Kinda sad that the BC avatar's not retroactive. :X I mean, it makes sense, but eh. Now I have to decide which pet to enter--the prettier one (Ellie) or the easier one (Eugene)? WHO KNOWS
That said, I really want an AG avatar now. ;u;

The new Site Themes are nice, but I'm surprised we got Roo Island and Kiko Lake before, say, Meridell. I'd love it if TNT made a Darigan site theme, though 8)

As far as being retroactive goes, I feel more bad for Site Spotlight winners since that's not retroactive either and it's a LOT harder to be a repeat Site Spotlight winner :c
I guess I need to learn how to art for the BC av. xD Those of you who plan on entering in the near future, be sure to let us know if the avatar is awarded for winning species or winning overall. C:
@natthewriter : I feel ya. I want a Storytelling Contest avatar.

I just feel jealous of all you artists out there who can get the AG and BC avvies - I'm terrible at drawing. Maybe I should have drawn more when I was a kid =P

I'm ecstatic about Roothless appearing in the image rotation and the icons for the Roo Island theme! Maybe he'll come back someday! The new avatars are awesome too, I really want the Site Spotlight one.

TNT made three new avvies - one for the lottery, one for the site spotlight, and one for the BC.    Also, according to JN, the Site Spotlight avvie is applied retroactively. |

Maybe for the next Discovery of Meridell Day? Yeah, I do think if you have a trophy for Site Spotlight, Beauty Contest, and/or Lottery you should be able to redeem those Avatars. Anyway, here are some of my observations I made about the Site Themes: Tyrannian: Wow, forgot they never update Grarrg's artwork, though then again this is the prehistoric world *rim shot*. Overall I like it. Kiko Lake: Yeah, KL is kind of lacking in characters. That said, I think they made a mistake. While KL does have the KL Treats shop, that's the Chocolate Factory Kiko their using and not the KL Treats shopkeeper, oops. Worse yet, they even used him for the Trading Post symbols, lol! Hmm, if they don't want to use the Team KL players, maybe they could have added Kavi from Tubular Kiko Racing. Not bad, but a bit lacking. Roo Island: Why did they use the Roo Jester twice? Was one of them suppose to be Count Von Roo since he's noticeably missing. Otherwise looks good and I like the colorful Neofriend and gift symbol (though why is the TP using Roothless?). Nice theme. And for the remaining themes and Avatars, nothing really to say, they look good.  Also, I just noticed this, the Habitarium theme didn't bother changing the symbols on top! Compared to these B-Day themes it really feels rushed besides having more rotational images. So odd.  |

We never really did capture him, he's still out there... I GOT A GAME MASTERS CHALLENGE IDEA! Roothless and Chadley team up and try to take it over! Of course, about two weeks after Koemi gets goldbanned. :T At least I already planned for some other entries over the next few weeks.
I think I understand why they didn't do the BC avatar retroactively. Trophies and entries follow the pet, not the user. If you could get the avatar by having a pet with a trophy it would just end up being another pet lending avatar. (And an pretty easy one at that, given how many pets have trophies out there.)
I am a bit concerned about how it could effect the BC, though.

I remember when Roothless was just a collectable card character named "King Roo's Nemesis". I love it when TNT takes obscure characters from collectable cards and fleshes them out, even though I don't really care much for either the Daily Dare or the GMC. Ah, well! Getting new lore on the site is always fun!

It's like they have it in for me To be fair, the vast majority of the time winning the BC has 0% to do with being a good artist and 100% to do with bumping a neoboard constantly for seven days in a row. |

The lottery jackpot doubled.  I find this strangely hilarious. doctortomoe, isn't that kind of a harsh view? The circumstances were really not in your favor--I mean, you had to throw together a scratch entry with very limited time and resources, for a contest that apparently got hundreds of entrants. It doesn't mean anyone hates your art. (And of course, there's the fact that TNT members who are making avvies have likely never even seen your art because they aren't contest judges.) Plus, I suck at art and have multiple BC trophies. The BC is mostly advertising (and to some extent having a likeable gimmick). And of course the SS requires coding, but flipping through the site spotlight winners, a number of them don't seem to have any original art at all, just existing art used well. |

I'm still kinda upset about the RC, so I'm extra down, to be honest. Still, now it seems like I do need to actually get an art program on my computer, since I doubt I can get in the BC with something hand drawn and photographed. And I know nothing about coding or making art for a spotlight. It really just does seem, to me, like they're making more accomplishments for things that I have no skill in whatsoever now. Maybe I should just quit avie collecting. |
