable.

I think the ideal would be a world in which people treated each other as fairly as is viable. Well, I wouldn't want either dead...but if I had to choose, I pick the chickens too... Yes, it would be. And I am sure if we lived there, we would want it to be unfair for a change, just as we want it to be fair. So I guess I'm looking for in between, which, in a way, we are. There are some people who treat you fairly, like an equal, and others who don't. So, in my mind, I guess that's the best it's gonna get...like I said before, THE UNIVERSE IS A PARADOX!

Trust me, Mushroom, if Bush tried to institute a draft for such a controversial war, he'd be in SOOOOO much trouble. At this time, a draft for the war against Iraq is highly improbable. And even if it were, it still couldn't be compared to the dolphins' situation for one reason: humans have interest in the affairs of their countries. Dolphins don't.

Heh, that's what makes them so intelligent! They aren't obsessed with politics...I hate politics... Yeah, even Bush would be smart enough to know that that isn't the greatest idea...not that Bush is not smart, but when you watch a lot of SNL, it kind of sinks in...

Screwed up, thy name is humanity. Well, maybe not. Still, it's pretty messed up a times.
